I have to say, with all the "how to" videos out there, floating around on, RUclips, these videos happen to be amongst my most favorite. I don't know whether it's because Mike is so genuine and he's so honest and just in general such a good friend type person. But I really like watching his videos. I think they're great. I watch them completely through to the end and I thoroughly enjoy them. So keep up the good work and you always keep things interesting.
Great video work Madeline. Your Grampa is a Genius so spend as much time as you can with him. Oh and nice content today Michael. Also looking forward to the mystery motor HP and see her run. Cheers
I highly recommend crossing those safety chains under the trailer hitch. I just drug home a free boat this weekend. Has a Merc 470 that I can always use for parts on my engine. To get room to pull the engine I cut the top half of the transom off with a sawzall since the boat will be going to the dump👍
Got a lot of good watching today, thank you Michael!!!! You scored way over the top, free AND a 292!!!! I hope it comes back to life for you. Oh boy, can't wait. Your Granddaughters schooling at the schools of her choice is going to be paid in full if you keep on making bets with her!!!! Wonderful day Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy watching the projects. Madeline did do an excellent job filming. You need to work out some kind of deal with her to do some filming while you work around the shop and outside. She might learn some things too if she is at all interested.
Hi from down in Pool 25, I have a StarCraft chieftain that had 165 in it. Went thru a few donor boats to get a good block. Make sure you take the manifold off as this is a weak spot and where they typically will crack and hard to see with the manifold.
Thanks for another awesome video. Maddie definitely does some excellent camera work. Based on her first foray into the camera person field I knew she was going to climb in the back of the Jeep before she even did LOL. Had to get the best shot possible. Based on Research I've done so far it appears to be a 70's engine but a car engine. From what I read in the seventies they went to the 3- character identification code at the end of the number. C would indicate car, T would indicate truck and from Reading elsewhere M would indicate Marine. I believe the date code should be stamped on the front right-hand side of the motor as you're standing looking at the water pump near the oil pan lip. Waiting for an answer for the specific number you posted in a reply to see if those who know much more than I do have any information. I will let you know if I hear anything. Keep up the great work!
Mike, here is a tip how to use your safety chains. Instead of running them straight run them crisscross. So the chain makes a web under the hitch. That way if the hitch comes of the ball going down the road it will catch hitch/tongue from hitting the road. 👍
I normally do crisscross but this set up was temporary and the way I'm installing the new tongue on the trailer will allow me to do that. Thanks for watching
If the motor is a200hp and that’s what it looks to be . it was well worth the gas and hull dump price. Nice job on loading it and getting motor out . Did ya keep the ski rope hook . Ya granddaughter Madeline did awesome operating camera 👍👍👍👍 interested in seeing going thru motor and crank it up .. As always Sir thanks for the ride along and Keep’em coming and the Cobalt hawaiian shirt is Awesome 👍👍👍👍
That’s cool, I live right by Grand Rapids. The Water Wonderland plant is pretty large and still there, now it’s a metal casting facility. That badge looks like it says “Atlantio I/O”.
Michael at RMD I have question ❓ if the Motor was Stuck or Frozen would the motor still be good or means over haul I appreciate you talking inboard I love it
btw measure the side plates (lifter covers) if they are taller than 5 inches it will be a 292 if they are shorter than 5 inches it will be a 230-250 hope this helps.
I grew up on boats all my life my dad always bought and sold boats when I was growing up so I'm just keeping the tradition going. Getting ready to flip another pontoon. Just sold one I made a tritoon houseboat out of.@@Michaelsbackyardmarina
The gym engine number you can give to mercury might be able to tell you if it’s the 170 or 200 hp the fuel pump looks like it’s from the mid seventies. I am curious to see what type of shape the motor is in. I would have to fess it’s a 1975. There maybe a tag on the flywheel housing with the engine number. Thanks, Tim
I'm leaning towards the 170 due to the fact that most of what I can find on the 200 shows it had a 4 barrel carb on it and 4 holes on the intake, Thanks for watching
You need a bucket for junk nuts an bolts scrap metals then take all the metal off the before you take the boat to the junk yard so the boat is not as heavy that way its cheaper to junk it and all the metal you don't want you can scrap it and get a little money from it
Looking at the AERO CRAFT specs by model the 1970 had a 200hp in it. I'm going to check out the block numbers a little more. Thanks for watching, share the web site you got your info from, I'm curious.
Some people keep saying that but there are plenty of old boats with windshields, I have no idea what I would do with an old windshield. thanks for watching
Fyi the best penetrating fluid in the world is ATF. Followed by Marvel. Second why does it make me sad to see that boat disposed of. I would be willing to bet that someone's looking for a windshield and rails on flea bay right now.

I was looking at the video and thinking ALANTIC I/O thanks for watching
Michael at RMD I have question ❓ if the Motor was Stuck or Frozen would the motor still be good or means over haul I appreciate you talking inboard I love it

Thanks for posting

Things are leaning towards 200hp at the moment.

That number is the wrong number that is a casting number.
Look for a flat spot by the distributer. This number will tell you what you need to know.
it's an F00508CCG I can't find anything on it.
I guess 1675 # , Cheers from Jacksonville Florida 🌞
Not a bad guess, thanks for watching
At the end of the serial number, should be the length of the boat.
Ok, thanks for the tip and thanks for watching
Sorry, I am way behind in making comments. It's been Wi-Fi-free for many vacation days this summer.
not a bad thing to be Wi-Fi free and relaxing, thanks for watching
Safety chains are suppose to be criss crossed to form a basket should your trailer detach from the vehicle.
Yep Yep, this was a temporary set up, Check out the up coming videos for the trailer overhaul, thanks for watching
The badge on the dash says Atlanic

not a bad idea, for the amount of money you would save/gain would not make minimum wage, thanks for watching
No,not all manufacturers included the length.. You have done so much in short time..
Yes, just keep moving and things get done. Thanks for watching
I think she did a real good job you had a higher that way she can follow you around I'm just joking he did a good job

Might be a 1969 200hp 292 I/L6 ?
Looking at the AERO CRAFT specs by model the 1970 had a 200hp in it. I'm going to check out the block numbers a little more. Thanks for watching, share the web site you got your info from, I'm curious.

You should have saved the windshield
