- The passing of struggle stalwart Pravin Gordhan has sparked conversations about the role he played in the democracy of South Africa, as well as his commitment to clean governance.
In his last portfolio as Minister of Public Enterprises, where he played oversight, of state-owned enterprises which were facing governance issues- He found himself in a position where some of his decisions were questioned, and criticised.
One example is much publicised and the failed SAA Takatso deal. After three years of negotiations with Takatso to save South African Airways, that deal ended with a bumpy landing.

It's surprising that suddenly Pravin is men of integrity 😳🙆🏿😥 politicians are flip floppers
😂😂😂😢😢😢😢 never trust a politician judge magistrate court officials cops, under Pravin Gordon SAA Eskom went bankrupt he wanted to sell SAA for a few dollars 💰💵 more, hoe his family says he was against state capture 😭😭😭
Yes, we all "have some bad" in us. However, as a public servant - who's only purpose is to help and uplift the people - there's no room for any bad to come out.... Save that for your private time.
Ask the people who's businesses closed down because of load shedding and they couldn't afford to run generators.... Pravin's only concern was about the board members who "needed tp eat some too".
Ask the people who worked at Denel and have never found employment again.... That's not a "bit of bad" - that's a whole lot of really bad.... He didnt give a fig about the very people who paid his excessive salary...
He was just another gangster in the Anc government mafia.
Under Pravin Gordon SAA Eskom went bankrupt he wanted to sell SAA for a few dollars 💰💵 more
Eish, I see the politicians all jumping to Gordahn's defence - probavly because they know the legacy that they will be leaving behind is no better than that of Gordhan and they too will not be missed at all....
😂😂😂😂 so well said 🎉🎉🎉
Now that the man has gone the way of all the earth as the Bible puts it, shall we now have our peace to deal with mess he and his colleagues have put us in for the last 30 years?..
Unfortunately he was a Muslim Brotherhood,so heaven is not got him, he was a communist on top of that
Parvin Gordon sold SA
To save the airline! Use your brains the country still owes 49% plus they paying off the debts. You don't know Anything. Go get educated
@@epictraveller9895 he was working for his private interests...
parvin Gordon- IS THIS THE MAN WHO SOLD (JKIA - JOMO KENYATHA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT & SAA) TO THE indian family (ADANI CONGLOMERATE) ???? Africans need their state owned properties back !!!!🤔🤔🤔😡😡😰😫😫
JUST A REMINDER- ALL THOSE STATE OWNED PROPERTIES WERE CREATED BY THE GOVERNMENT PRIOR TO 1994, ALL WERE HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL, ESKOM, SABC, SAA etc UNTIL THEY FELL INTO BLACK HANDS, ie LOOTERS AND LOAD SHEDDERS NOW RUNNING SA. EVERYONE SHOOTING THEIR MOUTHS OFF ABOUT STUFF BLACKS NEVER HAD THE INTELLIGENCE TO BUILD, BUT TALK AS IF THEY WERE THE BRAINS BEHIND EVERYTHING
SABC, have you decided that Black Africans are only fit to comment on politics, but not on economics or education? Do enlighten us and take the nation into your confidence, because we are starting to wonder what the real agenda is here.
You know what it is
Pravin Gordhan destroyed black business. Period!
He destroyed whole country under his tenure Eskom SAA went bankrupt he wanted to sell SAA for a few dollars 💰💵 more, only corrupt dishonest comrades support him
A person's struggle legacy may indeed be erased entirely by a single act. History is replete with such instances. In RSA, the tendency is that even when a person has strayed with ravaging damage to our society, but depending on their status in society, the negatives are easily cast aside. Our history has such examples in abundance too.
😂😂😂 so what you are saying he was a corrupt dishonest comrades support,he supported the freedom of Palestine which say all
@@eisbeinGermany No, i am contributing to the ensuing discussion around what one media house referred to late PG's legacy as "a fractured legacy." I have come to the painful and costly realisation that it does not take much for many former liberators to besmirch both their names and by association and / or extension those of their fellow Struggle comrades as soon as they get bitten by the 'trappings of power.' Unless we did not know what, we had thought, even believed we knew.
He was corrupt individual period
I think the people who spoke ill about this man were a bunch of cowards. If they had so much to say about him, why didn't they say it to his face while he was with us? Why at the moment of his passing to they now find the "courage"? I find it extremely funny that a party like the EFF is so loud. If they had such a passion to fight corruption, Floyd and Julius would've been booted from the party a long time ago. But they are very happy to work with the MK, who's President this man served under and was very involved in state capture. We can't go back in time to tell Hitler what we think of him, so this argument doesn't hold water.
Very knowledgeable and fair Political Analyst.
Pravin was evil
Can you name the evil, did he sell the country to the Guptas. Did bankrupt All the SOES. wake up man and and catch that thug who is hiding in your own cupboard. That is the problem with Africa in general, you love your thug leaders and go after the policemen instead. Pravin was not a saint but he definitely was on the cleaner corner of the ANC.
Ngathi angavuka aphinde afe lenja
What I remember about Gordhan is his unwavering support of SAA, pumping billions of rands into a failed business; and to differ with the interviewee, SAA was failing before Covid. The loyalty of just about all the old struggle veterans to the ANC is galling, rather than loyalty to the people of SA. I can't recall Gordhan ever criticising either Mbeki, Zuma or Ramaphosa.
🎉🎉🎉 exactly what you say, under his tenure Eskom SAA went bankrupt he wanted to sell SAA for a few dollars 💵💰 more he sat at Zondo commission and said he didn't know that state capture is taking place,
State capture vibes
Only politician who forced Julius to pay SARS billions. He also stood up to Dudu Myeni, Molefe etc / those involved in state capture.😢😢
The state have been for decades being kept by business. They are the one who designed parliament and make laws that will favour their dealings.... The so called state capture of Zuma's presidency tried to correct exactly that State Capture.... Check your history
😂😂😂
When did he stand up against them 🤳🤳 he was then part and parcel 📦 of ANC party state capture under his tenure Eskom SAA went bankrupt he wanted to sell SAA for a few dollars 💵💰 more
Don’t agree
Rest in peace Parvin Gordon.
Stop this harters
He was father first and foremost. He did what was needed at the time , he didn't enrich himself or his family
Ohhhhhh? Didn't he?
So those that lost their livelihood because of him are not father's and mothers
@@KaizerSauzer
kogiereddy is a hater towards poor South Africans 😥
They even lost jobs 😥😥😥
Have you conducted lifestyle audits then ?
😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Surely you not being serious under his watch SAA Eskom went bankrupt he wanted to sell SAA for a few dollars 💰💵 more,do you think he would not of received a massive kickback, during Zondo commission he sat and lied about not having any knowledge of state cupture 😢😢😢, how can you defend him he supported the ANC cadres and Hamas
The media should stop looking for negative stories to report on. Let this family who is grieving the loss of their father bury him with dignity. Don't add to their grief. Stop looking for stories to report on. Stop.
It's always the case
I doesn't start with him, unfortunately
But unfortunately his corrupt dishonest legacy lives on, under his tenure Eskom SAA went bankrupt he wanted to sell SAA for a few dollars 💵💰 more, he sat at Zondo commission and said he didn't know that state capture is taking place, wow really but he was then part of the upper part of ANC
