- Zhiyun's preview video lights, the X100 and G60 had some really crazy new form factors that opened up new possibilities for how powerful lights could be used. The new G200 is no different, creating a tiny 200+W video head with a separate power supply. It will even reach 312 Watts in a louder Boost Mode! But how does it hold up in the real world? We're going to find out!

Hi Wes, is 200w bright enough for photography work in a softbox? What kind of exposures would it be capable of?

It’s bright enough that I’ve been using it as the kicker light in a 5’ strip box in the studio. At 100% (not boost mode) it was perfect for my usual f/2.8, 1/250s, ISO100.
So if i have a strip box from wescott, it will fit because itz a bowen mount?

Hi Wes, does this light gets really hot for using 10 hrs like events and weddings events?
Nope. I ran it for over 8 hours on a few occasions and after about 30 mins it reaches an equilibrium which isn’t terribly hot. Probably because the air passes straight through it, there’s really nowhere for it to soak.
@@WesPerry what about using for shortfilm and indoor shoots ? And when compare to g200/amaran 200xs/nanlite fs 200 which is best ?
@jokerstudio7260 that’s a very personal question. Being such different form factors it really comes down to that. While the G200 can fit into spaces others can’t, the dangly bits can be more annoying… or less annoying!
@@WesPerryWhat about nanlite fs-300b vs zhiyun g200? Brightness, overall. Will you make a short video of this both comparison. For the price, because g200 has max of 300 watts but that's an option for max mode. When fs-300 is 300 watts by its full power.
