The deformed land behind Hyrule Castle was the location of one of the guardian pillars in botw, it makes sense that such a thing receding back into the earth would cause such a disruption in terrain, I’m surprised the other pillars didn’t cause this much harm.
and that's another thing I forgot existed in BOTW... my apologies. The world of Hyrule in both BOTW and TOTK is so similar, yet so different at the same time. I'll make sure that I take both game's versions of Hyrule into consideration next time. Thank you for pointing that out.
