Daniel thank you for being there and filming this. It just hit me that this is not only special footage for the eclipse itself but you captured a moment I got to share with my dad. Even if we are just people in the background the fact there is footage of us there is amazing.
Glad you were in the USA storm chasing just in time to catch the solar eclipse, Daniel. I don't think there will be another one in the USA for some time, especially a total eclipse.
Outstanding! I am 70, saw a total many years ago, but your video is even better. I remember it getting very dark, streetlights came in, birds stopped singing. Have also seen two almost totals, like 95%. Astronomy and weather are fascinating!
I was in the path of the eclipse and found it to be one of the most surreal experiences in my life. Even though I was consciously aware that there's grade school scientific principles behind it, some primal part of me was gnawing at my mind. No wonder people saw these things as supernatural omens for thousands of years.
I happened to live in the path of this one, so I managed to see it from my own backyard. I will honestly never forget the experience for as long as I live. I'm almost tearing up re-watching this. We are so fortunate to be able to witness something of such cosmic beauty and terror. What a life.
nice to see you and hear your well Weather Brother Daniel i am of course Retired now. Spectacular View !! also Thank you for taking the time to share this precious moment with us all !!! WE LOVE YOU Daniel !!
Beautiful footage! I’m glad you got to experience the totality with the rest of us. I watched it in my backyard with some friends and it’s one of the most surreal things I’ve ever experienced! Hearing the crickets in the middle of the day with everything dark was truly incredible.
Me and a bunch of friends met up in Idabel, Oklahoma for the eclipse and eventually migrated to Foreman, Arkansas following a pocket in the clouds. What a day that was
Drove from Wisconsin down to Sulphur Springs, Texas to see the eclipse. Watched it from a cemetery to get away from as many (living) people as possible. It was perfect. Saw my first eclipse in 2017. Went to Lebanon, Tennessee for that one. Unless you see totality in person, you have no idea how awesome it is. No picture or video comes close to capturing what your eyes can see. Trust me. Do whatever you have to do to see totality in person. It will blow your mind!
Loved this! We were a bit to the southwest in Dallas and had the same feelings. Watched with my two oldest kids and some of my in-laws. Loved every bit of it.
To where I was at it was a partial, well almost a full eclipse. I am so happy you were here in the USA for this. This is the 2nd time that I lived through this and plenty of almost half and what not. In most cases it is once in a lifetime. Natures wonder is always spectacular. Hearing the excitement is the best and it is something that will be remembered always
Holy crap! I wish I would have known you were there. My family is from Geismar, Louisiana and spent the night in Shreveport so that we had many routes. We ended up in Hot Springs and it was amazing! We also traveled to Carbondale, Illinois for the last eclipse which was on my birthday!
I was at my Aunt's, who lived right in the totality. It was amazing, but was eerie when it was approaching, the sky taking on a darkness not quite comparable to a storm approaching and the temperature noticeably dropped by 15 degrees.
where i live in east central NY i honestly thought i was never going to be able to see it with the 90%+ cloud cover even with a 95% eclipse that was around the area but somehow things worked out in the end through some sheer miracle and i was able to see it through eclipse glasses we got 20+ years ago that worked perfectly
Great video Daniel! I was fortunate to catch the eclipse with minimal thin high clouds in western Ohio. Were you were able to catch the 2012 eclipse in Australia and are you planning to see the ones coming up down there in 2028, 2030, 2037 and 2038?
@@RandomGuy-ch7ur We're looking into going to Egypt for the August 2027 eclipse. Luxor is dead center in the path of totality. Imagine watching that from the valley of the kings... It's also the longest totality of our lifetime. Over 6 minutes!! We'll see how Egypt looks, as far as safety is concerned, in 2027.
My dad and I was on a friends farm and got enjoy 3.5 minutes of totality. I took two videos. I did one up close and for wide angle I used my GoPro. Our friend daughter got a HD video of it and I have all 3 videos on my channel
This Day was Mind-blowing, one of the 2024 Highlights. Great we watched it together on stream
Beautiful! Great video!! 👍👍

Thank you Daniel! Love your enthusiasm. Nothing fake here!! Love your storm chasing as well. Especially love when you are together with Vince.

The awe in his voice was as incredible as the eclipse. 👏 Beautifully done!

So glad to have met you at Mount Ida! This was such an awe-inspiring moment.
Thank you. We were only 90% here, but it was wild anyway.
So glad I was able to see it

The next Australian ones absolutely. I am hooked.
@@DanielShawAU honestly same! I’m considering going to Gibraltar/Morocco in 2027 to catch another!

I wish you would have found a place with a good horizon without the trees. But you found yourself a decent spot.
