They were running a clinic on that mid range very smart strategy for St. John’s I think they need to stick with this style of offense it seems to fit them the best for sure they were making it look easy against a very good Creighton team another reason why this strategy is so effective it slows the game down when you don’t take threes unless absolutely necessary it limits the other teams ability to run out on the break and get fast transition points it is great for when you are playing a fast paced and athletic team you force them to play a more old school fundamental style of offense and for the fast athletic teams that is very frustrating because it takes away their strengths and makes them play through their weaknesses that is because teams that are fast paced don’t like to play very deliberately they want to play a freestyle offense but you can’t do that if you play this strategy of course you have to be consistent from mid range and mix in drives to the basket and looking for cutters to the basket to make it almost impossible to beat I played in high school trust me it’s frustrating playing a team that force you to play their style very much like Virginia and Tony Bennett system that is why he has so much success over the years even when he never had the best teams or athletes more fundamentally sounded then anything and of course you have to be consistently active on defense and playing the passing lanes looking for easy steals

Mcdermott lost it for the jays by not pulling shireman. Stepping out of bounds twice...cant inboind the ball...three air balls one was a layup. Unreal jr league plays. If not for trey alecander thr jays lose by 30. What happened to low post with kalkbrenner? If st johns had a better center then they may go far. Shireman couldnt make a shot if the rim was triple the size. They better get it together fast

Had a 9 pick parlay & only creighton blew it lost out on 9k but I’m not mad st johns played with their hearts from start to finish
Creighton should go to the elite eight or further this year theyre not that bad

They played their A+ game against UConn, they only had one place to go, downward. Shooting 50% from the 3 against UConn is not sustainable.
