It reminds me of what I thought I'd be able to achieve when I bought a ROMpler a long time ago: "Samples! Synthesis! This will be great!" But it was convoluted and limited and inspiration-killing. Instead, the Prophet X is fast, intuitive, inspirational, and sounds much, much better. Plus it's built like a tank and gorgeous to look at. It's a keeper for me.
You’re right. I’ve owned most of the classics (including those $30k classics), at one time or another, since the 80s. And this synth sounds best out of any of them, no joke.
The esq1 was my first DAW , had a really powerful sequencer and could do some nice quirky tones (great choir pad, "wavbel" tone , a usable piano and capable of a bunch of great analog style sounds) . One thing this has going for it that the ensonias lacked is a "knobby" analog interface. Im starting to think I want one
Thank you for taking the time to record all of this for people interested in buying the keyboard. That's what I love about your website, I was able to look up an obscure unit and knew how it sounded bc you had audio demos of every patch 👍
As someone with a PX it's nice to hear someone else play these presets in such a wide range of styles. I'm hearing presets here that I overlooked and thinking that I could use them. Really great demo!
@@gregorykulinski2186 No, because of the basic designs. Updates for the PX are rare anyway; there are still many unfixed bugs from the first firmware version.
All i care about is how good it sounds. Am using less layers and can make more unusual musical choices because even when you play discordant tones it still sounds beautiful. The sound takes you along wherever you need to go. Cues get rave reviews from clients. 👌 Especially if you send it your own wavesamples, it’s a beast.
It's a nice selection of presets, albeit a little predictable. I think the fun is in the editing of synths like these to make it sound like it's been dragged through the dregs.
This synth is def not predictable ...there's literally nothing on the market like it even in 2023 and that includes nord . People will realize it's powers 10 years later
I might be imagining it, but something about these patches sounds slightly better than when I play them on my new Prophet X (more organic/analog). Did you change them or are you going through some outboard gear? Could be just that your playing is much better than mine. :)
Except for its hardware, has a keyboard, has real analog synth voices, real analog filters, and all that is totally integrated w a stunning sample set. So yeah, just like omnisphere.
Not bad conception, but mistake in year (pianoforte 1700, Stratocaster 1952 (prototype) at Leo Fender's laboratory, Moog Minimoog 1970. Yet the keep producing pianos, Strats, and Minimoogs/clones of it.
@@adamtitz2348 Exactly. You have made my point. The point being, there's no "mistake in year". People who are new to a certain sound, and like it, will buy the product.

And it can do all kinds of crazy stuff, like FM with samples through the mod matrix. 👌 You can’t do that on most ROMplers
The sounds are so moving , so rich , so beatiful. Great work , Im starting to think this is the best and greatest synthesizer on the market today.
It is. And the approach and development time and its library - altogether will never be topped.

it's like the D-50 turned to the dark side
It reminds me of an SQ80 with modern samples. Great for warmth and eeriness. The pianos are so smooth, and the strings are so rich and electric.
Same! The ESQ-1 and SQ-80 were fantastic synths. Great sample sounds, and true analog filters. Plus, poly AT.

Sounds gorgeous, there really is something special within thoose digital / analog hybrid engines.
Dropped in a collection of slow wave scans from PPG + Blofeld. Through this filter, it’s soo pretty, especially layered with VCO samples
Wow, I never heard this synth sing like this until now
Prophet X is amazing as are these sounds!
Everything sounds like horror/apocalypse. Maybe the synth should be called "Prophet of Doom".
You mean it sounds SPOOKY? In that, I agree, and that's what I definitely LIKE!
Kinda fits the times....
Exactly
Synths like this make me lazy cuz everything sounds so damn good I never make music I just explore and annoy my gf

My pleasure!
Horror Film is insane. I’m intrigued in the Prophet X because of that one alone.

Glad you like it!
It's a xxi century synth from the first patch to the last. Its way ahead of time a gamechanger in every way
The Quantum is a 21st century synth; the PX isn‘t.
@@RayyMusik It's that because of updates?

You gonna burn the lab down with those 🔥 freq experiments! Thanks 🙏🏼 for sharing your learnings!
🙌
Suspension Cloud definitely my fave!!
A fantastic preset ! You are right.
And it starts at 4:20 🔥
Awesome sounds
Really nice! A wonderful instrument.
Glad you like it!
That Flamenco guitar is gold !!! Great video !! Many thanks,
Name one synth or keyboard that sounds this good and can do what this can do... I'll wait Moog one Nope, nord stage Nope ....I'll wait👂?
The closest is probably the Waldorf quantum. Moog one is a completely different beast.
So cool!
absolutely love 10:04
Gracias por este video tengo este sintetizador y es increíble

Sequential should release a desktop.
First. Love the Prophet.
Hey Synthmania, Is the PX sound bank available to buy somewhere? Thanks !

You have to program the prophet x to come alive .. that's why it is so much better than other keyboards
@@briann5001yep. And if you send it your own multisamples it gets even better 🔥
Please make a desktop version of this beast
It has a “Roland vibe” to it
Could it be the more versatile?
Ok I definitely underestimate this magnificent keyboard!!! My apologies
Would you still buy it, despite lack of updates?
Just wanna hear your thoughts.
@@gregorykulinski2186 yes, he would
Great sounds but where could I buy it ? The link in description doesn't work....
Rhode Island è fantastico
"Break My Stride" synths tutorial when?
Sounds exactly like the VS In parts.
Still waiting for a desktop module
You may be waiting forever. Out of production, sadly. This is going to be a serious classic.
very very sweet sweet instrument it makes me sweat
it's a bit omnisphere-ish, isn't ?
That's exxactly what it's made me think of. Samples as starting points for sound design, not for just playback.
Sounds more lush and organic, less ITB to me
Except it sounds marvelous
Except for its hardware, has a keyboard, has real analog synth voices, real analog filters, and all that is totally integrated w a stunning sample set. So yeah, just like omnisphere.

Yeah, the Summit costs 2K.
Wow, I still have not played the Sequential Prophet-X! Sounds fantastic!
