I feel like 22. .. 0-0 in a position such as that feels so bad as king e7 keeps the king more active not like it ever will be needed on the kingside in the endgame and its not like you will get mated, your rook goes to b8 anyways after nd6 and when you trade there is no shenanigans cause you take and then take with the king. Yes you have to either go a6 na7 nc8 to trade the knight but keeping the king more active just helps with a lot of these varriations.
1:45 AMEN! Every time I visit my nieces/nephews I get DEATHLY ILL afterwards. I'm too afraid to make a big fuss about it but my siblings PLEASE teach them better hygiene if by some miracle you read this!
Castling was a huge waste of time, the king belongs on e7 in these structures to activate the rook and you lost several tempi trying to get the pawn back
@@lehel121 Engine not caring is kind of irrelevant. The engine is rated stronger than Magnus so can hold incredibly difficult endgames.... It's not just about what the evaluation is as 0.0 can mean vastly different things. One game 0.0 might mean that it's a simple position that should not be too hard to draw. In another game it might mean "there's one particular difficult to see line that will result in a draw that only an engine would see".
Answering the question "Why I'm such an idiot sometimes" The problem is that you have bad thinking habits. After your opponent played a move 1st question you should ask yourself is "what is his threat". And you should do it on EVERY move. In this game you forgot about it and started calculating some nonsense on the queenside while your bishop was trapped in one move. If you want to fix that you should seriously focus on your thinking algorithm.

I was quite shocked when you just put your head down and took with the queen instead of the knight and allowed the opponent all the counter chances he could hope for with a knight on d6. Super passive endgame once more.
Maybe he knows his openings really well - at least relative to his (much higher than mine) level - hence gets an early advantage but then can't convert?
@@valentinsaik6754 Yeah I'm commenting again after watching the end of the game. He does seem to miss stuff that he wouldn't normally miss when his time is running low. He is already playing a higher rated opponent in a time control that's fast for him plus the need to commentate - yeah it's tough.
More like better position straight out of the opening, then completely fumbling it for the rest of the game, continuously making slight inaccuracies until the position is unsalvagable.
31:13 I thought the game would still be an easy draw here after Rd8, Rxb7, Bb5. But engine finds crazy Rd8, Bf1!! and black is simply paralysed, +2 somehow despite black being up 2 pawns. I still think game would have been a draw after Rd8, Rxb7, it's unlikely opponent would have found Bf1, if he finds a move like that the procedure might be in place. Of course missing d7 and blundering a bishop means none of that matters
Also, at 29:26 I think you should have gone Rd8 instead of Be8 with good counter attacking chances down the d file keeping the king restricted to your d5 pawn.
Tough luck, this was a very strong opponent. 1750 Indian FIDE, 9/10 years old boy is never easy to face. Naturally these kids don't know much about the opening, but they're really good otherwise.
I know you're proud of your country and you have good reasons to be, but his opponent was just as good as his previous ones, Stjepan just horribly messed up (and that's ok).
@@LG-fp9ji This isn't national pride. I'm not much of a jingoist or anything. I've just played in these fields and know what they are like. @@rodneyfungus8249 Yes 100%. I've played against guys with 1800 rating in India who have 2450 Lichess Rapid. The entire pool is completely different. This is utterly ridiculous. Just look at his profile and do some basic research first instead of being such a fool. He has FIDE ID and name listed. Stjepan having an opening advantage and then losing is the overwhelmingly likely outcome in such a case, especially when Stjepan has the black pieces.
The time usage was a bit weird to be fair. for example 31:35 taking 20 seconds to play d7 is odd. d7 is literally the point of Rc7 so he should have seen d7 beforehand. But then again these are 15+10 games, so time usage doesn't mean much. I think we could have potentially gotten actual proof at 31:20.
