    Lyrics:
    [Verse 1]
What's the point of living without dying for an ego?
So we validate our fantasies to feel like we are special inside
You know we love to lie
We like grabbing onto anything to feel like we're important
Not a moment that is shorter than a hiccup or a blink of an eye
You know we're scared of time
    [Chorus]
    But we're all gonna die
    Decompose into daffodils and dandelions
The bees will use our flowers for whatever they like
Make the honey that our grandkids will put insidе
    Their morning tea
    It's the thing of lifе
    We're all eating each other
    The thing of life
    Nobody lives forever
    The thing of life
    [Verse 2]
We don't know how to accept we're just a product of a chance
And less like gods but more like plants
Who can't stop making up reasons we're alive
    (We're alive, we're alive, we're alive)
You know we love to deny
(To deny, to deny, to deny)
So we paint our face with intellect
    Pretending we're not curious
    Too busy, super serious
Don't have the time to do what we like
(What we like, what we like, what we like)
    Baby look at the sky
    [Chorus]
    'Cause we're all gonna die
    Decompose into daffodils and dandelions
The bees will use our flowers for whatever they like
Make the honey that our grandkids will put inside their morning tea
    It's the thing of life
    We're all eating each other
    The thing of life
    Nobody lives forever
    The thing of life
    We're all eating each other
    The thing of life
    Nobody lives forever
    The thing of life

This is like one of the few songs that is about not falling into love or falling out of love is and is still ground breaking. Refreshing and yet horrifyingly, true.

I'm dying and it's not horrifying to me at all. I won't be getting buried but I still like the song. She speaks the true, and with a beautiful voice. I have a degree in Thanatology (the study of death and dying) and several of the papers that I've written over the years have to do with how, over the past 100 years, we've passed families taking care of their dead, to handing it over to funeral homes. In doing so, we've removed ourselves so far from death that peope are afraid of it and don't deal with it or thought of their own very well any longer. It's also allowed funeral homes to exploit that discomfort and prey upon people at one of the worst times of thier lives, and prey of their grief and guilt to overcharge and cause financial hardship on top of the greiving. I planned and paid for my body dispostion in advance, so that my family wouldn't have to deal with it, and wouldn't be fucked over by a POS funeral home...straight into the oven after death, no visitation, no funeral, no embalming, no coffin (other than the cardboard one for cremation, no clothes....$750 and my fmaily gets to keep my life insurance to sustain themselves for years to come. On my deathdate a year later, after everyone has had a chance to take 'ashes' for a momento (I have some of my best friend's 'ashes' in a skull necklace made just for ashes), what's left will be spread over my mom and dad's graves.

@@beestorm7609 That 'universe' bullshit is something else people made up to try to pretend that they aren't as insignificant as we are. At the absolute outside, unless you're one of the 0.0000001% of humans who make history enough to acheive a long-term recognition, your memory may remain alive 100 years. I'm dying and my grandkids are still really young so, there may be a memory of me for roughly 70 more years and then I'll fade into obscurity, like everyone else does. The universe does not give a fuck about anyone of us - you're more insignicant to it (since it's just inanimate shit flying around in the void) than you are on Earth, and you're damned insignificant on Earth to all but a VERY few members of the species. Yes, you molecules will go on to create new things but, it's not you, no memories are transferred, you're just fucking dead. I died once before, several decades ago, for a couple of minutes, and seeing that there wasn't shit afterwards is why I've lived my life to the fullest that I could all these years and will die this time without regrets or guilt. I've told people for the past 40+ years, "Dying is easy, comedy is hard". I'll die at peace, either suddenly from what I'm dying of, or by my own hand if it begins to make the quality of life insufferable.
As someone with a degree in Thantology (the study of death and dying), most of my adult life has been death. How we die, how we greive, how funeral homes screw everyone because we took death out of the hands of familes over the past hundred years, and gave it to funeral homes, who have in turn made a killing off the living, preying on families at one on the most vulerable times in their lives, using guilt to get them to spend money that they shouldn't be spending on the dead, at a 500-1000% profit margin.
The universe doesn't give a shit about all that either.

This is just morbidly bitter sweet, knowing that life is just a cycle and somethings don't really means much in the grand scale of things but you just gotta enjoy the experience of this moment called life.

I love this song. It's honestly been so helpful for me to come to terms with my own mortality. The fear of death has paralysed me for so so long, but the serene acceptance in this song has helped me face it much easier. I could die tomorrow and that would be 22 years gone, but it would be ok. I've made sad memories and happy memories and the eternal molecules that made up my body for this short blink of an eye will return to the Earth, where it'll go and do other things for the universe. To my molecules I was the blink of an eye, but for me it was forever. I've come to appreciate that impermenance a bit more

I'm in love with this. I heard a short clip of the chores on Facebook and had to find it. I would love a longer version. It's so hauntingly real and her voice is so sweet and lively. I'd love to hear a song on her thoughts of dark subjects like depression and mental instability. I know it's an odd thing to want to listen to. But there are people out there who like knowing they are understood on a deeper level.
