  • Just going over what i think are the best enchantments to use that don't break the game but make it easy.

    Constant Effect items are cool but there are some low end utility items you can make with low skill, a petty soul gem and some cheap enchantable jewelry or clothes. Nothing super powered but they can be surprisingly useful until you can afford better.
    -Summon Bound Weapon 19 seconds (1 charge cost) or 29 seconds (2 charge cost).
    Basically a Daedric damage weapon that gives you a 10 point bonus to the weapon skill and you won't have to worry about repairing it as you just recast it when you need it. You can't enchant them for added damage but, frankly, not a lot of fights in the game need more than the raw damage you get from these weapons.
    -Soul Trap on Target 12 Seconds (1 charge cost)
    It doesn't last long but you can whittle the critter down first, back off for a second to cast this, then deal the final blow. This also leaves you free to sell off all of the Egg Finder scrolls you find in dungeons.
    -Levitate 1 to 1 for 12 Seconds (1 charge cost)
    This isn't super fast (so no strafing runs on Ordinators) but if you just need to get up to a ledge in a dungeon, to a merchant in a Telvanni tower or over a mountain in the open world this will do the trick. What's more, if you time it right, the 1 charge cost to cast can regenerate just as it runs out so you can get pretty far with it.
    -Water Walking 12 seconds (1 charge cost)
    Same deal for island hopping. It's short duration also means you won't be locked into waiting for a longer spell or potion to wear off if you see an underwater cave or wreck you want to explore.
    -Water Breathing 12 seconds (1 charge cost)
    This resets your breath meter to full so you don't even have to time it too closely.
    -Telekinesis 9 to 9 for 3 seconds (1 charge cost)
    This will let you stand back to trigger traps on doors or chests.
    Taking a step up from the above you can also make a Almsivi or Divine Intervention item (8 charge cost) with a soul gem. You'll need a 15 charge capacity item (an Expensive Ring from the clothier in Balmora will do) but, in a pinch, a Scrib filled petty gem will let you get at least one cast while a Cliff Racer petty soul gem will give you a couple of casts.
    Spoilers (non quest) below.
    Some merchants will always have certain enchanted items for cheap.
    -The Enchanter at the Temple in Balmora will always have a Velothian Helm (light Chitin) that heals 10 points and has 10 casts. May also have shields that do the same.
    -Enchanter at the Mage's Guild in Balmora will always have a restore fatigue amulet.
    -Ra'Vir, the Khajit trader near the Silt Strider in Balmora, will always have a knife, sword and spear that let you summon Bound Weapons for 60 seconds. The spear and basic knife are under 200 gold while the sword and the knife that also has a damage shield are fairly pricey for a newb.
    -The general Trader in Caldera will always have:
    -a ring that gives invisibility for 10 seconds (long enough to break agro if a Cliff Racer is trailing you),
    -an amulet the gives Open on locks up to 20
    -an Amulet that fortifies strength for a short duration
    -a Velothian Robe that heals 10 hit points 10 times

      TY big reply. But i just do the mercantile/personality stuff at start, can just lvl it up as much as you want and buy everything and take all their gold. Go to Balmora, temple guy i think it is, and buy summon golden saint scrolls and clean out everyone in town.
      When gold is not a issue u can then just go to all the trainers and lvl up then every 24 hour (12 trains-- its 2 hours right) go clean out merchants again.

      Frenzy Humanoid 100 pts for 3 sec on Touch.
      Fits on an Expensive Amulet.
      Costs just below 1k gold.
      Casting Frenzy is perfectly legal.
      What a time to be alive.

      LoL.. I always forget that mainly cuz i never have a prob with 1 friendly i might want to kill, their never a need to do it. Just fun for a bit.

      There are some other interesting restocking items (not sure how it works, whenever they are random or not), but I know of
      -Restockable on-use "Jump" rings in shop - they are super cheap and stack, so you can spend less than 1000 Gold (mby even less than 100g) to buy like a 10 of them, and you can do map-wide jumps in the early game
      -Restockable on-use "Fortify Long Blade" Longswords - they are heavy (they weigh 12 each), but they can increase your Long Blade by 7 for 30s each and they stack too, so you can hold few of them, and increase your chance to hit by like 14/21/28% for 30s which should let you hit basically anything in game (and their charge is tiny so they auto-refill quickly).

      Also, your 1 mana cost spells can be used as the first step of multi-step buffs, as it will double only the cheap 1-2 mana spell, meaning you can make Powerful Bound Weapon + Fortify Strength or Agility, Soul Trap + Damage (Drain Health over 3-5s should be very mana efficent, and if you know how much certain enemies have you can aim for these numbers).
      Another pretty busted thing is that there is 150 gold scroll, that restores 20-80hp over 2s, 20-80 fatigue over 2s, and gives you Fortify Attack 10-30 for 60s. For people unaware of morrowind mechanics, 10-30 Fortify Attack increases your Hit Chance by 10-30 (+25% on full fatigue), making them pretty cheap "I can hit you" scrolls, and yes, there are vendors that autorestock them (IIRC some imperial legion dudes but don't quote me on that).
      Hit chance isn't that glamorous as you cap on it pretty early in the game, but it can make lvl 1 Sujiamma shenanigans even stronger, or can help you hit the insane-dodge characters like the DLC dude if you want to 1HKO him at level 1 for a meme.

    4:30 Just a little thing to add:
    Spell Absorption works multiplicative, not additive. So 50 + 25 provides 62,5% effective Absorption, not 75%. That means that you cant reach 100 by multiple smaller enchants and would have to get a 100 Spell Absorption in a single effect.
    Still, 62,5% will get you far imo. Just be aware of the diminishing returns

      Thanx but are you sure? Its been alone time but before, not this play threw, i did the enchant thing and had total of 100 over like 6-7 items i think and never got hit will spells.

      @@bigdaddykarvix43so the reason if u had a bunch of stacked sources u always absorbed is becuase if u had 6-7 sources u had 6-7 different roll checks where u could absorb the spell

      Ok thanx but does it group up sources like enchant types, one for ones you do and others for items with it on and for char and others.
      Cuz you wouldn't a high absorb value with +2% on 8 items kinda thing. 2% 8 times is still very low odds even if it makes a check vs 75% in their.
      Thats how i would do it so all special items have their own check so combining all the most powerful won't give you 100% but still make enchanting it yourself viable.

      @@bigdaddykarvix43 Each buff on the character counts separately, and causes separate check, whenever its multiple enchants, multiple potions etc., which mathematically makes it works multiplicatively but technically it is separate checks, and IIRC the order of application matters (whenever you do checks for spell absorb or magicka resistances first).

    This is an easy one. Levitate on shoes. Water walking on another pair of shoes. Water breathing maybe on a ring...or better yet a potion with an insanely long duration (let's say 1 day/86,400 seconds).

    Can you put a constant levitate effect on an item and then use enchants and spells to beef up your speed?

      Not sure, it was to much work to get speeds fast enough and up/down was slower. I think you would have to go the potion + enchant to make potion better, repeat alot so your in the 10,000's to have a real impact and it would be a potion effect, I forget the exact way but remember it was less then perfect and time consuming.
      You can always try, like i'd go grab all the mats you need while running around using trainers and buy/selling stocks to get everything you need and make money thing. Just add extra trips to buy herbs in cycle... If you do that raise skills thing to get +5's on level ups, cuz thats what i'd end up doing, train a main skill up ten and other up ten level 2 +5's and 1 for luck i think, repeat the run to trainers buying restocked goods each time.

    duno if you said this before, but summon skeletal minion summons a skeleton(yes, hard to belive, but its true). the thing is, skeletons are the best petty soulgem monster.
    meaning, you can fill a petty soul gem by simply summoning a skeleton, casting soul trap on it, and either killing it yourself, or summoning something stronger to kill it for you(or any other way you can find to kill it).

      ya i think i said you can buy summon spells, unlimited using merchant trick and use golden saint to get best souls.

    how do you even get some of those enchantments on, the enchant power lvl on those items would let you craft that would they?

      Depends on the quality of items and type, like rings have higher value then a belt and armor is low all around. But ya each item has its enchant number it can hold and that's what games uses to determine how much of a enchant you can put on it.
      With out a more specific question i don't know what your looking for, but everything in vid was done with stuff i could find in first few hours of game and do without any mods or glitches or anything like that. Also its just a basic guide line to what enchantments would have a good impact in general and as a remainder for those many people who come back to game once in a blue moon to play again and forget what the good enchantment sets ups were, like me.

    Alternatively get a golden saint, an exquisite ring, and put all of those effects to happen at the same time (maybe besides levitate and of course teleport) but now I want to tinker with a one ring Swiss Army knife that gives me telekinesis, chameleon, water breathing, water walking, and casts soul trap on one item for one second. For only 0.1 inventory weight!

      Their are a ton of alternatives. Put speed, athletics, jump on it at max value fore 2 sec.

    Can't say I recommend the whole constant effect 1 to x type of enchants. You'll spend way too much time equipping/unequipping gear which is hardly riveting gameplay for a few extra stat points

      Depends on what enchant, i hardly every swap around i just use absorb magic effect cuz you can get close to 100% and never worry about magic attacks. Its whats breaks the game and makes it too easy.

    I didn't see it anywhere in the other comments. Slowfall 1 pt constant effect prevents all fall damage. Goes great with your jump ring.
    I have pants that are 1 pt Slow fall and 5pts restore fatigue.

      Ya nice add.. So many little things to add, but slow fall slows you down too i found.. i think its been awhile or using jump ring again acts like a slow fall.

      @@bigdaddykarvix43 Slow fall in a high percentage will slow you down. Slowfall 1pt isn't noticable for me, especially if I'm using boots of Blinding Speed.

      Something I do when starting a new play through is to go to the Balmora clothier and buy the exquisite ring, and enchant it with constant Slowfall 1pt, Jump 1to5 pts, Water Walking.
      It is so nice to explore with this thing on, you would not believe.

      Ya i bet, prob more fun them just spending time exploiting vendors to get supper rich and just buy toms of powerfully scrolls and stuff then do the min/max lvl up stuff and enchanting stuff.

    They need to remaster this game, and keep everything the same, but have the funny npcs from oblivion, i love this game too much its just so good.

      Ya they need to remaster/redo all of them in same format and make a box set, but i think closer to a dagger fall style vs anything newer so it has some depth and its not single overpower focus.

    Try Feather, Fortify Acrobatics, and Jump.
    Become speed.

      @@bigdaddykarvix43 That's totally fine. I do that some times and just use Intervention to get around xD
      On an attribute and skill-capped server, I'm using two amulets. One with 100 Feather and 2-300 Acrobatics for 4 seconds. And the other with 100 Feather, 600 Acrobatics, and 100 Jump for 1 sec.
      The first one is nice for shorter jumps. Like from Molag Mar to the silt strider, or between city roof tops. Or just surviving the fall.
      Using both to jump is slightly too much, unless I actually have to cross a third of the map. It can be more balanced when carrying a lot of weight.
      I mostly use the 1 sec cast version alone to get around. It could be slightly weaker, but I like the view. Highly recommended.
      Since the server is capped at 1100 Acrobatics, I made a series of spells which help me achieve that magnitude, plus some few hundreds Jump magnitude. That was enough to jump the entire diagonal distance of the map, by a few factors.
      What I found interesting, is how when using Recall before the jump velocity wears down, the player can reach extremely fast forward momentum.

      Hmm never tried recall with jumping.. But i found after a while the nice fun fast speeds like that make it take longer to find the dungeons i needed to get to for quests.

    12:41 just be very cautious with fortify health...and save before you drink it (it can act like a death sentence spell).

      At 13:30 you can see the ring with the spells on it. 5-6/8 are 100dam per sec for 10 sec, max aoe.

    Resist paralysis is a good enchantment for squeezing in that 1%

      I don't remember anything that did paralyze, maybe it was just always resisted.

      IDK Some spell are diff if same spells then could be cuz i don't wait for animation to finish i just smash button.. Cast spells take time but on items it doesn't.. Could be diff version, I'm On PC for this, if your on Xbox its diff..
      So I'd really need more info on your circumstances to try and help you, cuz as you can see their can be many things or nothing that might effect it.

      You have the Morrowind Code Patch option enabled to force casting animations on enchanted items, base Morrowind has instant use enchanted items.

      O ya, 1 of those options, i never touch or look at. I always just leave what ever i can to original setting for most games.

      The icon is sitting their on my desktop looking at me now lol. I forget i think i tried it but it lacked depth and goals. I'll look again but atm I'm doing Surviving the Aftermath DLC/updates, so i have to start new game from scratch and its long.

      @bigdaddykarvix43 it's had a big update the last few months. But yes you are right as far as goals go you make your own. I don't know if you prefer modded games or vanilla but Starsector really shines with mods like Nexerlin. It's carries the same curse as Bethesda games though lol once you put mods on it you'll never want to go back to vanilla. Also I like your content so thanks for replying and if you have any mod questions on starsector I'd be happy to help

      Hey thanx.
      As for mods I'm of 2 minds. Once they are up and working then their great, but prob is finding ones that do work cuz lots are buggy and crash game, and I'm not very good at doing that hole process. Also to many are basically outright cheats with the advantages they give. So pro's and con's for using them. The other point is more simple, "If a game needs a mod, then the game is flawed." I really don't want to support any game that has mods that are needed for better interface and menu's and quality of life stuff. So companies like Bethesda who make games that need it and do it on purpose and so they make community do all the work just piss me off. So when i see a game that says its 'Mod friendly" Then to me and my jaded opinion it just means, "We slapped this game together with no thought and cheap as possible so you guys can make it better for us" So to me its a dick move. These days All Bethesda does is spend all their time on flashy graphics and effects and dumps a pile a crap on the table expecting the masses to eat it up. Fallout online comes to mind.
      Sorry, i could go on forever cuz i played WoW for years and Mods where a must and most where so scripted that they played the game for you and most people who used them thought they were good. Diff type of mod i know. But like the main Morrowind mods that added all those nice extended skills, they just are not balanced right and end up making a easy game easier and ruin the experience in the long run. See i'll stop now lol.. U opened up that can of worms :P
