@garyalee Actually, Nelson Riddle's TV show theme did have lyrics and a title--Down the Open Highway, and it was sung by a Teri Thornton during the 1960's.
she did the best with what she had , not particularly talented but can remember the words and work the stage . I'd bet after she gets enough practice she'll be a lot better

Actually, this is Route 66 written by Bobby Troup in the 50's - Nelson Riddle's TV show theme had no lyrics. Great version though.
Yes, written by Bobby Troup, but in 1946 as he headed out to California on Route 66. I agree that this is a great version.

I don´t like the singer, but the rest of the band is pretty groovy
