My dad grand dad and 2 cousins were BFD. Over 200 years of service to that great city. Remember my dad coming home smelling like smoke. He had a smile on his face. Had a 5 bagger today.

We are blessed with an administration in the City that has taken fire protection as a priority???? I have NEVER heard of a mayor in Boston that the firefighters and union and department as a whole hasn't had a problem with!

It's now 2018. From my intensive research, it looks like things haven't changed much. Politicians continue to mouth their perennial excuse, "Financial restraints prohibit improvements" -- until it happens to them and/or their families. Then they readily sing a different tune.

Rescue 2 and Engine 42 just moved into their new house. First new firehouse in Boston in over 30 years.

High pressure equals lower flow. Water puts out fire, not pressure.

Mayor Kevin H White sent me a letter thanking me for my interest and becoming a civil servant but as the letter stated the city of Boston is not accepting Caucasian applications at this time

Wrong, in 1678 Boston created the first paid fire department in the country. Colony or not.
