    Great video Henry, I love my Harley but this type of group with road captains and pecking orders don't appeal.

      I own an XV 1900 to and I also prefere to ride alone. There I can find the real freedom. I ride with others occasionally and regret it it often afterwards.
      There is always one guy in the group who seems to bee born just to poison my otherwise good mood with his dangerous riding and stupid macho behaviours of a cave man.

    I own second hand Harleys, I ride as an individual to enjoy the freedom. I don't wear merchandise or a fake back patch, that's the reserve of true 1% ers.
    Sure live and let live, these people enjoy the HOG scene, good luck to them.
    Not all Harley riders are accountants and Retired doctors, some of us are just normal bikers who acknowledge ever other biker with a wave and a smile, enjoy our bikes and have an appreciation of all that is motorcycling. Don't judge a book by its cover, just enjoy your biking experience what ever you ride.

    I was riding to work. 14 years ago. On a empty country road... had to ride 25 miles....in West Australia .
    I was doing seasonal work unloading road trains full of grain. A girl who also worked at the grain silo past me. I was on a zx14 doing 80 mph. I was intriqued, caught her up. She was doing 105mph. I backed off as there are roos around early in the morning. Then i went through a small village...im translating...and out of there roared a noisy Harley ridden by a young guy, justvwearing a singlet, fresh out of his girlfriends bed and high on coke...so it seemed . He came out in front of me , accelerating, caught the girl up and past her. I was on a zx14 Kawasaki and the performance of the bike equalled mine. Unreal and insane as there were kangaroo's skipping onto the road every day just outside that village. So im doing 70 mph, he pulls out, leaves me catches the chick flying along at a 100plus and disappears. So to Harley ..... some respect.

    I am a bit surprised by this video.I am a great fan of his shows,but there is no dought a hint of sarcasm in his tone on this one.I am neither a HOG or Harley rider and I am a bit perplexed by their jackets.But the one thing that cannot be denied ,is the fact that they do draw the non biking public's attention when they are about.You only have to look at video's on here[Fenlanders Rally,Sheringham Rideout 2018],where thousands turned out to look at the bikes.

    ....but at 03:33 the group gets split up at the junction - then they possibly take risks to catch up and try to overtake 3 or 4 cars before they lose sight of the 'pack'....then 'splat' - a farm vehicle or huge truck on our crap narrow 'Roman roads with a few layers of tarmac added' excuses for proper highways , gets in the way - or the rider crunches down a huge pothole on a bend . I went on a few charity runs with 30 bikes in a group where they block cars at junctions and go through red lights ...just to deliver pet food to the rspca etc....never again !

    • @spudgunson
      @spudgunson 3 года назад +1

      Sounds like you had a very bad experience. FYI, having the 'second man drop off' means that if the group is split up for example at the junction, the following riders simply follow the road until they see the next 'drop off' who directs which way to turn. The drop off rider simply waits then rejoins at the rear of the group in front of the last man who is designated as 'sweep' Its a simple and effective way of making sure all riders follow the route and don't have to play catch up, which as you say is dangerous. Its a good system and one that all large group rides could benefit from.

    Not my thing. I've enjoyed Harleys for years but have go live-down the corny HoG thing at one end and the 'righteous biker' at the other. It's just another bike when all's said and done.

    Watching that is a good reason never to own a Harley....

    I don’t like Harley’s, they do nothing for me.
