- We Dey Yeah are a cultural, quadrille dance group on St Croix. Virgin Islands Quadrille was born out of the influence of the European Quadrille in the 1800s and is the precursor to the American Square Dance. The traditional music that accompanies Quadrille is the official music of the US Virgin Islands known as Quelbe or "Scratch" which is the light and upbeat folk music.

If this was "created" from the French. Why is that in France quadrille is not prevalent in their culture today? Also, why Jamaica has quadrille dance in their culture and was never colonized by France? We bin deh yah.
why ? because its a lie....Jamaica's quadrille dances is much more varied and elaborate...example camp style , the broke foot and the formal Quadrilles.
Our quadrille was adjusted to OUR culture not yours, the same as quadrille in Haiti and other islands. I'll tell you the same thing that was said to another Jamican, Jamica does not represent the other islands in the Caribbean.
@@cruciancruzangirl05 Greetings I from Cruz WD to sis. My point is that they stole our culture not the other way around. What you think square dance comes from. Quad = 4= square. You got a point though.
