Excellent information for any window installation - relevant for any exterior wood application - particularly the dark color/ direct sun warning. And sealing and back priming (also good for keeping out wood eating insects). Thanks for the video.
I agree back-priming works. I don't have laboratory proof that it is the #1 factor in siding and trim installations that last, but it sure seems to beat whatever is in second place!
Brent, do you make a 100 year casement window? What do I have to do to get your 100 year window design drawings? Also, have you finished your book on classical orders of architectural? I would like to purchase that too.
Question- the way they retrofit the insulated glass, was clearly not the way to do it. I'm in Minnesota, we definitely need to do insulated glass, but I can't Stand replacing beautiful 100yr old windows with plastic pieces of crap on gorgeous old houses. How would you suggest milling existing sashes for insulated glass?

Glad it was helpful!

Haha, true!
Thanks again
Always welcome
Did restore the court house in Hardeman County? Quanha Texas?

Hi, yes on the casement. Your first child. JK. I hope to finish the book by December to the publisher. It is probably a late 2024 book. Thanks.
Hahaha; thanks!

I've thought of a few ways, but your experience and care may give me a better way!! Absolutely love the way you take care of windows, thank you!
Check out the Pilkington glass. That is what I would use if I lived in MN.
