Great channel Jason. Hope Soto comes back to the Yankees. Cannot blame Hal Steinbrenner he is doing all he can to retain Soto. I think Soto personally made his decision already but just trying to settle the little things like opt outs. The money is there for Soto. It's a matter of what team he wants to play for. Go Yankees1
I know you have to make your videos and I love them. I’m looking to the future. I wish Clay the best of luck. I hope we see him in the World Series. Saying that I 10,000% agree with everything you said about Soto.
I will never miss "Cardiac" Clay as Yankees closer. However, I do think he was much better as a relief/setup man. Entering a game in the 6th, 7th, or 8th. I do wish him the best in Queens.
For all of his shortcomings he did rack up 30 or so saves which was a great contribution but the blown saves loomed larger by comparison naturally unfortunately. The inconsistent nature of his appearances decreased once he was moved to the middle relief role but that didn't justify the cost of his contract however. I wish him well at his new home in Queens though.
What we know is this Soto was here for a year with Judge in his prime, Stanton’s best year as a Yankee, out of nowhere dominant Gil, Cole gone half the year and a lineup that still had some questionable quality AND we made it to to World Series. I say that to say this, if he signs for 15 years and we make it to the World Series and fail ever year I would take that over whatever else the yankees can do with that money and the chance of not even making the World Series like we haven’t since 2009. Who knows what players the Yankees will sign if they don’t get Soto but we have no idea what that would bring as far as making it to the world series and giving the team the opportunity to win it every year. Soto did that with this years version of the Yankees, I think he gives us the best opportunity moving forward with Judge still, A full season of Cole, a more experienced Gil, a great season from Dominguez, a better Austin Wells and whatever else the Yankees will do.
Don't leave out the aspects of having a full season of contributions from Jazz next season and also legit 1st baseman and a new 2nd or 3rd baseman in addition to a new face in the outfield. I think the upcoming season will be a bit better than this one was and that's exciting to me.
If Soto wants $750 million, why not offer him $750 million for 20 years? The AAV would be significantly lower and Soto would get his money. Is that type of deal even possible?
I suspect the majority of teams will demand deferred salaries count salary cap which impacts draft picks. Dodgers one billion in deferred salary will financially destroy baseball.
Over all good numbers but when it matter most he would fold and in pressure situación you can argue he made them more difficult then needed I won’t miss him
What!? You’re crazy!! LMAO What you’re saying is true. But the way the Yankees used him, he was terrible. Why didn’t the Yankees think of this change to his role sooner?
If Hal said to Boras " We are "standing firm" on the highest contract ever given"...He is just going to the actual highest offer. If Hal really wants Soto, im not sure if I'd take that approach. If he has a line in the sand, then so be it. I think its fair to say the fanbase would gladly trade the coveted "most valuable franchise in all of sports" title for a World Series title.
@161riverave.4 who is arguing that? I'm saying I'd rather actually win one than be excited for the Steinbrenner's and the valuation on their franchise. It bothers me when a world series is lost. I couldn't care less if the team loses its most valuable franchise in all of sports distinction. It's clear Soto is going to the highest bidder. If Hal really wants him, he will have to have the highest offer. Otherwise, he would have inked the deal by now to stay. Who knows, maybe Boston is lurking with some 15/$800M deal waiting to drop on the table. Another 8-32 hours from now, we can all finally move on from this absurdity
@161riverave.4 Nobody is arguing that. I'm saying the fan base couldn't care less about the valuation of the franchise and the fact it's #1 in all of sports. And Soto doesn't either. He will take the top offer. It's just a matter of Hal giving it to him or not
Clay is a really good bullpen arm. A closer maybe not but I will give him credit, he stepped up and took the reins of a high pressure, high criticism job and for a good part handled it pretty darn good until he didn’t. Even then he didn’t complain and took his lumps. I think he was a still is a good pitcher. Hope to see him do well.
Anyone talking bout take it leave it or oh we need move on ect ect please stop lying to YOURSELF bottom line WE NEED SOTO BACK TO TRY AND WIN A WS PERIOD. Thats as plain as i can put it
I agree with you 100% on Soto. Give him offer and take it or leave it. The offers are getting ridiculous!

Dick Allen and dave parker in hall of fame
Thanks for the news. Thats good. Well deserved.
When he's off it's a nightmare

Not all of us
Miss Clay Holmes???? NAH!!!!!!!
I like Soto but your giving him the amount that could bring 3 top notch players in his place
@@chrisvazquez9966 like who?
Miss Holmes 😂😂😂
We stumbled into a pretty good closer ourselves
yes we sure did...

I totally agree with you Jasper. After all we’re doing if he wants to go to the Mets then let him go. Stop the bullshit and make up your mind.

What is the latest rumors on Soto
Jason are you going to stay in live tomorrow and the next days during the winter meetings ?? What's the plan
@@PicaflorChooff-u7l I’ll be live each day.
We will find out if he is a true Yankee
not me i find that impossible to believe we're better off without him
Any ideas on when the yankees will bolster any part of our 2025 team? Asking for a friend.
Miss Clay Holmes🤦
Why didn't they Yankees ever consider him as a starter? That may actually work.
You will miss Holmes
i think we will...

because Luke Weaver hadn't emerged as a legit replacement until late. thats why.
@@161riverave.4 can’t argue that point.
Miss Clay Holmes and reliever? Yes I will miss his performance as mid-reliever. As a potential starter, no thank you, but I wish him well.
Who the hell is gonna miss clay Holmes he comes in and can't pitch one inning yet along 6 or seven....
You might actually grow to Miss Juan Soto too
Not that much.
Happy Sunday, is today the day? If we don’t get Fried, would they consider Evoldi?
Clay bye bye bye don’t let the door hit you in the ass
We need lefties if leaves he must replace by another lefty bat or trade for one
Hey Jason, if the Yanks spend 50 mil a year on Soto, how do you think they’ll add too/ improve the team with the money they have left?
@@KendricS-q9g add pitching and 1B
i miss David Robertson and Chad Green more then Holmes
