Long time watcher and lurker, but it's time to comment since it's always nice to see Gus, glad he's doing well. The plant community is so fast paced, we see new plants every day and don't know what survives and what doesn't with a lot of plant RUclipsrs so I appreciate seeing a familiar plant that is several years old. Keep up the great work, always loving your videos.

I bought the oil slick fern for my collection when it was first shown on this channel. It grows slowly for me but it's pretty harder. The metallic blue color becomes more pronounces as it gets bigger and older. A beautiful plant doesn't need to be rare to be appreciated. Whenever my husband enters the sunroom, I ask him which is his favorite and he always points at the prayer plant which I've had in my collection for many years. I'll never let it go.

I've had my blue oil fern for 2 years and it's more green than blue. I've experimented with light levels, heat, humidity, feed, soil/moss but it makes very little difference. Maybe not all blue oils are made the same, it still has hints of blue in the right angle and when wet. It's still a very beautiful plant! Other than the colour it has not been a fussy plant, lots of leaf growth.

I totally get your love for marantas - they are so cool, who wouldn´t like them? :-) It´s funny that my Lemon Lime is chilled, steady grower, has never any issues, and simply loves life, but the Red one is simply mad - it grows like crazy for months, then seems suicidal for a few weeks, than grows madly again...and like that we have 3 & 4th generation growing that is less mad, but still definitely not as chilled as the always cool Lemon Lime beside it 😀

Love my blue oil fern! Thanks for introducing me to this plant. Yours is looking very nice! Did you ever solve the issue with that importer that sent you a plant and you never rec'd and they would not refund your money? Sorry if you already discussed this and I missed it. The last I remember you were going to expose the importer if they did not resolve. I believe the importer had sent you a second plant and that one was lost also? I had a bad experience importing plants from Giromagi Nursery in Italy. They sell mostly succulents and cactus - I know, you are not really into these plants. One of my imports was lost and another import was found to have pests and was refused entry into the USA. Giromagi refused to refund me saying that importers need to learn how to import and Giromagi had no responsibility for the plants. Finally did get refunded thru claims on credit card/PayPal. I love their plant selection and great quality, but I can no longer order from them as now they will only accept bank transfer for payments, and they are saying up front that they will not be responsible for plants if they are refused entry into USA due to pest.
