The playthrough switches back to PC after this episode. I was able to fix the issues so BIG quality improvement. Thanks for watching 😊❤
No more flying bodies? 😢
@@handsomecabooseno those stay 😂
@@Skyytea good :) that is one of my favorite things about the game.
@@Skyyteayeah keep that glitch on its way to funny to remove it 😂
The pc version is the worst version
The cutscenes in Arkham Origins are top tier. Incredibly cinematic and great to look at.
Very much so, so are the boss fights.
The boss fights and cut scenes have been very impressive so far! 😊
@@Skyytea Deathstroke was the best boss in the game (and my favorite one in the whole series), but others are also really good. I'm sure you'll enjoy fighting Bane. In general, this game has the best boss line-up in the series.
Especially on the XBX
@@Skyytea hey what level you on Batman Arkham Origins and I love your videos
Roger Craig Smith does a hell of a job voicing for batman in this game. He really captures the Batman's quiet agression.
Still not as good as Kevin Conry
@@Mandalore_ultimate No one will ever be as good As Kevin Conroy.
@@thegreatbocaj May he rest in peace
Roger is a better angry Batman, there’s no contest. But Kevin IS Batman.
@@Mandalore_ultimate I don't know. I think Roger Craig Smith is just as epic tbh
So happy you're playing the most underrated entry in the franchise. Really solid game all round.
I think it didn't change much from City and that's why people didn't rate it as highly
@@Stuffthatsfunny1 the story in origins is better
@@jjosell- disagree with you there, its very linear and I found the twist disappointing
@@jjosell-I disagree, the story feels more epic with all the cinematics but City's story is far better
@@Stuffthatsfunny1 It's all subjective and depends on one's taste.
The inmates bouncing off the ground had me dying 😂
physics left the chat
Legit 1 of the reasons why I love Batman Arkham, that junk is hilarious. 😂😂
As I understand it, this is a consequence of the high frame rate. I played a lot in Origins and my pc was mostly 60fps or less and i didn't have bugs with bouncing bodies, but many other people with more powerful pc configurations have 120fps or more got this experience. I think if you limit the counter to at least 75 fps, then the bug will disappear.
On consoles, the game works backwards compatible at the original 30 fps as on PS3/Xbox 360 and, accordingly, there are no physics bugs.
@@cosmo186 Agreed but I always liked to see those hilarious glitches. 😂😂😂
@@cosmo186 Yup, the Arkham series has a history of having weird bugs on PC. I've never run into anything gamebreaking, but that bouncing can look pretty silly.
Turning off hints removes counter icons in this game for some reason so if you recall turning those off that's why you don't see the blue pop up above their heads
I was about to type the same thing!
Yeah, and good job to her on that Deathstroke fight with no counter prompts!
Fun fact Arkham Origins is set right across from where Arkham City will be built with the game allowing you to travel to pre Arkham City. This area is known as Old Gotham in the game. The new area where you start the game after Blackgate is known as New Gotham and is just directly across from Pioneer's Bridge which connects Old Gotham (Becomes Arkham City) and New Gotham. Then beyond this you have Central Gotham the Manhattan of Gotham City pretty much seen as the Heart of Gotham.
The game as a whole pulls heavily from Batman Year One but instead of taking place across a whole year from January until December the game solely focuses around Christmas a single day in the life of an Early Arkham Batman. Then after this The Long Halloween storyline could take place set in Batman's Second year etc. So there's still alot we've yet to see of a young Arkham Batman but I personally love seeing a more Mature Batman where he's already developed into the Dark Knight and formed the Bat Family.
Overall Arkham Origins is really fun but I personally found the combat to be weaker than City and at the time experienced so many bugs that I was turned off the game. Years later I returned on PC and had a blast with this being the only game where I actually prefer mouse and keyboard. Also with Reshade you can really make the game look much better, Origins always felt too wasted out to me so adding more depth really made the game pop and showcase alot of the hidden detail and effort they put into creating New Gotham. Personally still prefer Arkham Knight as a whole from world, combat, writing, depth, and the overall atmosphere and tone just make that game for me. Also just the attention to detail in that game is mind blowing and the amount of dialogue just blows my mind, No wonder the voice actors of the last games had no idea about Arkham Origins, spent years recording voice lines for Knight and were too busy to return for Origins.
Can you tell what is your control setting in Origins?
Damn you beat Slade without counter indicators on your first playthrough. Kudos to you!
Fighting Slade is not easy to do
Easy, but not without counters 😮💨
One of the most underrated games of all time. I hope you enjoy it!
I haven't played it and didn't even know about it! Played the other 3.
My favorite batman game of all time
it was my first i didnt knew it was not part of trilogy
@@schplengie1on par with city
People didn't give this game a fair chance because of the change in studios, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The combat was smooth, the story plays like a movie, there are more cool things to do with the story and the villains are great! Usually they're goofy or silly, in this game they're vulgar and cold-hearted, more like you'd expect thugs and killers to act like. They're more evil and backstabbing. They just feel more like actual villians than in the previous games. I hope you continue to enjoy this game! Oh and batman is brutal in this game, i love it!
I'm so excited for you because this game has the greatest and most comic accurate depiction of Bane ever outside the comics.
Well yeah I think it’s a given that the comic depictions would be accurate to the comics 😂
@@oreohunter7798 You'd think and yet Bane has never been adapted great in any other medium outside of this game.
Excited to experience that! 😊
@@The_Phantasm Yes. Even in famous BTAS, Bane is somewhat lame. In Nolan movies he is good but not the proper version.
You need to enable physics in settings to stop bouncing henchmen. (Yes it's pc port issue)
Never thought that's a thing lol. They should fix that by now.
@@Splinter07 I think they meant PhysX, which is a proprietary Nvidia physics simulation system that is GPU accelerated..
This game released in 2013. Right at the height of the Arkham hype and softened the wait for the announcement of Rocksteady’s third installment in the series. If it weren’t for this game, I would have felt like an addict going through Arkham withdrawal. 😂
I love how much angrier and ruthless Batman is in this, this is a younger Batman after all.
This game is awesome and it may not be considered part of the trilogy but as a standalone it does great and if one considers it part of the trilogy it gives a great origin story and it stands very well with all the other games
@@L4ftyOne arkham knight has references to origins im pretty sure its canon
@@L4ftyOne It literally is stop trying to push this goofy ah opinion. There are multiple upon multiple references, both directly in the trophy room and from dialogue from inmates.
@@L4ftyOne its canon! no spoilers but it has cool references to the others
AO is firmly canon. The developer of Arkham Knight actually outright confirmed it in interview prior to AK release and AK contains many references to it, including same voice actors for Deathstroke, Firefly and Black Mask.
I always loved the batsuit in this game. Arkham City's is great, too, but this one really stands out for me.
true
Love sky’s commentary in all her playthroughs! Never fails to make me laugh; nothing but good vibes!!
I think you’re really gonna like how this one pans out! Definitely the best story in the series next to City for me!
SOOOO MUCH RESPECT for playing Origins! So underrated. I love how you're so passionate about the stories that you play every game in a series. Stay awesome, Skyyy 🤩
The new crime scene investigation feature is one of my favorite things in this game. It takes playing detective to a whole new level
Aside from the helium filled bad guys, this game is really underrated and has a lot of great elements. The crime scenes, some gadget changes, the crime in progress, the boss fights, and the story is really good!
I think that glitch is mostly tied to the PC. I never had that issue on my Xbox 360.
@@trueblue6201 never had it happen to me either. It's definitely a pc thing.
I've never played this one, so this will be my first time experiencing it.
I'm excited to watch you playing it
I’ve never played game….but holy cow, that bounce combat animation is funny as heck!! 😂
Yeah! Arkham Origins! This was my first Arkham game and I still love it to this day. I know many don’t like it, all but I don’t care this game is great and deserves to be an Arkham title. I hope you have a great time with Origins, Sky and there’s a particular part I am looking forward too. Heh heh heh
It is worthy. I think I like it better than Arkham Asylum. Yes.. Asylum has his own charm and also comes with heavy nostalgia (it was my first Batman game played and back then I loved what Rocksteady did with it. I felt a joy playing it). But nowadays I think Arkham Origins is better. And I also like the snowy / wintery setup of Origins.
When this came out in 2013 it didnt gain alof of attention it actually went underrated for 5 years until the arkhamverse went back into the mainstream light due to the spiderman gams putting superhero games back on the map
Damn, beat Deathstroke with no indicators. Impressive. Great first episode as always! 🦇
didn’t like this game as much as the other growing up bc of how different it feels but i look back on this one fondly. Can’t wait to watch such a goated youtuber play such a goated game. Much love ❤️
Thank you for watching! ❤
3:39 i love how his face fills the mask in the reflection of the glass before the doors open, kind of random and small but it’s satisfying lol
Idk if you addressed this in the video but there are the lightning icons for when the enemy is about to attack for counter in this game too. Would help you out but you did really well on the Deathstroke fight!
very cool Deathstroke battle. Really dig that character, especially the way they made him on the live action Arrow series.
Will you play Gotham Knights @ some point too? The same studio that did Arkham Origins also did Gotham Knights. It's got a great story and some fun and interesting feature 😊
This
Arkham Origins is part of the trilogy. I’m so happy you are playing it
Canon to the trilogy but not part of Rocksteady’s trilogy 😊
@@Skyytea It's been proven to be a prequel to Arkham Asylum therefore it is canon to the other 3 Arkham games.
I'm incredibly excited to watch you play origins. Since I got the main trilogy for free through Epic Games I've never played Origins and I only know the basic story beats, so this will be interesting.
That was the Calendar Man's cell that you were asking about in the beginning. I felt something was wrong earlier because usually Batman even though starting at the beginning you don't have a lot of combos when fighting, you can still connect with fast attacks and default combos and that reversal move you do once the lightning bolts appear over the enemies head. But Yeah, once Killer Croc started trying to ctrl alt del himself I knew then something was wrong lmao. Also if you ever decide to play this game again in the distant future you can do more damage to Killer Croc by throwing batarangs at him when he picks up the explosive tanks.
I'm glad you're giving this game a chance. I actually prefer it over City.
This is my favorite game in the series! I loved your other play throughs of the Batman games. A few tips for this game:
1. You can change the gameplay settings to have the counter prompt.
2. Detective mode in this game is very complex and requires you to recreate the crime scenes so expect to use the rewind and fast forward features.
3. The boss fights in this game are the best in the series but can also be challenging.
4. In my opinion this is the best story of all the games. I’m sure you noticed by now, but the upper part of the map is the same as Arkham city, just before it was wrecked.
5. You should absolutely play the cold cold heart dlc if you’re able to, it’s incredible and way better than Harley Quinn’s revenge!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do and I will be keeping an eye on your channel for the next episode!!!
Not my absolute favorite Arkham game (that comes next), but I’ll still be tuning in each episode! Thank you again for doing all these!
I guess you don’t care about boss fights if Arkham Knight is your favorite
@@Kickinthescience Honestly not really. There’s just something about Arkham Knight that I’ve always loved. Maybe it’s the improved gliding and gorgeous world. Completely love the vibe of Origins though!
@@KickinthescienceMr freeze is the only good boss fight in the entire series so idk what that even means. AK boss fights aren't any worse than the others.
@@Kickinthescience Guess you don't care about roaming around a masterfully created Gotham City with rich attention to detail and one of the best city atmospheres to date. See we can do it as well lol But yeah idk why Arkham Origins fans solely bring up the Boss Fights when they speak about how great the game is.... Not everyone likes Boss fights some people prefer other aspects of games and that's why everyone has there own favourite Arkham game for different reasons.
My personal favorite is City it has the best look and is the most fun to play
Definitely my favourite game in the series. I think it got a lot of backlash when it came out because we were waiting for a follow up to city. So people went into this disappointed. And there’s a large portion of the internet who don’t like changing their minds. Just a tip. Remember to use your quick fire gadgets, especially in combat. You don’t have to select them individually.
I love Origins it's my second favorite. U are gonna love this Sky it's amazing. The story is super underated. Have fun kicking ass!
Glad you're finally coming around to this game. Played this for the first-time last year, and it is super fun and underrated. Hope you enjoy!
Awesome to see you playing all the Batman games 😄 This game has the best boss fights, so you're in for a treat when you fight Deathstroke.
So excited! Origins just might be my favourite one; it has arguably the best story out of all of them.
This one had one of the best premises in my opinion and the game looks good in snow. The voice actors are great and it was nice to see a young and more aggressive batman. His batsuit is also one of my favorite batsuits ever. Btw the Riddler's actual name is Edward Nashton but he later changed it to Edward Nigma aka Enigma (meaning a person/thing that's mysterious or puzzling). Fitting for a guy who goes by the villain name the Riddler. Also if you notice, Batman will often call the criminals by their real names and not their villain names unless he doesn't know them.
Yesss Sky! I am excited for another series of lets plays!! You're gonna love Origins, this game has a lot to offer much like the 2 previous Batman games!
Looking forward to this playthrough. The boss fights in this are insane.
Yay! So happy your playing it! Definitely the most underrated out of the 4 Arkham games. It’s very good.
That first guy bounced off the floor like a pro basketball player going for a slam dunk 😂
Another great episode, can't wait for the rest of this playthrough, you're awesome
It feels so epic because the cutscenes are very cinematic. The music, direction, the cuts, everything just works like an actual movie and feels so good to watch
Unpopular opinion but this was my favorite of the series. Christmas vibes, best boss fights, young angry batman.
Absolutely love Arkham Origins. It's criminal this wasn't remastered since its story is so strong!
Addicted to your channel now, i like how you really dive into the world.
You should DEFINITELY have combat prompts to counter. That is either a bug or an option that has somehow been disabled on your version.
Usually, counter-prompts are disabled in Arkham games only during New Game +.
Eitherway, you handled Slade like a boss! Well done!
I remember this game being described by the devs as being Batman in his second year as a vigilante. So it's something like 10 years before Arkham Asylum.
You should check out the animated movie "Batman Year One" to get a closer idea of the vibe. At this point, he's still making mistakes (like going too hard on the Penguin thug he wanted to interrogate, knocking him out instead), he doesn't know any of his enemies yet.
Arkham Origins may not be part of the official trilogy, but it is still a very underrated game in my opinion. I think it really holds up and even without Kevin Conroy or Mark Hamill, the voice acting is right on point. Really glad you're playing through the game, and based on how you enjoyed Asylum and City, I am confident you will enjoy this one too. I think it definitely has the same 'feel' to it as the others.
The game is canon, stop spreading misinformation
Been loving your letsplay of this series. Would recommend you trying Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (it serves as a tie in after this game and before Asylum. Its a 2.5D game, however the combat, villains, and story, are all good).
Eh I wouldn’t want to it’s not that good of a game it pretty mid
@@austincaldwell4258not true
Skyy on the grind!! Thank you for the awesome content.
55:57 Batman is still setting up his reputation as someone to be feared. He's angrier and less patient in his younger years, making a few mistakes every now and then
Awesome!!! Excited to watch you start the Origins journey!!!!
She shows up when we need her most
Origins is one of the best "first years" adaptations in the Batman contemporary mythos, and by far has the best story of the arkham saga, i hope you have so much fun.
If you want to know a little tip for combat there is a special ability you can use. That is a special combo takedown all you have to do is just press the Y+B buttons at the same time. But your combo needs to be at an 8 in order to do this. It is a huge game changer in combat and really fun. There also other special abilities you can use as the game progresses. I hope you have with this game as much as I did. Good luck on the PC fixes though
When this game came out it was not received as well as the first two Arkham games. Arkham City was a tough act to follow for sure. I enjoyed this game when I played it and have returned to it a couple of times. Over the years I think people are starting to appreciate it more, so I hope you enjoy your playthrough.
Extremely underrated game, there is a lot to love about it, you are gonna love it Skyy, based on how enjoyed the previous two.
I'm not sure, but I swear Batman's beard grows in this game. which, as a gamer, I think is kind of cool, and as a game developer(mostly a programmer), I think it is absolutely awesome.
Not in this one (he has a stubble all throughout the game).
The beard thing happened in Arkham Asylum.
@@b.u.l.1734 Oh I didn't notice that he had a beard in Arkham Asylum probably because I had a hard time seeing in that game.
@@b.u.l.1734Now that you guys mention it. I wonder why that wasn’t a thing in Arkham Knight
Hmm I wonder if he has a beard in Arkham City.
@@metalheadmaniac8686 he kinda did but it is kinda hard to see clearly.
Wooo! It’s time. Very excited for this one.
I remember this game getting a lot of skepticism when it came out because of it not being developed by Rocksteady themselves. But honestly looking back at it, it had one of the most epic premises of the Arkham series with Batman having to deal with being hunted by multiple pro assassins in one night. It also was the only game to give us a Dethstroke boss battle. Plus it even had a pretty fun multiplayer mode believe it or not and I recall having a blast on that too. Really slept on game.
You did really well handling that Deathstroke fight without the counter marker. You’ve likely seen the comments on how to get that. So odd that was in hints when it’s more game play.
Never played this Arkham game. Did watch the play-through. The story is really cool with some great moments. The game play just looks incomplete. What it does improve on is the mystery solving with detective vision.
Wooooo!!! So excited! 🙏
The last fight that you had with Deathstroke was very impressive! You quickly learned how to counter his attacks which are very challenging if you ask me as well as jumping behind him and even using some gadgets. You are definitely becoming The Batman! Well done! I love these videos!
Such an underrated game it's actually the 1st Arkham game I played, Roger Craig was really good as a young angry Batman.
Facts
Yes my favorite. The boss battles in this one are fun.
You have counter icons turned off. In Origins, counter icons are tied into the "hints" setting - with it off, counter icons are also turned off. You seem to be doing fine without them (the enemies telegraph their strikes fairly obviously), but if you find yourself having trouble later on when fights get more difficult, you can turn them back on in the game options.
5:45 Unfortunately there are some unpatched bugs in Origins. Enemies flying up into the air randomly when you hit them is one of them. Sometimes they are even thrown _way_ off screen.
17:32 It's Calendar Man's cell. He commits crimes based on holidays, sometimes obscure ones.
19:27 Julian Gregory Day is Calendar Man's name. "Day" is an obvious surname, and the 12-month calendar we use is the Gregorian calendar. Which replaced the Julian calendar. So that explains the first and middle names.
25:20 Yeah, that's another one of those unpatched bugs. I don't think there are any more major bugs like that in the PC port, most are just mild annoyances like that flying enemies one.
46:50 Yes, that is Riddler. He was called Enigma earlier in his "career". His name is Edward Nigma, or E. Nigma. In the comics he also has a daughter which uses the name "Enigma".
51:08 The Gotham City Light & Power building that stretches across the map is an off-limits area for some reason. You just cut the corner of it a bit which triggered the "fly away" animation. To get past that building, you need to go around it, or use the passageway through it in the middle.
1:16:55 Yes, that door into the fighting ring was locked at that time.
1:29:42 Those are Enigma datapacks that you can pick up. They're the equivalent of the Riddler trophies in the other games.
1:45:41 Yes there are combo takedowns. You need a x8 combo, but there is an upgrade you can get that drops it down to x5.
1:54:07 If you got through the Deathstroke fight that quickly without counter icons, you'll probably be fine the rest of the game without it.
I've played this game a dozen times on console, and encountered no such physics issues.
I had a hard time fighting Slade with the counter prompts, it's impressive you beat him without ever seeing them.
Absolutely hyped! Favorite Arkham game 🎉❤
Yes ur playing it. I don't understand why others don't play this one. This such an underrated game and I believe that u will love it. And this batman was voiced by Roger Craig Smith also does other voices like Soinc, Deidara from Naruto, Mirage from Apex etc.
Likely Rocksteady not being involved makes people have a lower opinion, it reuses assets but why wouldn’t they? It has some bugs but that’s likely because they had to create the multiplayer mode which cut their ability to polish the rest.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The story was terrific, the voice-acting was stellar, loved the gameplay and boss missions. Music was top-notch as well, and the overall experience was incredibly cinematic. Such a fun an immersive experience.
Capping fps would probably fix all tech issues, Its very common for older games to freak out because of high fps
This game has such a great soundtrack. A literal work of art
The fact it took you less than 5 tries to beat Deathstroke on your first time playing blows my mind.
This game is set during his early years where he was brutal and absolutely unhinged..
This is my favourite Arkham game. The story is so intense, it is like being in a movie.
WB Games Montreal made this game. They did a good job. If you like their style you should play Gotham Knights afterwards
A tip for later, Deadshot and Shiva are optional missions, anyway I advise you to do them.
the side missions are amazing in the game
I remember playing this game and the Deathstroke was my absolute favorite, especially in a higher difficulty, I remember parrying all counters so that I can do the fight hitless, I do miss playing this game.
I just want to say I’ve been waiting for you to play this game. I personally think this is the best Batman game out of all the games that came out. That’s just me.
I've had that same problem with the croc fight. I've managed to beat him while he was invisible, but it was a struggle.
WOO!! Batman origins!! 3rd instalment in this Batman saga? Arkham saga? Gritty moody man saga? Anyway.. I see you’re playing them in chronological order of release, is that by coincidence? Can’t wait to see what you think of it!! 🎉🎉
Playing in this order by choice! 😊
Glad you're playing arkham origins have fun and good luck👍
So excited to watch this play through !!! Lemme grab some popcorn real quick !
Love your channel, Skyytea! Arkham Origins is my favorite game of the franchise.
The reason the people you rescue don't talk to you in this is because the are mainly scared of batman more than the criminal are
The game is actually considered Cannon to the other 3 games. To be precise this Batman is two years in to his career so he’s more of a grim bully to these criminals and to this point in time in origins, Batman is seen as a myth and people actually fear him
OMG Skyy is amazing.. she started to do a bunch of martial arts fights stuff with Deathstroke.
I ve seen other people fighting Deathstroke in the past and they rather tried to cheap shot him (with cheap moves) till his health is gone 😄 But Skyy (late in the video) was starting to press the right buttons (having proper dodge moves and good fighting moves). Well done girl (I liked your fight with Deathstroke) 👍👍
The grading system judges ur most recent combat battle based on factors like:
Number of gadgets used
Hit or not
High move count
Do combat without breaking the move count
Variation of moves
Let’s go!!!! Arkham Origins!!!
Normally there are counter indicators but they’re not there because hints might be disabled in settings, so re-enable the hints and see if that works
Arkham Origins is soooo good. Happy to see you playing through this one. I’ve got lots of good memories with this game, especially when the multiplayer mode was still around.
I just played through this game on PC with my daughter and, while there was a fair amount of jank throughout, the bouncing bodies weren't nearly as frequent as you're seeing. I suggest taking a look at the nVidia enhanced physics setting and switching it to whatever you're not currently using.
Hope you'll play Gotham Knights too. It takes place in a different universe, but it was developed by WB Games Montreal, the same creators of Origins. Fire game 😎
From what I’ve heard it’s a really bad game
@@austincaldwell4258 naw man, I'd say don't believe everything you hear. It's not a 10/10 game obviously, but it's not horrible either. It's a really fun game. Worth playing. You get to play as any of the four main Batfamily and build them up to become the new Knight of Gotham. Open world and story-based game with some fun action. It's not Arkham level of gameplay, but if you go into it with an open mind, you'll enjoy yourself. I'm a big Batman fan, and I still give G.K. a solid 8/10. Not a perfect game, but not as bad as people say.
I love Gotham Knights. Its good. Not the best ever ever, but still good
I still have fun with Gotham Knights. Yeah it's not the best superhero game but it is better than Superman 64 lol. Not to mention, I kinda like the different style of combat.
That game is horrendous lol xD
Fun fact you can actually find calendar man in Arkham city. He's in a cell in the courthouse with some pretty cool dialogue if you visit him on certain holidays
