My dad will occasionally shop on wish, everything is pretty hit or miss. One time, he got my mom a mini pepper spray that is made to look like a thing of perfume. I didn't know this, and being a completely intelligent 16 year old, went to see what scent the perfume was. I sprayed it on my hand, which I had held up near my face so I could smell the perfume. It turns out that one thing that wish does right is pepper spray. It obviously wasn't military grade, but it was enough to leave me coughing and in pain for the next hour and a half.
You'd be actually brave to eat from any plastic Chinese product, since you may bet it's not a food-grade plastic, probably the worst, cheapest and most carcinogenic plastic you can get... Enjoy your meal anyway!
I've never bought anything on wish but I've heard enough of these kinds of stories to stay clear. If I am going to buy cheap items I'd rather go to the dollar store and save on shipping and know exactly what I'm getting.
It maybe the same has wish the dollar store but at least you know when you buy chocolate from a dollar store you get chocolate and not a straw for example like you probably would from wish

@@davis3138 seems that you've never eaten a burger. the place where your fingers gets messy is not the tip that touches the top of the bun, but the middle of your fingers where the sauces drip down as you hold the burger at a 90* angle to the floor.
My adult son orders from Wish all the time and he has had some of the same experiences as you’ve had. I told him to stop wasting his money on stuff he doesn’t need anyway, especially since he’s living with me at the moment, resulting in my expenses going up. Love your videos!

Chinese sellers often send the item with company that delivers a huge sacks of mail to some address in destination country (or continent) from which they will send it individually to you. If you will try a lamp on the package to look through layers there might be surprises underneath. I learned this from decyphering mysterious Aliexpress packages that i was not able to identify (due to the seller accidentally sending me something completely else) and had to figure out somehow what its supposed to be. Like when you order markers and receive TV remote control instead etc ...

i only think i ordered a hoodie and some lock picks from wish, and they were exactly what i expected, even with the classic 25% off. The hood was just the hood with a build in scarf, and the lock picks were sturdy and solid, no picks have bent or broken.

Jewelers would stretch gold into sheets and put a piece of common metal in between 2 sheets of gold. (So, gold .. filled with common metal ... like a sandwich. There is more gold than with gold plated and it wore well. Pocket watches were gold-filled. Here's hoping the ring you got is a decent one! 💜

Reg the Burger Holder - Here in NZ , we have a famous burger joint called “ Burger Fuel “ , were they give a free holder called “ Doofus “ . It’s a holder for the oversize burgers they sell, made of thick cardboard type paper.
Every fast food hamburger place I know of wraps their sandwiches in waxed paper like the one he took off the Whopper. That wrapper is designed to hold the sandwich without getting the "your way" fixing all over your hands and clothes.

I bought my mother and I each a Stranger Things hoodie from wish when I first heard about the site and the show had just come out. I knew it was a knock off, so I wasn't expecting anything more than a cheap screen print hoodie. I wear an American small or medium, so I ordered Xtra large and large. One of my classmates got a my hero academia hoodie with 2 characters and some odd wolves... Obviously terrible quality. Even a few years back, I got a similarly crappy my hero academia hoodie for a costume of a character (the irony), and it was same thing. Crappy material, and paper thin. In NZ there is a burger chain called Burger Fuel and they do higher end burgers (think $15 a burger) and they come with cardboard holders and they're actually amazingly useful. The amount of fillings they give you makes it hard to hold it but the holder keeps it all together.
My favorite thing from wish are those cheap ass rainbow swords that say they’re made from titanium or some big deal metal. It was only like 20$ so I said screw it at the most I’ll get a nice piece of decorative aluminum to put up on the wall but they sent like a genuine steel blade with a pretty nice sharp edge. It’s not something you’d give a knight to go crusading with but just as a fun toy to hack at some weeds or books with, it’s pretty nice for 20$
I used Wish once several years ago. I was nearing the end of my last year of high school. Fidget spinners and cubes were all the rage at the time, and I'd gotten some early graduation gift cards. "Hey, Wish looks pretty affordable," said my broke self with no money to aside from gift cards. So I bought what looked to be an anodized rainbow titanium fidget spinner, along with some magnets. Magnets are always fun to play with, and they looked to be a decent size. So the items arrived almost two months later. The fidget spinner spun fine. It was a two-blader. I carried it around in my pocket for a few days, and noticed it wasn't actual rainbow metal, just had a bad paintjob. After two weeks all the color had rubbed away LOL. The magnets were pure disappointment. They were TINY. Absolutely miniscule. I could probably have crammed individual little cylinders under my finger nail. So I just threw those in the trash, they were beyond impractical. So that's my experience with Wish, never have used it since. A friend of mine had tried buying some shoes off of wish back in the highschool days. They didn't arrive with laces, and fell apart after a month LMAO
The way I deal with misrepresented goods, is prior to ordering, I send a message to the seller, confirming that, regardless of the option when ordering, the option I want is what is represented. I would therefore be confirming that I want Type A. Please confirm that you understand that, and that if the only option is type B when ordering, I am expecting Type A to be delivered. Please confirm that you understand the order that I will be expecting. No confirmation, no order.That puts the ball firmly in the seller's ballpark.
I would be careful with some of these, especially when they give small joke items for free like the ring. They will most likely sell your address away as lists of proper legit addresses can bring a lot of money, so in the end you are kinda paying with your information. Expect chinese sellers to use your info to place orders on their own products and get sent random stuff, so they can write "confirmed purchase"-marked reviews in your name on places such as amazon. Or in the worst case, your info gets sold to scammers and they will use your info to open accounts.
I did a few of the lottery but never won them. I did get the refund. I’ve had a couple of things that had to be returned, clothing. And, a late package was replaced. I haven’t bought much lately, and I stayed in the really cheap items. What I discovered was that a lot of the shipping isn’t refunded, in general and there’s where the profit has to be.
My first three Wish purchases went perfectly. My last three, they sent me the wrong item. I ordered the exact same thing all six times. 4 times from the same seller. Baffling.

I used to order from them too. I made the same mistake ordering the same wrenches to but I did see you had to go down the list where there was a drop down menu to choose what wrench size you wanted or the whole kit . Now there is Temu out there and they do the same thing in their adds. Just have to read everything.

I bought my mother and I each a Stranger Things hoodie from wish when I first heard about the site and the show had just come out. I knew it was a knock off, so I wasn't expecting anything more than a cheap screen print hoodie. I wear an American small or medium, so I ordered Xtra large and large. They were toddler sized and made of acrylic or something shiny and plastic-like. And I'm not saying they were American toddler size. They were Chinese toddler size. One of my classmates got a my hero academia hoodie with 2 characters and some odd wolves... Obviously terrible quality. Even a few years back, I got a similarly crappy my hero academia hoodie for a costume of a character (the irony), and it was same thing. Crappy material, and paper thin. They probably put newspapers in it to thicken the layers. I've also seen a lot of those crappy plastic shiny material stuff, and it just screams cheap.

Free things at wish are also a scam. They sell it for free and charge you 2$ for shipping. But you can buy the same item for 1$ product + 1$ shipping.

This is what makes me so mad about wish and Alli express. They get you in with a low dollar item price but then when you click into it that’s not what it really is at all. I can’t believe they get away with these practices.

The biggest thing you need to keep an eye on is the shipping costs. If I remember correctly there is an agreement between China and Canada and there is no cost to actually ship

In NZ there is a burger chain called Burger Fuel and they do higher end burgers (think $15 a burger) and they come with cardboard holders and they're actually amazingly useful. The amount of fillings they give you makes it hard to hold it but the holder keeps it all together.

My favorite thing from wish are those cheap ass rainbow swords that say they’re made from titanium or some big deal metal. It was only like 20$ so I said screw it at the most I’ll get a nice piece of decorative aluminum to put up on the wall but they sent like a genuine steel blade with a pretty nice sharp edge. It’s not something you’d give a knight to go crusading with but just as a fun toy to hack at some weeds or books with, it’s pretty nice for 20$

I used Wish once several years ago. I was nearing the end of my last year of high school. Fidget spinners and cubes were all the rage at the time, and I'd gotten some early graduation gift cards.
"Hey, Wish looks pretty affordable," said my broke self with no money to aside from gift cards. So I bought what looked to be an anodized rainbow titanium fidget spinner, along with some magnets. Magnets are always fun to play with, and they looked to be a decent size.
So the items arrived almost two months later. The fidget spinner spun fine. It was a two-blader. I carried it around in my pocket for a few days, and noticed it wasn't actual rainbow metal, just had a bad paintjob. After two weeks all the color had rubbed away LOL.
The magnets were pure disappointment. They were TINY. Absolutely miniscule. I could probably have crammed individual little cylinders under my finger nail. So I just threw those in the trash, they were beyond impractical.
So that's my experience with Wish, never have used it since. A friend of mine had tried buying some shoes off of wish back in the highschool days. They didn't arrive with laces, and fell apart after a month LMAO

The way I deal with misrepresented goods, is prior to ordering, I send a message to the seller, confirming that, regardless of the option when ordering, the option I want is what is represented. I would therefore be confirming that I want Type A. Please confirm that you understand that, and that if the only option is type B when ordering, I am expecting Type A to be delivered. Please confirm that you understand the order that I will be expecting. No confirmation, no order.That puts the ball firmly in the seller's ballpark.

I would be careful with some of these, especially when they give small joke items for free like the ring. They will most likely sell your address away as lists of proper legit addresses can bring a lot of money, so in the end you are kinda paying with your information.
Expect chinese sellers to use your info to place orders on their own products and get sent random stuff, so they can write "confirmed purchase"-marked reviews in your name on places such as amazon. Or in the worst case, your info gets sold to scammers and they will use your info to open accounts.

I did a few of the lottery but never won them. I did get the refund.
I’ve had a couple of things that had to be returned, clothing. And, a late package was replaced. I haven’t bought much lately, and I stayed in the really cheap items. What I discovered was that a lot of the shipping isn’t refunded, in general and there’s where the profit has to be.
My first three Wish purchases went perfectly. My last three, they sent me the wrong item.
I ordered the exact same thing all six times. 4 times from the same seller.
Baffling.
