In her own way she had a advantage that the other Brides didn't have She was already born a Muslim where the others "Converted" and she may have known what was expected of her. I'm sure she was very happy at how Alia, Ali & Abir turned out and made her very proud. Can you imagine how challenging it must have been for him to be King at 18.
What was expected of her, or any other wife, had nothing to do with religion. They're marrying a monarch, which isn't like marrying a civilian. A heir apparent is constantly schooled to be the next monarch. Becoming King has its challenges regardless of age, but he was most certainly prepared for it since birth.
Queen Alia was the third wife of King Hussein (Jordan). She founded the Office of the Queen of Jordan and gave it an active and public role. The active role she took in Jordan has been emulated by her successors. She financed social development projects, placing particular emphasis on women and children. She often made surprise visits to hospitals and national institutions, aiming to raise service standards and help people to help themselves. In her drive to ensure that children from impoverished backgrounds received their right to education, she fostered close ties with schools such as the Schneller School for Orphans, which took many of the street children that Queen Alia sent there. Her commitment to improving social services continued throughout her lifetime and was still pursued in her name after her death, when King Hussein ensured the continuation of the many educational scholarships given in her honor. Alia's love of the arts and literature inspired the establishment of libraries throughout the country, including one at the Central Bank of Jordan and another in the King Hussein Medical City. Her interest in the arts led to the founding of the Haya Cultural Centre for Children, the National Folklore Troupe and the Alia Art Gallery. It was also instrumental in conceiving the Jerash Festival for the Arts. In 1974, Alia called for women to be granted the right to vote and be elected for parliament. Alia died in a helicopter crash in 1977 at age 28.
Sorry but I don't believe the helicopter crash was an accident: In my opinion it was done on purpose. Let's not forget the Jordanian people who, with each of his marriages had something against the bride; Tony Gardener was too European and Aliya was too much of a commoner and because king Hussein did not agree to divorce her they found some other way to get rid of her. I surely hope that king Abdullah will live a more peaceful live than his father, and also his half sister Haya but that is a different story. By the way, we never hear anything about Haya's brother. Regards from the Middle East. 🐪
