This movie was insane. Not entirely original but took such intense elements and out them together perfectly.. Nazi's viewing "half breeds" as food.. Very very gruesome. Karina, Maud, Estelle, Chems, and Xavier put together one of the darkest nightmares for us all.. Hard watch but fucking brilliant.
You're right on about the father, however where the movie messes up is that even though the father apparently doesn't like dark hair, the little girl has dark hair. This movie was fantastic though and definately one of the best from the After Dark Horror Fest, even though they didn't show it during the Fest.

Basically she was taken from her parents when she was little, and the guy told her that if she was good, they'd come get her. She did everything they said, and she is still waiting. The children in the mine are hers and Hans's. They hid them because they were abnormal and the Nazi father wanted rid of them.
To me, this scene represents the epitome of virtuosity in film making. Frontiers had a pretty unoriginal story, and in the hands of others may have come to be just another generic horror movie. However, it's scenes like this which completely set it apart. The combination of the disturbing dialogue, the haunting music and the amazing performances all work together to create something utterly beautiful amidst bleak darkness, absolutely breathtaking. This remains one of my favourite scenes from ANY film, regardless of genre.

Her character has been kidnapped as a child, raised as an hostage, married by force and raped by a psycho/néonazi to give him a descendance. So yes, she is totally fucked up.

I agree with you. With this and High Tension, who would've thought that the French could make such good, gruesome, brutal horror films?

Maud Forget had the best role in this film and she is as pretty as Krina. I love this film.
