This was good. Being from New Orleans and Southern influenced, most bands have different arrangements. This is the magic of music. It takes you back to Rocky all the same.
Yall debating on who played it first but some things not worth the argument lol. TSU if y’all played it first , why this our first time hearing it and how would you expect somebody else to copy dis ?!?! Lol Our lives would’ve been JUST FINE without ever hearing this trash 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Its nice no doubt but could be better. Txsu is a band with a lot of potential. But Su version just draw tears to your eyes like got dam they killed it. Texas Southern on point tho.
Its crazy how other hbcu bands express so much hate and dislike to us (SU) but still find a way to try and mimic our every move. sounds like they listened to us play it and wrote what they heard...
Why isn’t there another recording of this from TxSU?? Even if SU “stole” or “took” this, SU made it sound 100 times better. TxSU arrangement sounds high schoolish. Great Job Mr. Simmons
Yes, TxSU has had this song in its book for sometime. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t get a chance to hear all of TxSU Book of music. Matter fact, you won’t here most schools Book of music. At least the schools who actually have a good Book of music. It’s been like that’s for years. Just because you didn’t hear doesn’t mean it wasn’t there! It is what it is. #NEXT
Uhhh..... going the distance.....this is not going that far just yet. Just don't play that when SU comes to town. Keep working there are some good moments in there.
Leave this arrangement to SU becus texas Southern still sounded unbalanced trying to play loud with no quality like Su Even tho texas southern been having the arrangement since 2012 but leave it to Su they sound 10x better
I guess some people don't realize that both The Ocean and The Jukebox was founded by two friends who went to the same college and had the same ideas for band so of course they are going to sound alike!
Christopher Maxwell no they did not. Stop saying that. Ben Butler graduated TnSU and UofMichigan. Doc Greggs graduated Southern University and Michigan State University. They knew each other after 1969 because of ties in Alpha Phi Alpha.
Folks be d-riding southern so hard , I agree this isn't that good of arrangement but ain't like southern didn't have bad arrangements bc I can name a lot of them 💯
Southern didn't create everything they just perfected the craft. Y'all know it sounds poo AF compared to SU & NCAT, keV could of left it in the band room like tsu did😂😂😂
This sound ok I guess...now I gotta head on over to hear su version again to get my fix. This here didn’t do it 🤷🏾♂️

Why the woodwinds all look depressed tho lol
Huey Freeman 😂😂😂
All over the place and this clear evidence The Jukebox influences is strong among band programs
Fabion Wilson txsu had this in the book years ago hop off the gas
Yeah okay but SU influenced them to play it now that's all I'm saying I'm not denying their book because I'm not affiliated with the band program
Fabion Wilson it’s Ben in the book for years they where going over this before they played FAMU in August there’s no influence at all
Son Rocko ok
Fabion Wilson 👍🏾👍🏾

I like listening to The Ocean and The Jukebox, but SU clearly has the better version and this coming from a BCC guy.
When the Jukebox play this..look like they created this song themselves. 🏆
Michigan gave it a go...but SU have this.
Ummm, oh Nevermind. Lol!!!
Kofi Hemmingway lmao 😂 I said the same thing
Not bad but i like SU version a bit better
Idk... A gotta show love for all my HBCU's but SU version was just magic bruh
Its crazy how other hbcu bands express so much hate and dislike to us (SU) but still find a way to try and mimic our every move. sounds like they listened to us play it and wrote what they heard...
+Torrence Edwards No. They've had it for a few seasons.
Torrence Edwards baby don’t worry bout them lol ...this sound like Going take a shit lol

Karless 1911 who's the goat
Antonio Conley
It’s only one band!!! Jukebox
Karless 1911 folks ain't all that , they can't be a goat if they received L's
Antonio Conley
Jukebox simply the best!!! We don’t take L’s Kids especially from a 20 piece band
Karless 1911 yall took a L from txsu, jsu, and talladega
Southern all the way case closed.
Let's be clear TxSU has had this song in its book since 2012. SU took this from TxSU. #FACTS
KMM Music & More Facts!!!
Really Kamau?! Lol 🤦🏾♂️..all good 💯
Why isn’t there another recording of this from TxSU?? Even if SU “stole” or “took” this, SU made it sound 100 times better. TxSU arrangement sounds high schoolish. Great Job Mr. Simmons
Jeffery Sharpe Jr. High schoolish how????
Brian Simmons - Yes brother! I won’t debate on RUclips. You’re like family. To others comments and opinions - I won’t entertain it. To each it’s own.
Finally!!!!!! Thank you kev

I went to bama state but this is elementary compared to su
Leave this arrangement to SU becus texas Southern still sounded unbalanced trying to play loud with no quality like Su Even tho texas southern been having the arrangement since 2012 but leave it to Su they sound 10x better
Nice TSU.

Hey @kellakev I thought that one kid that came from Oak Park was at Lane College that played trumpet. he's at Texas Southern now?
+Jeremy Massey He's been at TXSU the whole time.
Killa Kev Productions wow ok I thought that was him killin it at lane
+Jeremy Massey oh nah that's another Detroit screamer tho.
Killa Kev Productions ok cool. Y'all City out they're killin boy. I wish our city did a better job.
Omg they try to be like southern so much wtf. Leave this to southern please
Da Legend the ocean had the arrangement since 2012 they just never got a chance to play it bruh
Right but still trying to be like southern and they still sound like shit Playing loud without quality
GamingWithNicc how when southern got the idea from Texas southern bruh
Justo Ocean and how would you know that they got any ideas from the poo soul lmao
GamingWithNicc both gip and brian had a playful fifth using spofity and gip played this and the rest is history facts bruh
Folks be d-riding southern so hard , I agree this isn't that good of arrangement but ain't like southern didn't have bad arrangements bc I can name a lot of them 💯
Gostei Brasil.
This ok but s.u is better jus stating facts
They sound good! Just dragging on some parts ! B+
This song has been in the book since 2012. So rather it was recorded before or after crank fest - it has nothing to do with SPooh
TazzKId so you say and if that’s not the truth why we my play during a game only Kev can tell us when he taped this footage
They don't want to hear the truth bruh that they think Su created everything band it's tragic
Justo Ocean naw we just influence like i stayed at first
Fabion Wilson here you go with that bullshit that only Su believes
Southern didn't create everything they just perfected the craft. Y'all know it sounds poo AF compared to SU & NCAT, keV could of left it in the band room like tsu did😂😂😂
This is how it’s played
ruclips.net/video/LS5gESnv9eQ/видео.html
Junk.
What is this? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂- this is totally all wrong. Trumpets, why y’all just missing all the notes. 😂😂😂😂- this sounds like a kazoo nation
Nice try!
Booooooo
Ncat version better than su and txsu
Chris Williams i doubt it NCAT could barely get with Grambling and average band program in the SWAC
Hell no leave this song to ncat please 👏
matrix zone Su *
