Yes, it's explained in the book that this movie is based on (Bringing Down the House) that all the code words are mnemonics to make memorizing and recognizing them easier. +7 is craps as you mentioned. Examples: +13 is witch (unlucky number), +16 is sweet (sweet 16), +18 is voting booth (age you can vote), +15 is paycheck, (paid on the 15th), +3 is stool (cause stool has 3 legs), etc.

@@bilalshaikh6603 yes it still works. There are plenty of people making a living counting cards today. Casinos have been implementing things to make it more difficult like having games with worse rules, 6:5 blackjack payouts instead of 3:2, and implementing Continuous Shuffle Machines (CSMs). It’s not possible to count cards successfully with 6:5 payouts or CSMs but 3:2 games with decent rules and no CSM it is still very possible. The hardest part with counting is getting the hours in at the table because once the casinos know you’re counting, which they figure out by how much ur bets are changing, they will back you off which can be anything from telling you that you can’t play blackjack anymore but can play any other casino game, asking you to leave the casino entirely, or in extreme cases they will 86 you which means you get read the trespass act and if you go back you can get arrested for trespassing. But with so many casinos in the US nowadays, if you’re willing to travel and have a good act so it’s not crazy obvious that you’re a card counter you can still get to the long run (1,000 hours of playing)
It doesnt tell you the exact remaining cards, but you know if there are more high or low cards to come. High cards are better for the player, low cards better for the dealer
for me this makes my mind go blank, if im counting, im just simply counting. i calculate the odds of the next card of the house and calculate the rotation of hands i can win against and bet big only then. other than that if i gotta say a card of spades is a cat and that shit, it confuses me. as for the other players, it just falls into command. if the dealer busts everyone wins. if the dealer doesn't bust, every 10 hands you get 16, double down and hit 21. no insurance. if it's 1/17 split it. hit 3 times on the 1 and stand on 17. if the split is 1/16 if the dealer has low value cards stand. chances are, a house with low value cards is not gonna draw a face but the house just keeps hitting. ending in a higher chance of a dealer bust without needing face cards to do it. bet small like a couple hundred. win double your money until you got a few grand. on the 20th hand. bet up to 2 grand as in that point if the other players don't like bluffing they'll always be too careful and stand too soon. now it's u against the house. and adjust your method whenever the cards start going against you. play alone and track it in your head and don't stay in one place the whole time and nobody's gonna suspect anything. and if they do, it's in your head so they can't prove anything and all they can do is ban you then it's onto the next casino, which 9 times out of ten they'll tell you to go to another table. if you aren't playing alone, use your friends to set up a distraction so when the pit boss comes over he has something else to deal with and walk away normally when he's not facing your direction just like hangover. and you're home free with hopefully a few hundred grand if you do it right.

A group of professional card counters that can't count. I know they needed this scene for the audience but come on LMAO.
I mean what is a professional card counter
@hansolo631 someone who makes a living counting cards. These kids are paying off an Ivy league education with those skills. I'd call that professional.
At the beginning he didn’t count the cards on the table Keven Spacey gave the answer
76 cards in deck
23 value minus -1
17 neutral or no value
Which means 36 cards left in deck +1
36-23=+13
ofc bro he's not omnipotent with eagle's eye

No… because he literally got invited to there, meaning he proved himself even prior to that

But case now don't go all the way to the end. They CUT into 1/3 of the deck. Those cards are never used. Counting now is impossible ..

There's more than 1 deck in blackjack most of the time. Ideally I think you play single deck but there's more double and 6 deck games than single.
