1 Of the rare analysts out there that studies the rosters - u can tell by how he rattles off the names (not 'surface' bs & guessing - 😂).

The defensive ends are the big concern because we lost Laiatu Latu and the Murphy twins to the NFL. Our new defensive coordinator Malloe has been at UCLA for a couple years as a position coach and under Lynn last year. The hope is that the knowledge and scheme that Lynn brought will continue to be a part of the new defense, which should equate to a stable defense coming out the gates.

Hoping the defense doesn’t skip a beat. Most ideal situation. Still will be tough in the new conference but I like that the Bruins will be an underdog this year

@@JoeBroback Joe, I think being the underdog will pay dividends and they will be able to play loose with nothing to lose. The defense will also perform because of the coaching and the schemes will support them in making plays. Eric Bienemy is going to open up the playbook and let them play to their strengths, like the bowl game of Boise State and significantly run the Ball more timely manner. There is a genuine buzz and energy in the program that has the team believing so I would not be surprised if they go 7-5 .. keep up the great work and amazing opportunities will come to your way..

BigTen-context only comparison: from Ucla's 2024 skill players' room, I count a minimum of 6 future-draftable players. Beyond those top 6? 1-2, Or more, may make NFL as UDFAs. Does PSU's set of '24 skill players exceed Ucla's? In terms of future-NFL draftability for '24 PSU's collection of skill players? Tbf, '24 Ucla might struggle to win 4 games. But I bet, w/o looking, only 1 of the other currently projected bottom-5 2024 b1g squads will rival Ucla's skill guys in terms of future-draftability (MichSt). And, that was only focusing on QBs/RBs/FBs/WRs &TEs (FBs r making a comeback on NFL rosters). Enjoy ur content.

"Upon further review": July '24 update re prospects for '24 Ucla fb.
cKelly left no legit C on '24 roster + no OL-, IDL- or edge depth. Means 4-5 wins for '24 Ucla. Greatness of below-listed, '24 skill players may be wasted bc of cKelly (due to so-so pass-blocking):
WR tmAtimalala: '24 breakout superstar on offense. My hope is orig.b1g defenses find out about TMA the hard way. Titus will be featured on jet sweeps, reverses & plays where (TMA) gets the ball in space. 6'1" 190
RB1 tjHardenJr: could've been an all-conf.-level '24 power back if cKelly had not reduced '24 UCLA's OL depth to a smoking crater 🙄. Sunday player. 6'2" 215
WR jmSturdivant: #1 nationally-known superstar on '24 squad (cooked now-NFL CB Gonzalez in '22 game between Cal. & Orygyn). 6'3' 205
TE1 mMatavao: featured TE. Ex of Oregon. Caught e-z td pass for Ore., at 'Shoe in '21, (which led to voluntary self-demotion by tOSU's then-DBs coach). 6'6" 263
WR rFloresJr: ex of ND, from jAllen's hs.
    Proven, above-avg p-4 starter, Sunday player. 6'2" 205
WR kGilmer: speedy slot from Bronny's hs. Hi-impact guy. Could've done more in '24 if Kelly had not left the 2024 OL roster depth cupboard bare 🙄. 6'2" 180
FB1 aAdkins: ex-Army fb. Will be featured in Bieniemy's w. coast offense as run-blocker, h-back. Adkins' weight, 245, is not a typo. A² has nice footwork (🔥). 6'2" 245
WR LoganLoya: savvy veteran slot. Proven ability to get open ('23 Ucla's 'poor, poor man's' Welker). Formerly in #2- or #1 role in former hcKelly's offense. Imo: Will be a possession wr w a decent share of targets. 5'11" 185
RB2 kJones: the 'quicks' rb who is overshadowed by star rb Harden. '24 Ucla offense will use a fb which may reduce Jones's carries. Keegan is a legit p-4 rb. 5'10" 185 R-Sr
    QB1 eGarbers: could've been a top-10 qb in 18-team b1g. Likely won't have time to throw. Nice p-4 qb1 (above jag+). 6'3" 210
WR cShaw: added strength & 'good weight' after 1 yr. Son of former Stanford hcShaw (who, like his son, was a hi-iq, talented cfb player). In line 4 more reps in '25. 6'2" 195 R-Fr
    WR bPegan
"I owe u [Braden] an apology. I wasn't really familiar w ur game." Shaq meme applies. Nice frame.
Re Ucla's skill players: the build, speed & traits of '24 Ucla's top-end skill players easily matches that of the equivalent players on PSU's '24 roster. 6'4" 200 R-So
LukeDuncan: young, but hi-iq qb2. Won qb2 role over more veteran players. Bieniemy's NFL-style offense is difficult to learn. NorCal hs product that is too underrated. 6'6" 205 RS-Fr
*Star TE hHabermehl: injured, out 4 year. Yuge loss. Was #2-featured player in '23 Ucla offense. Likely future-NFL prospect. 6'7" 250

Wait, what about reuben unije, Left OT from Houston? He's the clear starter. And what about Alani Makihele, 365 # RG from UNLV? Josh Carlin moved to center in spring ball. Do some homework, my friend.

Maybe Joe was thinking of S Moore? Whom Ucla imported from Cal? Joe is super thorough.
