  • Ethan Jeff-Hall holds a strong lead atop the points standings heading into the penultimate round of the 2024 Ginetta Junior Championship season this weekend at Donington Park.
Jeff-Hall (R Racing) has been a revelation in his rookie season, scoring six outright wins so far including a brilliant Anglesey hat-trick and a crucial victory at Silverstone three weeks’ ago. Those results, coupled with five further podium finishes, have put him 48 points clear in the standings with six races remaining.
Charlie Hart (Elite Motorsport) is Jeff-Hall’s closest rival in the points, having scored a brilliant maiden win at Silverstone last time out. That success was a long-time coming, having previously finished second on six occasions this season as part of his remarkable run of top six finishes in every race so far.
Only nine points behind Hart is Chase Fernandez, who joins Jeff-Hall in targeting a fourth consecutive drivers’ title for R Racing. The former Ginetta Junior scholar shot into contention with a triple win at Snetterton recently, added to further victories at Silverstone and on the first visit of the season to Donington Park in May.
A double-winner that weekend was Henry Joslyn (Preptech UK), and he needs similar results this time around to keep himself in title contention for the Brands Hatch season finale. In a similar position is Marcus Saeter (R Racing), a two-time race-winner to date in an impressive debut campaign.
Alongside Hart’s maiden win, Elite Motorsport had plenty to celebrate at Silverstone as race-winning rookie Isaac Phelps made a welcome return to the podium with a pair of third-place finishes and Archie Clark took a maiden rostrum as part of his best weekend in the championship to date.
Ethan Carney (Preptech UK) also has momentum with him heading into the weekend after securing a breakthrough top six race result at Silverstone, whilst Jude Peters (E3 Sport) is in high spirits after qualifying in the top six for the first time in his Ginetta Junior Scholarship campaign.
Alfie Slater (R Racing) is one to watch after picking up a maiden pole position and a couple of fourth place finishes at Snetterton, while other potential contenders for silverware this weekend include top ten regulars Tom Ingram Hill (R Racing) and Ruben Dan (Elite Motorsport).
Other drivers to impress in the hotly-contested midfield pack include one of the most prolific overtakers on the grid, Felix Livesey (MDD Racing), plus Colin Cronin (Fox Motorsport), Torrin Byrne (Pace Performance) and Alfie Davies (Preptech UK).
Going into the weekend with confidence after each scoring their best race results of the season to date at Silverstone will be Holly Miall (Fox Motorsport), James Ellis (MDD Racing) and Ntiyiso Mabunda (Pace Performance).
No less than 23 talented teenagers are set to the battle it out this weekend, with the competitive grid also featuring points finishers Jack Robinson (Fox Motorsport), Harry Moss (R Racing) and Mahlori Mabunda (Pace Performance), plus debutant Nicco Maccagnani with 24/7 Motorsport.
