Los 400 w de un BV135 es simplemente una quimera, al igual que los 200 del BV131. He tenido un BV131 y con 120w ibas que chutabas. Actualmente tengo un BV135 y no saca más de 240w con una buena excitación de entrada. Así que "cóntallo a outro"
If you look inside the power meter, check to see if there is any metallic screening behind the plastic meter body. The last time I checked one it was leaking RF straight through the meter from the RF pickup circuitry in the back of the box. That should be in an RF proofed, screened metal box.

I don´t want to make you dissapointed but you never can get more than about maxumum 200-250w on ssb whit EL 509 tubes in the theory or a pari of russian tubes whit this amp. I have a BV 135 here in my shack for the last 4 years and I like the AMP, according to my Heathkit HM 102 and my Zetagi 202 swr/PWR bridge i get about 180-200w whit 30 watts input from my kenwood HF radio.
The EL509 is a handily cheap valve, however even Zetagi with their vivid imagination only reckon 200w carrier from this amplifier. The anode dissipation of these valves is just 35w each, I bet that rating gets exceeded by a good margin even at 200w output.

There is some heavy duty wire on the back of the linear pcb that is not standard to the BV135 did you do this yourself for some reason? regards 73 Phil

im sure you have the normal bv 131 with one lamp...he has 2 lamps,...my bv 131 pushes 100 watts with 6watts input,with 10 watts input maybe a hair more,didn t check on ssb yet,mine has one el 509 lamp (i use a dummy load )
salve a tutti devo sostituire le valvole sul mio bv2001 ma non trovo piu le el509 ho visto le 6p45s ma non so la resa cosa mi consigliate le compro o lo butto il mio finale ?????
1EL509 is 125W max power output.. so with 2 tubes you take out max 250 watts....in the best condition. So you can hope put 220 W at max. It's enough to put whistlles on AIR like you do from Turkey all days with your's zetagigi amplifier......

2x EL519 makes 220 watts to the max... if you want to have fun for a long time, let it do 175 watts, thats 80% power.. good luck.

Try it again with a dummy load and PEP meter :-)

el 509 = 80 watts x2 = 160 watts
500 Watts is impossible....pse use a dummyload for the measurement...

I get about 220watts ssb on 11 meters from my bv135s, 20 Watts input

That is a bullshit! I have an amp, with 4 pieces tube, it works perfect maximum 400-450W PEP power!

I got russia tubes. EL509/519 tubes. they put out great except hot plate. for long tube life keep the drive down!
