  • This was a lovely amp, powerful, clean, great tone shaping and compact. Unfortunately it was possibly a faulty one (now confirmed by Thomann), I noticed it produced a little more background noise than I expected, occasionally it would click, as if there was some sort of issue with the mains power, and the volume would drop for a while. I tried it with two BFM cabs which caused a loud click about every second. It only happened with this combination of cabs, however neither my Trace Elliot or Markbass heads could replicate this issue and these cabs were my main gigging rig for over 10 years. I returned the head to Thomann. Update I have bought the dual version of this head now, and it is working well.
I had a couple of comments on the video, I am not really interested in a prolonged debate with keyboard warriors and have deleted them. The first said that I should connect the speakers before power up. Well yes, but that did not really illustrate the fault I had when a second speaker was added, so appreciate that is what you would normally do. Secondly a critical commentary the video sounded like every other amp on RUclips. This was only intended as quick snapshot of the amp, it was filmed on a mobile phone. If you want to get a detailed impression of the amp tone within the limitations of RUclips's processing of video / audio you might need to listen elsewhere, or track an amp down and listed to it yourself in person. Peace and love etc.
