I am an atheist and remain so after some experience with DMT. What's changed is that I no longer believe that this reality is the only one there is or the only one we exist in.
Never done DMT and probably never will but I’ve eaten mushrooms a couple of times. I was never a religious or spiritual type of person but then I started having sensory seizures (temporal lobe epilepsy) and had a couple of ecstatic seizure auras. Those were quite interesting to say the least and I wouldn’t say that they made me religious or spiritual. It made me look more into the science behind religious and spiritual belief and electrical brain activity.
My experience was profoundly intense and emotional. Initially, I was gripped by fear, genuinely believing I was on the brink of death. However, in the final moments, I was enveloped by an overwhelming sense of love and peace. It felt as though all the love I had rejected throughout my life was flooding back to me, which moved me to tears. It was almost as if I was mourning for myself.
I think our entire concept of theism AND science are both absolutely inadequate to describe what is actually going on in the universe. We are conceited to think that we are even capable of understanding the greater truth or putting a name to it.
Although religion can go wrong is many ways as well, most people aren't cut out to be atheists and it doesn't end well if they refuse to pivot. The modern world and atheism lead to pathology; by now it should be pretty obvious. We need a natural spirituality that is resilient and aware enough to keep our brains healthy so we can see through the conditioning and the propaganda and stay on the path of return....
I like to think that many ancient cultures had rites of passage rituals conducted by wise, knowledgable, responsible and respected members of those cultures, and that the use of psychoactives was not so unusual. Wouldn't it be great to see western cultures embrace such an approach.
I have noticed it doesn't matter how euthymic I am or how sunshiny and bright the day is...everytime I do shrooms I get clinically depressed... than after the trip is over I feel amazing. Only 5% of the time I had amazing trips. Acid on the other hand is always gentle. (I sometimes mix weed to make it pleasant... but sometimes it can be intense.) I am not big on fasting, cleansing, and diet and ritual on shrooms. THAT'S JUST NOT ME. One can listen to rap and hip hop and still do psychedelics. People think once you do these, you need to "fit" certain type. Well.. no. I want to preserve the old me instead of going full New Age. Loved this video. Love videos like this in general.
Yeah, gotta be you! I will say, having done it both ways, ya just feel a lot better having cleaned. I don’t consider myself new age at all, but there is something to making the journey for sacred. I’m just a good old dude who happened to almost die and then found psychedelics. I can’t do a lot of the new age stuff either :)
Make yourself comfortable at home and dont do heroic (big) doses, start small (1 to 2 gram dried mushrooms, for instance) so you feel safe each time. Until you have enough experience without being overwhelmed. Then, build up the doses while monitoring your feelings and effect in the days after. Always put your wellbeing first. Then you will be good. Never go above 7 gram dried mushrooms, the golden teacher is often highly recommended.
I can tell you, it feels like you're walking on air. You convince yourself that you're moving forward but when you look down you notice that you're falling. So you just choose to look ahead and the cycle repeats.
I don’t know either, but I don’t judge. I do think that I wouldn’t be able to believe in purpose, but clearly that’s just not the case for everyone. Lots of atheists find great purpose and serve great good for humanity.
I feel a connection listening to her story, im maybe was idk still working it out since shroomz and lsd happened to fall into my mouth an athiest its so werid lol oh jeez i got to the part where we find out she did 5-meo for the first time omg 😅😅😅😅 lol
Oh man I was hoping this story would end in her telling you that she was in love with you and you would be like, I am in love with you too, and boom that secret crush you’ve always had on her since that first date is actualized 😅😅
It does change reality, namely, how you interact with it and how you can perceive it, and you are part of reality. The expanded state of consciousness that is achieved through psychedelics is freed from normal ego-driven states which allows for growth and enlightenment. This is exactly why psychedelics are so useful for depression, PTSD and other problems. You simply regard it as "chemical processes of the brain", however, if you actually did understand that, you would know that, in the brain, psychedelics cause a burst of neurogenesis and increased brain plasticity which mediates learning. So then, what is your point really? You really don't have one, because the benefits happen both in the brain and in ones expanded direct consciousness of healing and learning. You rigid, nuts and bolts materialist types never do get it, do you?
@@jimmyc8348brain plasticity and neurogenesis aren’t always a good thing. There’s maladaptive forms of both and they can have very negative effects on the brain.
I’ve had several Ayahuasca experiences and have benefited from them, but obviously I’m not in a place to recommend anything over RUclips. I’ll make a video on some of my experience with this medicine soon
Potentially for sure. But I think that keeps going up the chain. Man has bastardized the idea of god, and I believe that’s what most atheists take issue with at the very core. In my opinion, god is more consciousness and all and yes, perhaps our alien ancestors or a conscious creator
Supernatural experiences DO exist, as do higher states of consciousness that connect us to the supernatural and to a higher dimensional reality. However, what is considered "supernatural" is actually just natural but it is beyond our current ability to understand or even conceive of. In other words, the supernatural is what tells us that reality and consciousness is far deeper than we presently understand or even can understand. (I wish more people would understand that.)
@@HoldenLee333I will supply everything needed. I just need support and someone to make sure I don’t drop anything hot when I go. I’m scared to do it alone but already have everything I need. Any advice?
That makes sense. N-n definitely requires 3 massive hits. The 5 as I understand it requires just one good one. Can you imagine 3 massive hits of 5-meO? Mike Tyson took 2 and he was beyond beyond the unknown.
The human brain is an amazing thing. In civilized society, we are deprived of the harrowing experiences that allow it to play out the full range of conscious experiences. Drugs are the easiest way for someone to tap into these experiences ( although they can be accesses by meditation with a lot more work). I think it does a disservice to the brain to think that an experience is so profound that the only explanation is supernatural. We evolved over 3 billion years in a horrendous fight for survival. The brain has locked within it everything needed to exist in a world that is unimaginably hostile by todays standards. When you unlock these vestigial parts of the mind, you are seeing an ancient wisdom, but it is a natural wisdom, not a supernatural one.
Supernatural experiences DO exist, as do higher states of consciousness that connect us to the supernatural and to a higher dimensional reality. Atheist is a label, but there is still a lack of belief in theism. But it's all just beliefs, isn't it? Even anything you call Truth becomes conceptualised and is another belief.
Until you have the actual experience, God does seem like a religious notion... An experience with the numinous definitely draws one into a need to conceptualize it, and for many, "god" is the concept they grab onto because they're already familiar with the concept.
, then what is it? Cause it sure felt like " I " was being squashed out from whatever I am. I kept dying trying to catch a breath only to be annihilated over and over and not just from my point of view but from all of your points of view. And not just you now but from everything that has ever been alive and has had to die. Neal brennnan describes knowing time; as though or through the eyes of a mountain. I lived or died with every thing. I'm not happy. It's a truth I cannot unsee and as a result, I dread dying as this all goes on to no where passing ketamine paltry concept of forever. While those gazillion masturbating elves grinning at the misery of our (humans) inability to even conceive our predicament until death and the stunning revelation of the mountains witnessing eternity. You're able at the final moment to see the joke. And it's us.
You’re floating inter conscious entanglement of all during an nn journey. 5 meo takes you to god. We have no ability to make sense of the nn realm of all consciousness mixing together. That’s not our end or our reality. Don’t fret my friend. Death is beautiful
I dont get you people. You take known Halisinogen, see stuff ( surprise surprise ) and pronounce yourself beleavers? That makes absolutely no sense😂. I get why a beliver would become atheist after but not the other way around
Excuse me. Did you say its a journey made possible by sacred medicine? Then followed by saying she blasted off? A description coined by Joe Rogan as he describes his recreational use of the different forms of DMT? Then he would go on to explain how you would be in a space full of colors and geometrical shapes. That would often be accompanied by little entities that reminded him of elves? I'm only using Rogan as an example sense he was the one who said "blast off". However, the vast majority of the people who have discussed their experiences with DMT have described the short high in an almost identical way. Use the drug however you see fit. Believe it to be whatever you want it to be. Just be a little more self aware and remember to check in to reality once in a while to remind yourself what it is you're truly doing. Safe trip and enjoy the ride.
Shook her beliefs😁. What , I don’t think so. Once you get Actual Facts. There’s no leaving atheism . 100% no god exists in ANY religion. Human Evolution, maybe watch those videos
First view of your channel and I’m somewhat skeptical of your anecdote and what exactly the purpose of it is. Do you see yourself as a modern day Timothy Leary? Spreading the psychedelic gospel are we? Some kind of PSA for DMT? All you young hipsters and dilettantes need to take a step back and live the life you’ve made for yourself not some pie in the sky psychedelic induced other world.
For thousands of years, many cultures have utilized psychedelics for enlightenment, such as the Greek Kykeon, Hindu Soma, and indigenous peoples' use of psilocybin mushrooms, peyote and ayahuasca. These practices reveal a long-standing connection between psychedelic experiences and the pursuit of enlightenment, self-discovery, and healing. By discussing and sharing these experiences, we can foster a better understanding of the role that psychedelics have played in human history and the ways they might contribute to our personal and collective growth. It is not about advocating for reckless drug use but rather promoting responsible exploration and reflection on the potential benefits and risks associated with these powerful substances.
The ultimate goal could be to live life 100% sober, but for some, life is a nightmare. Psychedelics catalyze changes in default perception so that the nightmare can end.
DMT itself isn't God, it's a molecule. However, the state of consciousness that is induced by psychedelic compounds is a God consciousness that is connected to us all. Psychedelics expand consciousness beyond ego-driven constraints, leading to greater introspection, more expanded thinking and feeling, mystical experiences and the experience of ego-death and rebirth. Some other examples of this are ancient psychedelic brews like the Greek Kykeon and Hindu Soma that were used for spiritual enlightenment; the Kykeon in the Eleusinian Mysteries and Soma in Vedic rituals. Indigenous cultures, such as the Mazatec and Zapotec in Mexico and Central America, have used psilocybin mushrooms in religious ceremonies for millennia. Peyote has been used for thousands of years by Native American tribes like the Huichol and Navajo. Ayahuasca, a DMT-containing brew, is used by indigenous peoples in the Amazon basin, including in Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, and Colombia, for shamanic rituals and healing.
DMT is a molecule, obviously, but the point is that psychedelics cause an expanded state of mind, perception and learning. They elevate the mind beyond normal ego-driven consciousness allowing for enlightenment. In the brain, this also coincides with a burst of neurogenesis and increased brain plasticity, which mediates learning and growth. This is exactly why psychedelics are so helpful for depression and other mental disorders.
@@HoldenLee333 I'm not judging the experience itself - I've had plenty of psychedelic experiences with a variety of compounds and you're right, it really does change perception. Your friend dismissed the experience as a compound dump to the brain - maybe even likening it to what happens naturally when we're close to death. Then, you dumped that compound on her brain (which I have nothing against, and would even advocate) and added something completely unrelated to that chemically-induced experience which is a god. I'm not saying that she didn't have a spiritual experience of course! And maybe I misunderstand what you mean when you say "god." Maybe you just mean that god is consciousness or that we are all god or something that hasn't been defined in a structured theology or with dogma...
Well duh...that's the atheist's whole point - what we call an "experience of god" is just our brain doing brain things it doesn't typically do, but we can force it to via things like meditation, psychedelics, physical trauma, epilepsy, etc.
What counts is the expanded state of consciousness that is achieved through psychedelics where the mind is freed from normal ego-driven states which allows for growth and enlightenment. You rigid, nuts and bolts materialist types never do get it, do you?
@@jimmyc8348 What? So, according to you, "psychedelics cause a burst of neurogenesis and increased brain plasticity which mediates learning" but also that's not precisely an example of describing a "chemical processes of the brain"?" Ok, Doc. I never implied that psychedelics didn't have their uses or weren't beneficial for certain purposes. They clearly are. But so what? So are all sorts of chemicals, which is all the better for us. But c'mon, you can' t honestly think that on one hand our brains generate our thoughts, but on the other hand when we change our brain chemistry then our thoughts are something "non-materialist" (whatever you think you mean by that).
@@ericb9804 Science cannot understand what consciousness actually is. Science can only understand the brain from the perspective of an outside observer, like looking at a machine, but not what conscious experience itself is inside of it, or related questions like, why you experience life from your brain and not some other brain in another body, or why do you exist in ANY brain even if infinite ones exist? Science cannot understand that AT ALL. That's one of the most profound mysteries of existence. Scientists can only study the brain itself, it's cells, chemicals and impulses but not how you get the non-pyhsical phenomenon of Experience. They can study how the brain physically reacts when someone eats chocolate, how the machine parts operate, but they have no clue what the direct EXPERIENCE of that chocolate is from the inside, how the direct conscious experience of chocolate is even possible from any collection of cells and matter. That's a HUGE mystery in science and philosophy for thousands of years. But regarding the brain, just Google all the research showing how psychedelics bind to serotonin receptors and cause all kinds of new connections and brain growth which causes learning. The experience of this is an expanded state of consciousness that causes enlightenment. So weather you're just talking about the material brain or consciousness itself, you are in a state of learning and growth.

However, in the final moments, I was enveloped by an overwhelming sense of love and peace. It felt as though all the love I had rejected throughout my life was flooding back to me, which moved me to tears. It was almost as if I was mourning for myself.
Amazing.
My first time using DXM was like being awakened unto a world that didn't Xist up until that point and it would never fade away. NEO X
I think our entire concept of theism AND science are both absolutely inadequate to describe what is actually going on in the universe. We are conceited to think that we are even capable of understanding the greater truth or putting a name to it.
Well said!
Beautiful story. I've longed for an experirnce like that most of my adult life. I guess for some of us it's just not supposed to happen.
Wow, you're a special friend.
I agree with that completely
I like to think that many ancient cultures had rites of passage rituals conducted by wise, knowledgable, responsible and respected members of those cultures, and that the use of psychoactives was not so unusual. Wouldn't it be great to see western cultures embrace such an approach.
Beautiful story. You’re a wonderful narrator. Good job
Thank you 😊
I love your trip stories. I wish I knew someone like you in my life so I could try tripping in a sacred setting
Thank you. 😊 seek and you shall find
Great story - you have a new sub just for that.
Thanks so much
I have noticed it doesn't matter how euthymic I am or how sunshiny and bright the day is...everytime I do shrooms I get clinically depressed... than after the trip is over I feel amazing. Only 5% of the time I had amazing trips. Acid on the other hand is always gentle. (I sometimes mix weed to make it pleasant... but sometimes it can be intense.)
I am not big on fasting, cleansing, and diet and ritual on shrooms.
I'm so curious what her experience was like! It's too bad that she never said more. Did she ever mention if she is still an atheist?
Don’t know, we lost touch. I do know that she was changed completely, not even sure she realized it yet
Psychedelics are best medicines we have, they show you absolute love and that there's so much more to life than just this material world ❤
Incredible story 💚
Thank you 😊
The main reason I've never tried psychedelics is I fear having entering a psychotic state.
Wonderful storytelling, almost felt like I was there in the desert 🙂↕️
Thank you 😊
I know I'd be depressed too if I had no faith. I cannot even imagine how that feels.
Amazing story.
Wow amazing story telling. 🎉
Thanks, my friend!
Bravo. You're inspirational and thanks...
Thank you :)
I feel a connection listening to her story, im maybe was idk still working it out since shroomz and lsd happened to fall into my mouth an athiest its so werid lol oh jeez i got to the part where we find out she did 5-meo for the first time omg 😅😅😅😅 lol
god, heaven, eternity... none of these things are how we could ever imagine before peering through the veil

Oh man I was hoping this story would end in her telling you that she was in love with you and you would be like, I am in love with you too, and boom that secret crush you’ve always had on her since that first date is actualized 😅😅
Very moving.
thank you
Do you ever hear from her Holden? - a shame your good friend has gone (for now?).
Once in awhile, she’s married with kids and seems pretty good 😊
It's a hallucination it does not change reality. It changes your brain.
Can your brain change your reality? If you change your ways, does reality change around you? The answer is yes

5meodmt is not DMT!!, PEOPLE often confuse it, it is a completely different compound
Yes it is. It's not N-N-DMT if that's what you mean.
I wish god would make it easier for us to feel these things. I have bipolar and so can't safely try these hallucinogenics
I wanna be this guys friend
calling it “bufo” is bad. There is another tryptamine called bufotenine so it could make people get mixed up.
Yes, that's a very good point
Would you recommend Ayahuasca?
I’ve had several Ayahuasca experiences and have benefited from them, but obviously I’m not in a place to recommend anything over RUclips. I’ll make a video on some of my experience with this medicine soon
I’m an atheist… I think the function in our universe that we attribute to a “god” is actually performed by conscious beings.
Potentially for sure. But I think that keeps going up the chain. Man has bastardized the idea of god, and I believe that’s what most atheists take issue with at the very core. In my opinion, god is more consciousness and all and yes, perhaps our alien ancestors or a conscious creator

However, what is considered "supernatural" is actually just natural but it is beyond our current ability to understand or even conceive of. In other words, the supernatural is what tells us that reality and consciousness is far deeper than we presently understand or even can understand. (I wish more people would understand that.)

Yep, I wasn’t totally clear about that. Her first two inhales were nothing. She had one full inhale

That’s absolutely an opinion

What is God but all that is? The Universe itself.
Atheist is a label, but there is still a lack of belief in theism. But it's all just beliefs, isn't it? Even anything you call Truth becomes conceptualised and is another belief.
Religion has nothing to do with reality.
You’re projecting. I’m not religious and never mentioned religion in the video. God is not religion
Until you have the actual experience, God does seem like a religious notion... An experience with the numinous definitely draws one into a need to conceptualize it, and for many, "god" is the concept they grab onto because they're already familiar with the concept.
God is not religion but is Religion too x

, then what is it? Cause it sure felt like " I " was being squashed out from whatever I am. I kept dying trying to catch a breath only to be annihilated over and over and not just from my point of view but from all of your points of view. And not just you now but from everything that has ever been alive and has had to die. Neal brennnan describes knowing time; as though or through the eyes of a mountain. I lived or died with every thing.
I'm not happy. It's a truth I cannot unsee and as a result, I dread dying as this all goes on to no where passing ketamine paltry concept of forever.
Just to be clear, my friend, Joe Rogan became exposed to the DMT world, he didn’t expose the world to DMT. This trip was 15 years ago

God is not religion, my friend. The simplistic view of reality comes from both sides
Oh, sweet summer child ☺️
First view of your channel and I’m somewhat skeptical of your anecdote and what exactly the purpose of it is. Do you see yourself as a modern day Timothy Leary? Spreading the psychedelic gospel are we? Some kind of PSA for DMT? All you young hipsters and dilettantes need to take a step back and live the life you’ve made for yourself not some pie in the sky psychedelic induced other world.
Thanks Grandpa. World’s going so well for everybody, must not be any other way than the status quo
👍
😊
1:18 “To her, it was just a dump of DMT to the brain.” Then, you proceed to dump DMT into her brain and say it’s god?
Don’t put words in my mouth, and try it once if you’re so insistent on judging. Let’s see how you come out on the other side
Easy to judge that until you’ve done it. If you haven’t done a psychedelic like DMT, you have no frame of reference
Yeah, just let me know your thoughts after your first DMT journey. We’ll reconvene
@@HoldenLee333 really? These are my thoughts after plenty of DMT trips. Get a clue.
