    Wow... i have been talking my friends about this mod for YEARS... and now you show the video of how it is done.... F-ING LOVE IT ❤❤❤❤😅😂😅😂

      I seen soooo many people do this mod but would not say how to do it or how hard it was or show pictures of it even up close so I figured I would try it myself and do a video on it so everyone else who wanted to do it would have an idea on whats involved. I love how it looks and glad you were able to find my video. Thanks for taking the time to comment and good luck on your project.

      The glass I ended up using was off a GMT800 or 2002-2006 Escalade glass with a GMT900 or 2007-2013 Yukon/Tahoe 3rd brake light.

    Hey man so I have an 06 so I have 06 glass were the other two holes doable for mounting that on even tho you didn’t pursue it?

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  4 месяца назад

      I think you are just going to have to do the same thing I did using the Escalade glass. Just hold the brake light to the glass and mark out the holes. Then drill and install riv nuts.

    Nice vid! I thought that was going to be way easier than it turned out to be. Also thanks for the update about the rear wiper. I was going to leave a comment asking if that worked afterward

      Its not all that hard if you have all the tools. I think the worst part is the fitment is not all that eye appealing but you would hardly notice unless you knew what you were looking for. I guess the best part is I figured out where you had to drill and what screws and hardware to use to make it easier for anyone who wants to do this.

      Yeah I seen tons of pictures but no one ever explained how they did it or even showed very good pictures of it on there vehicle.

    Out of curiosity, have you tried the D-pillar covers from the 900 on the 800? I'm curious how far off they are from fitting, and if they'd transition better on the third brake light if you could get them to fit.

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  Год назад +1

      I doubt they would fit but perhaps next time im at a pick and pull I will give it a try for the fun of it.

      I doubt I ever will but it is almost the same process just holes are in a different place.

    2:47 that’s the best looking 3rd brake light
    Why not put that one on?

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  2 месяца назад +1

      That is called an opinion and there would be no video needed for the installation of a bolt on part.

    I'm sorry, and the size of the bit to make the hole?

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  Год назад +1

      I dont know what size bit I used but manufacturer suggests Application Hole Size: 0.351"-0.356"

  • @RebelD1967

    I see the 3 bolt holes but u mention 5 where r the other 2?

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  Год назад +1

      The other 2 screws would have gone near the outer edge of the 3rd brake light but there were no cut outs in the glass for them. They are very small and honestly dont add any significant strength to be worth while.

    Can i install it on the original rear glass without replacing it ?

    • @PostalRedneck
      @PostalRedneck  2 года назад +2

      I would imagine. You would be solely relying on double sided tape to hold it so make sure you prep your surfaces well and get a good brand tape. One thing I would worry about is a car wash brush getting under it and ripping the thing clean off. I hard mounted mine as im an avid off roader and think I would have it ripped clean off in no time on the trials.

      @@PostalRedneck it was years ago it was a truck missing a bunch of parts and it hit a jump at the sand dunes.

      Ahh The Pre Gen Avalanche! That thing was a blast and was the start of all the fun I now have at Silver Lake. My next build was Baja Burban that I ran for 2 years and then I build Disaster Transport that I have been running for 3 years now. ruclips.net/video/EV7Jr0yR01Q/видео.html

      Funny thing is I sold the third brake light and it pretty much funded the entire build. If I remember right I got $50 for just the LED part of it
