Thanks Kevin for such an instructive tour of the castle. It always amazes me that it is 800 years old, still standing as a strong witness of the history of Wales. Regards from Buenos Aires!
History of Wales? It's in England. Is there some other reason, other than being close to Wales, that Ludlow Castle would be a witness to the history of Wales? Genuine question as I don't know the full history.
Thank you, Kevin. Ludlow is indeed a wonderful castle that I've visited three or four times - so far! Love the history of it... that it was traditionally the residence and 'school' for all Princes/Princesses of Wales. Therefore, I can only imagine the number of future monarchs of England and Great Britain that have walked these grounds centuries before me. Kenilworth Castle is another awesome one and has huge walls that still stand. I'm lucky that I live in the West Midlands surrounded by many castles - including the majestic Warwick Castle.
+DNA Leguillou: Prince of Wales, not King. He died prematurely from a disease, leaving his younger brother, Henry, to become heir apparent to the throne (eventually Henry VIII). Catherine claimed she was still a virgin, but we'll never know.

You are very welcome. I am also astounded by the age of castles and it boggles my mind imagining people living in them day to day.

I wonder if king Arthur of Wales was gay, that's why he never consumated the marriage with Catherine of Aragon
