I think it was to go with the translation of All is found where it says "Le passé reste au fond des coeurs" ("the past stays in our hearts", past doesn't disappear so doesn't die, so nothing dies) but we're pretty bad at translating
Fun fact, it's so bad first time I thought Elsa said "Rien ne peut" ("nothing can") to answer the line of Iduna "N'aie plus peur", "Don't be scared" but nah it's just bad

Actually she isn't clearly asking who her mother is.If you notice she has put her hands on her heart meaning to embrace the truth with inner conscience. In English by saying show yourself she means to acknowledge who she is while in Hindi who are you isn't about questioning her mother rather she means to ask who she is to acknowledge herself.

Correct translation is "Return home child of mine." It was message from the begining of the movie (All is found song) and now Iduna is reminding Elsa that this is indeed her home and she should stay there.

I'm tearing up, every single one language (except French, as a French person myself im very disappointed in it) nails it beautifully the translation varies but you still got the message. honestly wtf why would she talk about a promise and a bird

Pour moi, l'essentiel ici était de transmettre le sens en priorité. 1, parce que le twist arrive pendant la chanson (que c'était Elsa le 5ème esprit), et 2, parce que les paroles anglaises sont très profondes et très directes, très brutes de sens. Ils ont choisi de faire passer la syncro labiale et la poésie avant le sens. C'est un choix artistique et ils avaient le droit de le faire.
Je trouve juste que c'est la pire décision qui pouvait être prise pour cette partie du film et que ça gâche complètement le propos.
Mais bon, c'est zoli les zozios alors de quoi on se plaint franchement? ^^'
Lilyl t’as raison je suis d’accord après les traducteurs français n’ont jamais été très fort niveau traduction mais bon je suis d’accord c’était l’un des passages les plus importants si ce n’est pas le plus important et ils l’ont mal traduits après le zozios c’est mignon 😂 en tout cas ça fait du bien de parler avec une personne qui ne s’énerve pas ou n’insulte pas quand tu n’es pas d’accord

I loveee the editing 💖 !! There are so many good versions this time, almost all of them improved hugely from the 1st movie to the sequel such as the Castilian, Finnish, Norwegian, Eu. Portuguese and English; and I love the new singers such as the Korean, Kazakh, Vietnamese, Telugu, Tamil and Nortern Sami ones :) The ones that remain among my favourites are the German, Mandarin and Taiwanese Chinese, Latin Spanish, Thai and Danish versions 💕 but I'm still waiting to hear some of my old favourites in HQ like Bulgarian, Serbian and Hungarian.

The Norwegian "vi deg til kraften" is actually more correctly translated to "surrender yourself to the power". "vi" in this context is not "we" (although the word in isolation means that) but it's rather the imperative form of the verb "å vie seg til" (surrender oneself to).
