QOTD: I got a Professional Study Degree in Graphic Design (here in Québec, it is consider a high school degree but with a specialisation) Right now i work in a printing house as a Graphic Designer in the Prepress departement

As far as getting a degree goes, if I could give any advice to anyone thinking of going to college, as someone who has been a hiring manager for multiple industries over the last 2 decades, go get a general degree, and use certifications to specialize into a field. In the US at least, a degree is nothing more than proof that you know how to learn. At least at the undergrad level. I don't care where you went to school, I don't care what degree you got, none of that matters to me, or any other hiring manager I have ever worked with. But if you have a degree in say, IT, and you have a half dozen certifications in IT, you'll stand out. Honestly, at this point, I might just consider the certifications of more value than the degree.
