John Constantine is basically the ultimate arcane trickster, maybe not the smartest or strongest, but absolutely the most clever spellcaster in DC. He blackmailed God into keeping him out of Hell or else he would organize the legions of Hell against Him, tricked Doctor Fate's Helmet of Nabu into being weighed against Anubis's scales and giving up its grip on John, and even tricked the Devil into drinking holy water before he could take his recently deceased friend's soul to Hell.
I thought the reason he couldn't go to hell was because he'd promised his soul to so many demons that they could destroy hell over who actually gets it
@@shinymetagross1666 Oh he is. He basically tells an Emissary of God that, because God is trying to hold off a war by keeping Hell fighting amongst itself between three equally viable claims to the throne, if John is sent to Hell and given a hundred years or so, he could create an organized Hell. Fearing this, God removes the tainted claims to John's soul and brings him back to life.
@@theduckgoesmoo he's got a reputation besides. an entire horde of demons was willing to fight zatanna and dr fate fled at the sight of constantine happening to walk by. Constantine explained that people just tend to die dealing with him

Zatanna: "Universes...?" Duck: "What are those, planets?" 3:16 "Oh so he's bad." Yes and no. Despite the "Evil Mutants" moniker he's an anti-villain in every sense of the word (Marvel would later drop the "evil" part, just making his group the Brotherhood of Mutants). His ultimate goal is a world where Mutants can live a life free of discrimination. But unlike his eternal frenemy Charles Xavier, he is perfectly willing to resort to terrorism to achieve that goal. But despite this, he's joined forces with the good guys on numerous occasions, and even led the X-Men in Xavier's absence a few times. 3:46 "So the movies really made her nuts." Once again, yes and no. She was originally written with just the whole bad juju powers, but later got stronger through the power of RETCONS! So her movie counterpart _is_ much more powerful than her original appearance, but is _severely_ lowballed compared to the comics. 4:52 Yog-sothoth is basically one of the bigwigs in the Lovecraftian mythos. 6:27 "What's a black matter bullet?" Exactly what it says on the tin, a bullet made of black matter. Basically it's an ordinary bullet that can tear through flesh like wet tissue paper. Of course in reality this is just comic book technobabble because dark matter is invisible to the human eye, and we clearly see Scarlet Witch holding a bullet in the panel they showed. 7:36 "how did they even figure that out?" Through a deus ex machina in the form of a mutant little girl who miraculously got the power to restore altered memories. _House of M_ was only a miniseries, not a permanent retcon, so the writers needed _something_ to move the plot along. 10:05 Yeah, superhero books in that era tended to be anthology series, rather than focus on any individual hero. No, this was when superhero comics were more willing to cut loose and make shit up without even attempting to make it sound plausible. One feat Pre-Crisis Superman was able to perform (that Death Battle has cited multiple times) was being able to _sneeze solar systems away._ Sidebar, Zatanna might have performed the most impressive feat in all of Death Battle: being able to get Batman to openly humiliate himself on stage by singing "Am I Blue". And this was WITHOUT magic.
Wait, let me get my glasses! Got it. Well, actually, was the villain witch goddess (dont remember her name) that forced Bat, and he only did it because it was for Diana.
@@cjgameplay3692 Circe. And from what I remember, the whole episode was a setup because Kevin Conroy has a good singing voice but he's cast as a character who would never sing so they had to contrive an elaborate reason to do so.
Jocelyn the intern had her own series for a while called the "Desk of Death battle" where she just talked about some of the weirdest things they found while researching characters for Death battle. It has episodes such as: Santa is the strongest Mutant Mario flashes Peach and Tony Stark's Tumor is smarter than you I really liked the format of that show. You should check it out at some point
During the analysis I was going to to root for Wanda, but before the fight I had a thought. "Wait. This is reminding me a lot of Dr. Fate vs Dr. Strange. Fate won that fight! Zatanna! Zatanna! Zatanna!" So that's my reasoning for choosing Zatanna.
I always think of Zatanna as a kind of sister to Batman from what I knew about her prior to this battle. Also there’s a bit of a difference between confidence issues and sanity issues for downsides. And that’s where it more or less fell. They were juggling and crushing universes by the way. They look like the same design of the universe bubbles from Dragon Ball Super. I had NO IDEA Zatanna was this strong. (They basically boiled it down to Zatanna and Scarlet Witch having very close speed and strength feats) Not going to lie, I was kinda pleasantly surprised. BIG hint for how the fight fell. Doctor Fate and Doctor Strange were both repeatedly referenced. And well…the respective references lead to the same fight result.
Actually, the scaling for Zatanna was incorrect. Zatanna actually doesn't scale to Prayala. Zatanna even admitted herself that it would be stupid to fight her. The feat that Death Battle showed was because of a temporary amp that Zatanna recieved. Death Battle once again has taken a feat out of context.
@@RedDusk369 dude death battle didn’t even say she could defeat her they just said she could hold her back, you’re telling us they take feat out of context, and then you turn around and do the same, hypocrite
@@RedDusk369 also I read the comics, while it is true that Zatanna was temporarily amped, she wasn’t when holding back Pralaya, this came from the comic panel itself “But the farther I get from the World Tree, the more that fire will fade... So why not use it all here and now: Destroy the Gremlins, seal the ruptures."
@@shadowman9081 Yeah, exactly, Zatanna wasn't fighting Pralaya was the intent on beating her head on, she was just holding her back, that tends to be the case with weaker characters if they can't beat the stronger one. The way Death Battle hyped it, they made it sound like she was powerful to fight Pralaya.
DC Fan: Yay Zatanna! Marvel Fan: DC Characters are so overpowered they’re practically broken. DC Fan: Superman IS pretty powe- Marvel Fan: Classic and Rune King Thor, Silver Surfer, Some versions of the Hulk, Sentry, King Hyperion, Beta Ray Bill, etc. ad nauseam. Could ALL murder stomp your Big Blue Boy Scout! DC Fan: So…hypocrisy then? Marvel Fan: Nuh uh, Superman is broken.
This was a fun one. I like both of these characters (at least in the comics, where Wanda is actually interesting imo...) so I loved seeing them go at each other like that. Fight was exactly what strange vs fate should have been.
When this fight was announced, I thought it was gonna be a boring episode with an obvious winner (I’m talking about Scarlet Witch). I was rooting for Zatanna, because she just seemed like the more interesting character. So when it turned out that she ended up winning, I popped off, heck, a lot of other people did as well. I love this episode, because it made me a fan of Zatanna, for how entertaining she was during the whole fight, & while it still has its flaws, I feel comfortable with giving this a 9/10.
Same here. I wanted Zee to win, but I knew that Wanda was broken (Magically, not Mentally). I knew that Zee was strong, but not reality breaking strong. It was a welcome surprise to see that both had the same level of power, at that point my opinion on who would win changed to Zee, because I knew that Wanda was broken (Mentally, not Magically).
Pre chisis Superman is one of the most powerful version of Superman that exist. Pre chisis Superman once sneezed away a solar system, can fly faster then infinity & has the ability to give himself any ability he want.
Post Crisis Superman was able to trade blows with Suberboy Prime who's punches are so powerful that they retcon entire timelines. Sneezing away a universe isn't all that impressive.
@@RedDusk369 His punch changed reality because he was in a special place where he could that not that he can do that all the time, God so many of you take feats out of context
Well good thing with Jonathan is that his part in Jojo is only 9 episodes. So if and when you get to Jojo you can probably watch the next Death Battle pretty soon after.
19:53, Yeah, Death Battle has a very bad habit of showing a feat when showing the initial abilities of a fighter, then completely disregard it or make it not as impressive as they made it sound when they first tell you. The best example is the Winter Soldier vs. Red Hood fight, where they make an entire point of Red Hood breaking Supergirls grip, to then say to not overthink it. The thing is, in the actual comic that feat is from, Supergirl was genuinely suprised that Red Hood broke out of her grip in the first place, grabbed him again even harder a little bit later, and he still broke out of that. She was so confused to how he was able to do it, she used x-ray vision to scan his body to see if he was even human.
buuuuuuut as someone with a bit of a martial arts background, that's not how breaking grip works. it's mainly about leverage and pulling at the right angles to exploit limits of the body. not raw strength. so yeah. don't overthink it
I would say, when you catch up with Demon Slayer, and start a poll for what your next anime to react to should be, include Jojo. I wouldn't be surprised if it were to win by a landslide, and the sooner you watch it, the sooner you can go back and watch the Jojo Death Battles that you've skipped, as well as reacting to various other Jojo-related content.
Pre Crisis Superman is way stronger than main Superman. Remember Death Battle said in both Goku vs Superman episodes they thought it was a good idea to leave out Pre Crisis. That version of Superman is just Popeye
And you're officially up to date... for now. XD It's been a ride watching you blitz your way up through season 1 to now, so I'm looking forward to seeing you react to them as they come with the rest of us. :) Edit: Having a nearly 2-1 win loss ratios pretty good.
They always release a new death battle 2 weeks after the last one and Scarlet Witch Vs Zatanna came out last week so the next one you'll probably react to will be in 3 weeks
I think you'll be able to squeeze in Tanjiro vs Jonathan if you just binge the first 9 episodes of JoJo. Because yeah, that's how long Jonathan's screen time is, Part 1 is the shortest of all JoJo parts
Day 60 of asking you to react to Super Eyepatch Wolf's"No dad, wrestling is for grown ups! I-WHY WON'T YOU LOOK AT ME-"trilogy. 17:55 Those are universes. This officially makes this the largest scale Death Battle ever.
Looking at some of Zatanna's feats. Also she technically doesn't need to speak backwards to use magic, she's used magic without speaking multiple times, but back to her feats. Like when she defeated Zorr, a time tailor who could control reality and fought the spectre. Their fight was bizzare, with them growing bigger than planets and throwing each other through realities and messing with time. Or when she and other magic users powered up the spectre to match the anti monitor after he had destroyed the multiverse and was becoming an aspect of the presence. Or the when she made up 1/3 the power necessary to freeze time throughout the multiverse. Or when she held off Pralaya, the feminine side of the great evil beast and non existence itself, after Pralaya had destroyed all of creation. And that was from a mental projection of her and constantine she made after she had been erased from existence. It was stated by nightmare nurse that her magical potential was so great that she rarely uses even a fraction of her full power to preserve her normality. She's been stated to be one of the most powerful sorcerers in all dimensions and even the quintessance, a group of 5 cosmic beings that oversee the multiverse, count her as a powerful future ally. Zatanna doesn't often get big flashy displays of power but this is mostly because, as stated by her, when you deal with magic it can be hard to maintain your sense of normality. This is why she holds back a lot of her power. But the very fact that she was able to overcome the upside down man, while in his own magical dimension, is incredibly impressive. The upside down man is the shadow of Hecate, the first being of magic to form from the godsphere during the beginning of everything. Hecate was the most powerful of the gods, they all feared her power. When she looked upon the upside down man she created a barrier between the positive multiverse and trapped him in the dark multiverse. Hecate and the upside down man are practically magic itself and Dr Fate mentioned that the upside down man's magic was potent because it drew directly from the source, aka God basically. This is definitely an outervsal feat, one of a few she's done. When she had chaos magic she actually ripped apart of the comic book panel and destroyed it. This was technically an amp since she was given it by mordru.
So what exactly do you mean by sense of normality? Does she get mentally disoriented when she uses her full power? Cause so far, even with her best showings, she has still remained the same unlike Wanda who straight up was so mentally broken that Doc. Strange used the Eye of Agamotto itself.
Pre-Crisis Superman was so OP, he could destroy solar systems by SNEEZING!!! The Crisis on Infinite Earths event was the writers' reset button on the the OP heroes. It was reaching Dragon Ball levels of story powercreep.
14:50 I may be a tad bit late but John Constantine is a super cool occult detective and magic user in DC. Hes well known for basically rolling nat 20s on charisma checks and getting out of crazy situations like selling his soul to 3 demons of hell in order to avoid death. Loved the video BTW
Ok they got a bit complex with scarlet witch they retcon her alit In some versions she is magnetos daughter In some versions she is a mutant It matters which comic universe u in
13:05 anything pre-crisis means stupidly overpowered. Essentially almost Popeye level of world manipulation. They showed a panel of Superman sneezing away a solar system
@@theduckgoesmoo Crisis on infinite earths is a story where the main villain is Anti-Monitor, who can destroy universes like nothing. He wants to destroy the entire Multiverse. So all heroes and villains across the Multiverse united to stop him. Flash (Barry Allen) saved the day but was trapped in Speed Force Dimension for years. Because reality was destroyed during the fight, it was reset, it was created other Multiverse and heroes don't remember the events during the crisis. This what is called post crisis.
@@theduckgoesmoo technically the anti-monitor succeeded. he ate the entire multiverse save four universes, which were broken. the universes repaired themselves, and anyone who didn't fit in was erased from existence, save a handful of exceptions. like psycho-pirate, who spent the rest of his life remembering a reality that never existed and knowing he could vanish at any second. the anti-monitor went on to become an occasional returning villain.
You should check out the DCAU if you want to know DC characters without the time investment comics demand. It's way better than most of their live action movies. Particularly Justice League and its sequel series Justice League Unlimited feature a ton of their characters done right.

You know, I'll give you the lazy answer that Death Battle Defaults to but... Because Comics. Stuff gets VERY wild in comic book lore, and every couple years the universe or multiverse seems to be at risk from one thing or another XD
14:53 Man, i just love John Constantine. Definitely my favorite DC character, and there is just alot of crazy stuff about him to. He is also a really cunning guy, and pretty dangerous. He also has a sucky life filled with misery.
One of the purposes of the crisis on infinite earths event was a reboot to make many of the heroes, not the least of them being superman, more 'grounded' and less powerful. Pre-crisis superman was the superman who destroyed galaxies with a sneeze. Pre-crisis is the definitely more powerful stupid broken version.
Cool think the composer did here and has been doing a bit recently is homages to the musical scores from previous battles with connected characters In this particular case, the score echoes "A Strange Fate", the Dr. Strange vs Dr. Fate battle, seeing as it's yet another Marvel vs. DC sorcerers fight And in another, Madara vs Aizen's score "Hollow Dreams" echoes the leitmotif of "Dangerous Gaze", the score of Sasuke vs. Hiei, the connection being the two Uchihas He's even incorporated the same leitmotif into fan-requested matchup scores featuring Uchiha clan members
All right, now that you're (kinda) caught up on Death Battle, I recommend Linkara's Secret Origin Month which gives the comic beginnings of the most popular characters in comics.
I can't wait for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse Of Madness AKA MOM. You or anyone should give a look at Wandavision. I also like Zantanna witch sucks she's been push into the background a lot. DC has been giving her the short end, by giving her in animated TV shows and movies as minor appearances. The only Live Action she been in was Smallville (Superman Prequal) and it was only one episode out of 200 and that was back before 2010. I heard rumors that she's finally getting movie on HBO Max and its about time. Duck's Record 76 W 47 L (IC 1 In A Roll) Highest Streak: 7 Me: 38 W 31 L Damn
Also, no. Superman was 'nerfed' in the Crisis of Infinity Earth Event XD Pre-crisis superman just... did things. Like shoot tiny supermans from his palms. Or sneeze and blow planets away. You know, comic book nonsense. Post Crisis is... slightly tamer. Slightly XD
And with this, you are now officially keeping pace with all the other death battles (minus the ones you skipped). Now that you’re caught up, maybe you’ll give Smash Bracket or Terminal Montage’s videos a look?
I remember seeing Zatanna in a few shows growing up but i didn't realize she was THAT broken of a character. and, yes, I wanted her to win after realizing what she can do. i like Marvel more but DC hits different.
Next Death Battle - Tanjiro vs Jonathan Joestar - is next week. Death Battles show up every other week with the week in between taken up by previews of both combatants, so the next Death Battle you can (possibly) watch will be in three weeks.
OK. Just for more expectations, they’re going to leave quite a few things out in these death battles. It’s nothing really new. Still though, this one has to be one of the most all powerful battles I have ever seen. People who could say something and it happens might as well be literal gods.
"Pre-Crisis? I think that version's weaker?" Um, yeah, not quite. Pre-Crisis is generally considered way more powerful than modern Superman. (Also, those were universes, not planets. Great reaction!)
I think they forgot Chuck Norris and Segata Sanshiro are still fighting which is probably why they are not including them in quick clips of battles that are taken in space.
"Both characters have lost their minds" Well no not at all, losing belief in one's self is something ordinary people do everyday, there's a huge difference to Wanda rebuilding a reality as she wants it and forcing others to live through it while Zatanna just needed a good bit of time to rebuild the faith she has in herself, one was a bit depressed for a little and the other ripped apart reality in her wrath
god I wish people would stop the "whoever powers up first loses" argument, it's so stupid. In this case Wanda literally just got mad, if anything the first one to power up was Zatanna, as she made the killing blow by reversing Wanda's magic and using it as her own. This is also another fight where they left nothing relevant from the verdict out in the analysis. They both say and write several times that using the Life Force tears apart Wanda's sanity before the fight starts, and everything else with Doctor Strange and Emma Frost is just to elaborate on that. They're obviously not saying that Wanda is secretly weaker than they originally claimed or anything like that, if that was the case then they wouldn't have stated both before and after that part in the post-fight verdict that they were equally strong.
John Constantine is the greatest magical trickster in DC he’s not the most op character in terms of power but he’s the ultimate con artist that can scam or hustle his way in and or out pretty much anything like Batman’s plot armor level but by way of silver tongue and magical hustle though the people around him en up paying for his mistakes a lot of the time. The Specter is a very powerful magical entity basically a fallen angel that to achive forgiveness after siding with Lucifer in the rebellion agains The Presence(God) was appointed by The Presence to be his new angel of wrath to deliver devine punishment. He was was forced into taking a human host to operate and ground him though he doesn’t need it kinda limits him. When Christ was crucified he went ballistic wanting to end humanity but Michael stopped him and told him the decree that he need to be bound to a host from there on.
There Are Some Mistakes In This Video...It Was Stated That Life Force Was Wanda's Power.Wanda's Powers Weren't At Her Peak In House Of M...Her Peak Was In Darkhold Omega And The Trial Of Magneto...She Literally Became Omniscient, Immortal And She Is Balanced Wheel Moving Between Life And Death. She Reunited Her Future,Present And Past.

They made it clear that both magic users were equal in power so I based the winner on their mental strength, and Wanda is definitely two, no three cards short of a full deck on her best days while Zatanna only has her daddy issues and she has moved passed those. Oftentimes times whoever can keep their cool in battle better wins. Also Planck time is the smallest theoretical amount of time we could measure. It's about 5 billionths of a billionth, of a billionth, of a billionth, of a billionth of a second. So yeah, anyone who move in that amount of time is stupid fast.
plank time is slow in DC. scarlet and zatanna reacted to beings who move at plank time but habe been blitzed numerous times. DC speedster and superman laugh at plank time speed as they have all moved at faster than a plank instant and showcased many feays beyond immeasurable in speed.
Most of my knowledge of Wanda comes from X-Men rather than the Avengers. Magneto is like the big bad of the X-Men franchise, fed up with the abuse and bigotry that mutants face on a daily basis he decided to rule over humans deeming mutants the superior species, so him adopting Wanda and Pietro, as well as his work to make their reputations better is a great example of the X-Men’s themes on humanity. The Phoenix Force is a cosmic entity where all life springs from as well as a harbinger of the end times, able to cut and regrow existence as well as destroy it. Being the nexus of all psionic energy it usually needs a host and Jean Grey, one of the X-Men and a psychic mutant, is the most well known and one of the most powerful. Wanda being able to match that amount of power is what instantly made me think she had an edge in the competition. Until Pralaya showed up of course, that made me question who would win real quick since that’s Phoenix level. 😂
You should watch some of the animated dc shows. Like Justice League from 2001 and justice league unlimited. Those can help you learn more about dc characters. Plus those shows are really good. Maybe check out the dcau movies.

Just so you all know, Pralaya is not canon, and never was. She was never seen, heard from or mentioned ever again after her first appearance, and in the current Dark Crisis storyline, The Great Darkness(The Primordial Darkness referred to in the video) was stated in-canon to be the primordial emptiness beyond creation. Whether or not they decide The Great Darkness and Pralaya are the same character or if Pralaya is just retconned away entirely remains to be seen.
The thing is with marvel and DC, when it comes to street level heroes, marvel almost always wins, spiderman beats batman, iron fist beats almost anyone. but when you go to higher levels, reality tier, gods, shit like that. DC is just TOO ridiculous, props to them for still making it entertaining, that Zorr vs Zatana fight is artistic genius
Superman is definitely busted but there are other characters who are almost if not just as busted as him like Mazinger z who a version of consumed a vast majority of the multiverse he lives in then his pilot who's an extension of himself compressed the remaining multiverse into a singular universe
So he's just a MCU Fan not a Marvel fan and I'm not just talking about Comics but ur Superheroes and Supervillains, like How do you not know about the Phoenix Force or Xmen? Do you know Wolverine? 13:10 "So he's weaker...?" No, this was when superhero comics were more willing to cut loose and make shit up without even attempting to make it sound plausible. One feat Pre-Crisis Superman was able to perform (that Death Battle has cited multiple times) was being able to _sneeze solar systems away._
Sidebar, Zatanna might have performed the most impressive feat in all of Death Battle: being able to get Batman to openly humiliate himself on stage by singing "Am I Blue". And this was WITHOUT magic.
Wait, let me get my glasses!
Got it.
Well, actually, was the villain witch goddess (dont remember her name) that forced Bat, and he only did it because it was for Diana.
@@cjgameplay3692 You're right, it WAS Circe. My goof.
@@cjgameplay3692 Circe. And from what I remember, the whole episode was a setup because Kevin Conroy has a good singing voice but he's cast as a character who would never sing so they had to contrive an elaborate reason to do so.
How did she get him to do that?
@@theduckgoesmoo she turned wonder woman into a pig and would only change her back if Batman sang.
Jocelyn the intern had her own series for a while called the "Desk of Death battle" where she just talked about some of the weirdest things they found while researching characters for Death battle. It has episodes such as:
Santa is the strongest Mutant
Mario flashes Peach
and
Tony Stark's Tumor is smarter than you
I really liked the format of that show. You should check it out at some point
Hmmm those are very interesting topics
During the analysis I was going to to root for Wanda, but before the fight I had a thought. "Wait. This is reminding me a lot of Dr. Fate vs Dr. Strange. Fate won that fight! Zatanna! Zatanna! Zatanna!" So that's my reasoning for choosing Zatanna.
You see I want to think like that but I’m not familiar enough
Yeah but that battle is infamous for being.... iffy
This battle did what that battle did wrong, right.
17:56 Those were entire universes this is literally the most destructive death battle as of yet.
Yea
“Even though I’m behind her, because I’m a Zelenak.”
Boy, wouldn’t we all like to get behind her. New meaning to “lucky duck” on that one…
Oh lord
I didn’t notice any of the Dr strange vs Dr fate references, can you point it out?
Actually, the scaling for Zatanna was incorrect. Zatanna actually doesn't scale to Prayala. Zatanna even admitted herself that it would be stupid to fight her. The feat that Death Battle showed was because of a temporary amp that Zatanna recieved. Death Battle once again has taken a feat out of context.
@@RedDusk369 dude death battle didn’t even say she could defeat her they just said she could hold her back, you’re telling us they take feat out of context, and then you turn around and do the same, hypocrite
@@RedDusk369 also I read the comics, while it is true that Zatanna was temporarily amped, she wasn’t when holding back Pralaya, this came from the comic panel itself
“But the farther I get from the World Tree, the more that fire will fade...
Zatana is the fish-netted goth GF everyone warned you about
Magician more than Goth
@@anarchomando7707 Why not both ?
“They taste like pennies in my mouth and I’m all about that schmoney”
If you get that reference I love you
that'd be Raven tho.
I was never warned about her....my divine colleagues are above such trifle.
DC Fan: Yay Zatanna!
Marvel Fan: DC Characters are so overpowered they’re practically broken.
DC Fan: Superman IS pretty powe-
Marvel Fan: Classic and Rune King Thor, Silver Surfer, Some versions of the Hulk, Sentry, King Hyperion, Beta Ray Bill, etc.
Hold up ,are tou saying that Wanda in the mcu is not interesting? Now that's one big bullshit
Pre-crisis Superman is overpowered since he can sneeze Sola Systems away, granted it really didn't matter much in this fight.
Give it to Kyle that when they said she can destroy you by just thinking to literally sing his song of simping for not existing to say "pls do"
Oh no that’s not simping…. That’s… yeah… sadness
Duck no, pre crisis Superman is WAY stronger than current Superman. He's the one that destroyed a galaxy by accident because he sneezed.
Congrats, you have now officially caught up to DEATH BATTLE.
That version of Superman is just Popeye
he once broke infinity by moving too fast.
Basically all the amount of bs you can give to a superhero is what they did to superman before rebooting it lmao
And you're officially up to date... for now. XD
It's been a ride watching you blitz your way up through season 1 to now, so I'm looking forward to seeing you react to them as they come with the rest of us. :)
Edit: Having a nearly 2-1 win loss ratios pretty good.
They always release a new death battle 2 weeks after the last one and Scarlet Witch Vs Zatanna came out last week so the next one you'll probably react to will be in 3 weeks
Oh nice!
I think you'll be able to squeeze in Tanjiro vs Jonathan if you just binge the first 9 episodes of JoJo. Because yeah, that's how long Jonathan's screen time is, Part 1 is the shortest of all JoJo parts
Pre crisis superman was when he was at his most powerful. Because once he sneezed and turned a solar system to dust.
Ok they got a bit complex with scarlet witch they retcon her alit
In some versions she is magnetos daughter
In some versions she is a mutant
It matters which comic universe u in
13:05 anything pre-crisis means stupidly overpowered. Essentially almost Popeye level of world manipulation. They showed a panel of Superman sneezing away a solar system
What was the crisis?
Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman movie and I stand by that
We did it lads, he caught up
Her massive grin at the end tells you everything you need to now. She was laughing and playing the whole time.
There are so many "who"s and "what's that"s in this one from you that my brain hurts. I'm too tired to be the guy who writes out the corrections and clarifications via timestamp today. I think I'm gonna take the day off. Transfer my calls to the secretary.
Okay let them know where to find me
17:48 those are universes
You know, I'll give you the lazy answer that Death Battle Defaults to but... Because Comics. Stuff gets VERY wild in comic book lore, and every couple years the universe or multiverse seems to be at risk from one thing or another XD
14:53 Man, i just love John Constantine. Definitely my favorite DC character, and there is just alot of crazy stuff about him to.
He is also a really cunning guy, and pretty dangerous.
He also has a sucky life filled with misery.
13:05 haha~ no my friend. Pre-Crisis was "sneezing and blows up Planets" Superman. She is that powerful even now.
Did anyone catch the Mega mind reference when Zatanna said "presentation" as to when she was comparing powers to Scarlet Witch?
Wanda: Who are you?
Zee: I'm you but trained and mentally stable.
Wanda: So?
Zee: And everyone wanted me to win.
Now I want a Doctor Fate vs Zatanna battle lol
congrats you are caught up
One of the purposes of the crisis on infinite earths event was a reboot to make many of the heroes, not the least of them being superman, more 'grounded' and less powerful. Pre-crisis superman was the superman who destroyed galaxies with a sneeze. Pre-crisis is the definitely more powerful stupid broken version.
Cool think the composer did here and has been doing a bit recently is homages to the musical scores from previous battles with connected characters
In this particular case, the score echoes "A Strange Fate", the Dr. Strange vs Dr. Fate battle, seeing as it's yet another Marvel vs. DC sorcerers fight
And in another, Madara vs Aizen's score "Hollow Dreams" echoes the leitmotif of "Dangerous Gaze", the score of Sasuke vs. Hiei, the connection being the two Uchihas
He's even incorporated the same leitmotif into fan-requested matchup scores featuring Uchiha clan members
I got a good palindrome:
A nut for a jar of tuna
Be surprised if anyone knows where this is from.
Uhhh
Zatanna copying the “no more” spell to piss Wanda off before she got humbled was so iconic.
All right, now that you're (kinda) caught up on Death Battle, I recommend Linkara's Secret Origin Month which gives the comic beginnings of the most popular characters in comics.
Well congratulations, you are all caught up with Death Battle
I can't wait for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse Of Madness AKA MOM. You or anyone should give a look at Wandavision. I also like Zantanna witch sucks she's been push into the background a lot. DC has been giving her the short end, by giving her in animated TV shows and movies as minor appearances. The only Live Action she been in was Smallville (Superman Prequal) and it was only one episode out of 200 and that was back before 2010. I heard rumors that she's finally getting movie on HBO Max and its about time.
Duck's Record
76 W 47 L (IC 1 In A Roll) Highest Streak: 7
Me: 38 W 31 L Damn
Also, no. Superman was 'nerfed' in the Crisis of Infinity Earth Event XD Pre-crisis superman just... did things. Like shoot tiny supermans from his palms. Or sneeze and blow planets away. You know, comic book nonsense. Post Crisis is... slightly tamer. Slightly XD
7:35 - Wanda unintentionally created little girl that made them see the truth.
And with this, you are now officially keeping pace with all the other death battles (minus the ones you skipped).
Now that you’re caught up, maybe you’ll give Smash Bracket or Terminal Montage’s videos a look?
He made a poll on the community tab.
ERB is most likely going to be the next series he’ll react to.
This really could have gone either way. I was thinking a good opponent for Scarlet Witch would have been Raven, but Zatanna was a good one too.
Oooh that would be a good one!
Raven >>> Zatanna and Scarlet Witch
Its not even funny
20:33 no they said they were even in speed
A palindrome is a word, number, phrase, or other sequence of characters which reads the same backward as forward
I remember seeing Zatanna in a few shows growing up but i didn't realize she was THAT broken of a character. and, yes, I wanted her to win after realizing what she can do. i like Marvel more but DC hits different.
14:38 Lol, losing belief in yourself isn’t the same as losing your mind. It’s depression.
I mentioned it before but, personally, I'd like to see you react to episodes of Game Theory.
Next Death Battle - Tanjiro vs Jonathan Joestar - is next week. Death Battles show up every other week with the week in between taken up by previews of both combatants, so the next Death Battle you can (possibly) watch will be in three weeks.
Finally, you're all caught up
How does it feel to be caught up with death battle? At least for the most part.
Kinda nuts honestly like the channel has changed a lot since this was started
OK. Just for more expectations, they’re going to leave quite a few things out in these death battles. It’s nothing really new. Still though, this one has to be one of the most all powerful battles I have ever seen. People who could say something and it happens might as well be literal gods.
This was surprisingly accurate
@4:01 Honestly at this point I just assume every Marvel and DC herald has been able to dilate time or time travel at some point.
"Pre-Crisis? I think that version's weaker?"
Um, yeah, not quite. Pre-Crisis is generally considered way more powerful than modern Superman.
(Also, those were universes, not planets. Great reaction!)
9:25 That's a good day
12:09 I believe I'll hear Duck say a swear one day
Happy birthday!
Those were actually entire universes that Zatanna was juggling.
They literally said those balls were UNIVERSES.
god I wish people would stop the "whoever powers up first loses" argument, it's so stupid.
Takes a shot everytime he says "HUH" or "WHO"
Oh you wouldn’t have made it past season 1
When Christ was crucified he went ballistic wanting to end humanity but Michael stopped him and told him the decree that he need to be bound to a host from there on.
when will u watch epithet erased again
13:06 some debate about that. Most generally agree pre-crisis is stronger though.
To think you've now caught up, it's been a bit over a year since this journey began and I'm a little sad to see it end. But there's still a decent chunk of episodes to back track on, some you skipped for spoiler reasons, and others you skipped for other reasons. I'm gonna list all those now.

Wow there’s so many I skipped that I still have to watch at some point
You know its getting bad when death battle starting putting their ads in the middle
Please God no
You should watch some of the animated dc shows. Like Justice League from 2001 and justice league unlimited. Those can help you learn more about dc characters. Plus those shows are really good. Maybe check out the dcau movies.
pre crisis superman could make up powers on the fly and could sneeze solar systems away. so more powerful
So you’re saying she’s a “Queen” 15:04 (if you’re cultured, you’ll get it)
So, I noted down the episodes you skipped so you can go back to them eventually

Just so you all know, Pralaya is not canon, and never was. She was never seen, heard from or mentioned ever again after her first appearance, and in the current Dark Crisis storyline, The Great Darkness(The Primordial Darkness referred to in the video) was stated in-canon to be the primordial emptiness beyond creation. Whether or not they decide The Great Darkness and Pralaya are the same character or if Pralaya is just retconned away entirely remains to be seen.
This episode broke the the tie between DC and Marvel that was caught up from Batman vs Ironman. So DC and Marvel's wins are 13-12 in DC's favor.
Basically Pralaya is the mother of the omniverse is the very first God like being exist in Omniverse
Do you watch any other vs shows?
I’m gonna start minute melee!
Next battle after that is Thor vs Vegeta.
If you want to start JoJo now it's free on Tubi, a free streaming service that doesn't require an account.
Superman is definitely busted but there are other characters who are almost if not just as busted as him like Mazinger z who a version of consumed a vast majority of the multiverse he lives in then his pilot who's an extension of himself compressed the remaining multiverse into a singular universe
I recommend letting the death drag out for a bit so you have to watch them
So he's just a MCU Fan not a Marvel fan and I'm not just talking about Comics but ur Superheroes and Supervillains, like How do you not know about the Phoenix Force or Xmen? Do you know Wolverine? If not then watch the Xmen Movies plz they will help a little. Dc maybe not the biggest in Movies but it has everything else such as the Games and Animated movies and Tv shows, So it wouldn't hurt to learn some characters once in a while just a Fanly advice. Jean Grey known as Dark Phoenix in Marvel carries the Phoenix force.
"presentation" megamind movie
Spiderverse 2 part 1 is coming out October 7th 2022
OK looks like its been delayed to June 2nd 2023
They did have a superman versus goku fight. But that one got a lot of backlash. Not so much on the results I guess, but a lot of people arguing about Goku's true strength.
I suggest reacting to a video called "A Real Demoknight Tutorial" by iLander, pretty fun video.
Is it just me, or do the winners usually get talked about second/last?
