  • KCS 4177, CP 8201, and running as mid-train DPU is KCS 4187, lead CPKC 247 west, across Forest Grove Road on the CPKC Watertown Subdivision. This was filmed in Pewaukee, WI. It felt really nice to catch a CPKC train finally! Due to things going in the past few mounts, I haven't been able to catch many trains on this line. Hopefully that'll start to change in the next few weeks. I have a lot of new spots I want to try out. This was a quick pit stop for me, I crossed a bridge to the east, and saw this train coming. I did a U-turn, and beat him here with a few minutes to spare. Leading was a KCS SD70ACe, with a great sounding RL K5LLA! Trailing was a very clean CP unit, such a rare sight for CP! The DPU was yet another KCS ACe, howling away. Great power for someone who has only been catching CN's for the last few months. Like I said, there's a bunch of new spots I want to try out this summer, so hopefully I'm able to do that.

Nice catch! Nice to see some good ol CPKC action! Cant wait to see those new spots your gonna try out! Also if your in the Brookfield area and your seeing more slow trains than usual, thats likely due to track work being done over there. I was told a few weeks ago that there was a slow order in Pewaukee due to that reason and by now they should be doing the Brookfield part. Especially after seeing how fast this train was.

Thanks! I had no clue about the slow orders in Brookfield. That is nice to know. I wanna hit some spots west of Oconomowoc, some crossings in Elm Grove, and I want to try and make it down the C&M again. For some odd reason, I really enjoyed the C&M last time I was down there!
