Brilliant! I don't think this has ever been changed on my 2009 Mk3 Megane as when it's in for a service, I'm always told it's too "difficult" or not "cost effective" to do. I now feel confident enough to try this out myself (along with a couple of other jobs I've also found videos for on your site, like the check strap one). You've got yourself a new subscriber! Thanks a lot for the great content.
Thanks for this! Want to address this in the coming days. Although I've gotta say this is hands-down the single worst cabin air filter location I've seen. Not surprised others are saying it probably was never done on their cars. Come on Renault...
I agree. I change it myself, sometimes without removing the glove box, but half way through, when my back starts to brake, I regret my decision. But then again, it's important to change it regularly and it should have an easier access. Thanks for watching!
Note! That the screw at 0,53 mn is different. This is a metalscrew with normal metric thread. Not a plasticscrew. Keep this one apart, cause you can not screw it in the plastic dashboard!
To replace the Cabin filter on a Renault Megane 3 you don't have to remove the glove compartment but it can be a little bit tricky since you'll be working in a tight space. In this example, we removed the glove compartment to have a better shot for the camera so everybody can see it clearly. If you don't want to do that, just skip ahead to 2:24. Do you happen to know if the same procedure applies for replacing the cabin filter on a Renault Fluence (2010 model) right hand drive model? I own one and am unsure where the compartment is located. Is it the driver or passenger side footwell ? Thanks.

Great video but I really don't know how did you remove that plastic trim so easy and for all who will try this: be careful because those plastic pins/clamps are so fragile. I think this is a much more dificult way to do this. Just remove lower plastic cover and from there you can remove the filter.
Good video but I didn't manage to find the cover and the old filter anywhere down there under the glove compartment, just a bunch of wires and electric motors (?) - mine is a Mégane 1.6 year 2010 LHD - with air condition, maybe that version is different from the one on the video? However, the filter they sold me at the parts shop, according to the serial number, is identical with yours but I cannot find a place for it :D
I'm not suer but there are some videos on youtube about it. Unfortunately it seems it is quite hard to reach - behind the dashboard. Let us know how it went.
@TheMrBennit Hi, here is a link for the video we made on this topic for Laguna 3. There are some differences between Laguna and Megane, but maybe it will be helpful for you: ruclips.net/video/oNHvtI_8A5w/видео.html
Does the megane with air con have the pollen filter in the same place. As I looked and there's no filter there. So I'm wondering if someone didn't replace it or air con specs don't have the pollen filter in the same place.
You can reach the cabin filter on the UK model from the driver's side, but we think you will have to remove the clutch pedal in order to replace the filter.
You don't have to, They removed the storage cover to get a better view for the camera. You can replace the filter by just taking off the plastic on the side.
Hi Ian! We are not quite sure because we didn't have an opportunity to deal with this on the right hand drive model, but we have seen this video where man is changing the cabin filter on a right hand drive megane 3 RS. Here is the link if you want to check that video: ruclips.net/video/EXwkwLKrCbo/видео.html
@@BbrosAuto just had mine changed in UK, you will have to remove the clutch pedal to be able to get your cabin filter in out. much tricky UK version than European version.

You don't need to remove the glovebox, the filter can be changed from the underneath of glovebox , there is plenty of space to remove the two screw of the filter cap, then extract the filter The only logical sense to remove the glovebox for this operation is to have space for filming
Sorry , i didn't read the discription, is true that is more easy to change the filter with the glove box removed , but it will take more time to remove all the pieces
False ! You don't need to extract the glove compartment !! There is a direct access. A bit tricky but with the right good quality filter that's flexible it's quick !!

Exactly, but we already stated that in the description. We try to film our videos so everything can be seen clearly. if someone is doing this for the first time, we believe it's useful to see the location like this.
Yes, you can. I've done it just last month. But this video is created according to the filter manufacturer's instructions on how it should be done - step by step. Thanks for watching. Glad the video helped you!
The Renault is really badly designed. Some idiot wrote off my hyundai i30 which there was just 2 pins in the glove box which gave you access to the air filter. This car I am probably going to have to get a mechanic to do it because I dont have the tools (or the lower back health) to do it myself. Even the cup holders in the megane dont fit cups and even the cups that do fit, if you use the key slot the key dangles into the cup. Just extremely poor design tbh.
One of the best comments for the job was "advanced joga session" 😆. Last week I changed the filter again, tried it without removing the glove compartment and it was quite a difficult joga session, I have to admit. It's been more than a year since the previous change and it was full of dirt. Manufacturer of the new filter I have used actually had the exact same instructions as this video.
This is how shite cars are built you can have to pretty much remove it all to fit s fucking sir filter or any other components. Just be straight forward clips on and off.
Yes we know and we state that in the description of the video. We decided to do this with the glove department removed because it can't be tricky for someone less experienced to deal with this with reduced workspace. Thank you for watching :)

Ok so where is it located in uk models. I have 2012 1.6dci megane and it isnt in behind glove compartment...
You can reach the cabin filter on the UK model from the driver's side, but we think you will have to remove the clutch pedal in order to replace the filter.
So after dismounting half the car you can finally reach the filter. And i thought my previous car was worse, lol
You don't have to, They removed the storage cover to get a better view for the camera. You can replace the filter by just taking off the plastic on the side.
