  • @Eragonnogare
    @Eragonnogare 2 года назад +19

    I wonder if I'm the only one waiting for the hilariously glorious day where we get a Mega XL Caliburn. If a Caliburn with a normal like k25 spring can get 220 or so with half darts, I would hope for over 100 even with Mega XL. Bonus would be that this would allow for a high power Caliburn to be under fps limits for many places, like my personal main HvZ - 120 fps Mega XL darts sound like they'd be prime for actual long range sniping with an fps cap.

    • @CaptainSlug
      @CaptainSlug 2 года назад +11

      The plunger tube material would have to be much bigger since the bolt arms moving out wide enough to straddle a Mega XL would make them not fit inside the 1-3/8" ID plunger tube.
      The Mega Caliburn can only manage 130 fps typically, so Mega XL won't work without more plunger volume. Don't expect me to make a Mega XLburn anytime soon given how few Megaburns I sell annually. The bow I'm working on will have Mega XL as an option, and that spigot will also be backwards compatible with the FLAK.

    • @Eragonnogare
      @Eragonnogare 2 года назад

      @@CaptainSlug Woah, thanks for replying! I guess it does make sense that a Mega XLburn would be an extremely niche thing. I guess it would make sense that a Mega XLburn would require the plunger tube, and I guess by extension the rest of the blaster, to be significantly bigger, only seems right for the comedically massive ammo lol. I'll definitely be looking out for that new stuff you're working on, mega xl and its possibilities as a "low" fps long range ammo type are very exciting to me, so things that will be able to use it from big name high quality creators like you are very cool!

    I’m curious how the magwell holds up. I had a DevilZ magwell that broke on the rear where the plunger tube is held. I’m not sure how it happened.I am curious as to how solid the two piece magwell is. I would think that having it be in three pieces like the previous version would reduce stress on the entire magwell and make obtaining replacement parts easier.

  • @ZakLeek
    @ZakLeek 2 года назад +2

    I'd love to know if the "passive magwell adapter" is compatible with all standard elite magwells, it would make converting my blasters to take talons much easier! I really like this blaster overall, it seems to me like a huge improvement over the caliburn with the flat bars instead of rods. Thanks for the review! 💜🧡

    • @CaptainSlug
      @CaptainSlug 2 года назад +2

      It can't be installed in older caliburn magwells since the other half of it is the side-by-side mag releases at the back of the magwell. The internal profile of the magwell also has to be cut out a bit at the rear to fit the square end of the talon mags. I do however have remixes of the older magwells available that allow this type of magwell to be added. So you can print and install one, or order the parts to do so.

    My take might be a bit more controversial, but as I see it, it's a regression from the Caliburn U in all core functions. The flat aluminum bars bend easily (and I have had to straighten them multiple times both in assembly and after even minor drops), the entire action is rougher, and assembly is far more difficult. I'd rather see the new features (passive magwell adapter, airbrake) retrofitted to the Caliburn U.
    It's better than the classic rod versions, but I would take a Caliburn U over a Cali 4 eight days out of seven.

    • @CaptainSlug

    • @iEATW0RLDS
      @iEATW0RLDS 11 месяцев назад

      It's been done. The larger parts are tricky to print, and the overall result is heavier - You're basically making everything with 100% Infill, but with the right resin choices it's actually substantially stronger.
