New drinking game....everytime he says "OK guys" or "Alright guys" take a drink...You'll be seriously buzzed less than 4 minutes in! LOL Seriously, great video.
Very nice work Dave, giving me heaps of ideas. Just finished an Expo with a couple of Comic book Artists. That kinda paint job as a background......... Brad sent me ;p Keep it up, looking good
Hey Dwayne...I ended up using a Vinal sealer..the reason is because I used a sharpie to outline the colors..using clearcoat would make sharpie run..the sealer does not..has a satin finish..im sure I could clearcoat over top of it if I wanted to just never did..holding up well
Is that just electrical tape you're using? Trying to find better solutions, as finding I get a decent amount of bleeding with any variation of painters tape...
I did this but using black red and white and did it in Eddie van Halen themed colors but of course the stripes are not exactly like his cause I used dawn dish soap to make the stripes but it made a really cool looking evh Frankenstein inspired paint job on a old wore out OLP guitar that is like the Epiphone version of the Ernie ball music mans but it's the cheaper version made by Ernie ball called OLP made by Ernie ball china they are like 300 dollar guitars but look identical to a Ernie ball music man evh red one is what it use to be bit the paint was nitro so it had tones of checking and cracks and worn through the paint completely in alot fo spots from me playing and practicing with it so much from the age of 9 till I was 14 until I got my first real quality high end guitar a Gibson Les Paul standard. So now since I have a giant collection of cool guitars I figured I might as well restore my very first guitar and turn it into a Eddie van Halen inspired OLP music man looking Frankenstein since Eddie van Halen was one of my influences and inspirations why I learned guitar in the first place and yes I did my paint job with high end quality guitar purpose nitro paints and clear coat so it will get beautiful checking like a Gibson or fender gets on those high end guitars instead of a ugly cheap looking checking you get from a very low quality nitro finish. It looks beautiful thanks for the dawn dish soap idea it helped me create a beautiful guitar thanks
But I used purpose made guitar nitrocellulose lacquer spray paint cans made for doing guitars and I amused guitar nitrocellulose lacquer high gloss clear and sealer there is two different types of top coats you put on one is a sealer and the next one is a high gloss clear its weird I know that sealer and clear coat are same things but the kit from steac said to use the top coat first then clear coat it if your wanting it to start checking as it ages or get the checking going yourself by using the heat gun and freezer or heat gun and computer duster aerosol air in a can you hold upside down and freeze the surface instantly to get checking on nitro. I have a few guitars that are not nitro and those will kt check or crack at all they will just chip paint chips and swirl marks into it I hate it but also it keeps guitars looking brand new for many years to go compared to nitro. But nitro looks way better in my opinion
Ductape on a paint project 🙈 acted surprised when gloss coat made it crackle. Gloss is a finish, not a paint. “Hey guys I learned this from Brad!”.... Does it nothing like how Brad did.
Lol Thanks for the kind words..Brad Featured this Guitar on his Channel and how I did it and he Loved it..I thought it turned out Great..the only thing I did different than Brad was a multi colored base coat..Thanks For Watching 🤘

Great Job!!!! Really liked how it crackled expectantly on you! What type of sealant did you use again?

Sometimes if you mix oil paint with water based paint you will get that crackle.
Is that just electrical tape you're using? Trying to find better solutions, as finding I get a decent amount of bleeding with any variation of painters tape...
Yes Electrical tape actually does work pretty good..I was out of masking tape and or painter tape..So I use the Electrical tape..didn't do bad
