I agree, but there is a reason it’s not used more often. You have to actively plan for it or else you have a relatively high chance of a fumble. Also you usually don’t see people getting any yards on this plane to massive risk for probably not too much reward. I still think it should be used more often however and it’s a much better idea than a Hail Mary in my opinion.
If you’re gonna throw a lateral pass then you betterr be ready to hall ass and guard tf outta who your throwing it to. Especially if it’s the end of the game.
As an Australian that enjoys NFL, I love when they turn into spontaneous rugby games. It's cool that the rugby roots still get pulled out occasionally.
I had a hard time getting into Aussie rules football. Just too foreign to my brain. It certainly resembles rugby a lot closer than American football does.
laterals are so amazing. Hardly EVER see it in the pros anymore. I remember,(and would love to see it sometime) when "2 minute Tommy" Kramer (Vikngs 78(?) came back and scored 3 tds in under 2 minutes to beat 49ers....we kicked off to them with seconds left and the y damn near scored lateraling all the way down to I think the red zone
I think if a NFL team took a page out of the Rugby playbook and mastered a few lateral plays it could be a very dangerous weapon. You only really see lateral plays at high school and college level. At NFL level it would be too risky.
@@terah101 its only "risky" because the lateral passing skills are shit in NFL. You could argue in rugby (where they lateral the whole game) you risk more from fumbling it as the opposition are guaranteed the ball after. On the contrary in the NFL if you fumble it, the in possession team can still recover the ball. As you correctly say if receivers had a decent level of skills with laterals passes (say they actually offloaded it like rugby players - search up rugby offloads on RUclips) it could really change the game dramatically and I can think of several positions whereby even introducing a single lateral in to plays could be game breaking. Particularly when you have some elite rugby players from the IPP on the scene.
As an Americans who’s played a lot of rugby. To answer your question- it’s not used constantly because of the high risk of turnovers and turnovers are one of the main indicators of wins and losses. However, it has huge upside so I’m surprised it has t been incorporated more. Or that NFL teams haven’t brought pro rugby squads in for workshops. Because if the “art” is learned it could mitigate a lot of the risk while maintaining the big upside!
Aye Ding Prod these people of utbe are seeing how good u r doing so they trie to bring u down so whatever comes your way just know ur doimg great love 💘 your ViDs

Most underrated/underused move in American Football
Would love to see American Football do Tiki Taka.

Most risky move, too
High risk high reward but overall would be way more fun to see it used more

Ding Productions don’t forget music city miracle
Benjamin Wellington u still have 0. HA
As an English person who has watched rugby I can never understand why this isn't constantly used in American football.
As an American who doesn't watch rugby, I can never understand why laterals aren't used constantly either

@@stelz750its only risky because the players aren’t trained to do it, do you see rugby players fumble the ball everytime they pass?
Why would it be used if there's a faster way to score?
If this was how NFL was played as standard I might enjoy it.
I love your intro.

American football is not rugby with higher IQ. Americans are too retarded for laterals.
Love the intro
Every team needs to use that hook & ladder play the Dolphins used. A lateral off a button hook to a running back.
These plays are when you find out just how well the announcers know the players names.
Perfect idea for a video.
Ding, I love that into so much bro.
