Then they say she remembered being pulled to the ground as she saw Lori’s body thrown into the air. Again, it does not say her friend pulled her to the ground, it just says she was walking ahead of her, it doesn’t even say she was directly ahead of her. well i have seen a comment from a person that was in coma for 1 month, and it doesnt seem to be perceived as a nightmare (and that the person is aware they cant move or speak). though someone in coma for 20 years might be a completely different story, who knows. sadly, it's not like it seems that a person whos been in coma for 20 years becomes capable of really articulating complex communication to the level of explaining it to this point. perhaps the experience of people that have been in coma for less years could be more easily shared

@Yo Hann ONLY if that's what Sarah would've wanted.
Different people, different choices.
But if that's what YOU would want, if you were in a coma, be sure your friends and family know.
I've been in a coma (although only for a little while, not for years) and I was 18 at the time, so I hadn't discussed that possibility with anyone, and everyone just had to make that choice for me.
Whatever people want in this situation, their family/friends can only guess -- unless they've talked about such an eventuality. 🤷🏾♀️
@Yo Hann Life support and coma are 2 different things. Some people in a coma do not require life support and others only need it for a short period of time. They don't keep people alive for 20 years on life support. The story did not mention life support.

It’s not the fact that she BELIEVES she’s a teen. She IS a teen. Her mind is stuck in a childlike state
Having a compromised mental state does not change reality. She is not biologically a teenager. You are not what you identify as - or, as is the case with this girl, what your mind was paused as.
God-Emperor of NPCkind I mean, technically she was an adult. But her mind was still that of a teen. She learned no new information nor did she do anything new for 2 decades. While biologically and legally she was an adult, she might as well be a teen since she has no experiences besides of being a teen and her life before that. Provided, she probably understood the situation at some point over the 11 years after she woke up from the coma and accepted she was an adult but I made my point even if it was shitty and rambling.

Everyone listen: When someone is in a coma, do NOT pretend like they are not aware of what is going on around them. Read to them everyday. Tell them what is going on in the world, What the DATE is , the year, who the president is. They can still hear you. Tell them about the local and global news. The changes to the family. Who is moving, getting married, having babies, who dies, who changes jobs, graduates, everything. Celebrate their birthday and holidays. I've heard of cases where people do this and when the patient comes out of the coma they are not shocked at the passage of time, they KNOW what is going on because they were listening the entire time.
Just because they are not moving or speaking does not mean they are not still IN THERE.
I agree with you 100!!!!
@Nicole Jessica not all people

What's even more moving is to learn that Sarah had died in 2016, and that her dad died after her in 2016 as well, followed by her mum in 2018. Looks like her parents decided to stay as long as she needed it so she wouldn't be alone, and when she finally died, they could go as well... RIP to them all and so much respect for her friend. This is pure love.
Tara Neretva Respect Mom and Dad 🥰😍🥰
Actually her dad died before her, in January 2016. Sarah passed away in May 2016.
Oh ok, thank you. But it still seems like they waited so much so they could take care of her. Maybe Sarah died as well when her father was gone, she felt it was "the time"... that's still very moving.
@@ilianole1855 indeed 😪
That just ruined my day
Very strong family. I hope she lived the rest of her life with happiness. Rip Sarah.
this is a miracle - to imagine her waking up and being able to talk is beyond believable. we wished for this for 3 years - when you have someone you love in a coma it's like a death and then you go through it all again when they do die. It's heartbreaking- I can't imagine her poor parents going to see her for 20years. It's so so sad holding their hand asking them to give you a sign.
My mom was in a coma for months and the day we went to pull her plug for lack of better words she moved and woke up. The doctors were floored. They told us she wasnt there even when she moved. They had no idea and 5 yrs later shes recovered almost fully with minimal speech problems but some atrophy.
What an incredible friend she has.
What an incredible story and what a very lucky woman 💙
I'm so glad for your mom
Sending lots of love 💞🤗
Amazing!!! Good vibes sending you/your mother's way...
Months? Really? Sensing a beating from your mother when she woke up.
bullshit
That is a great best friend she’s got.
alyssa caeytano I think she feels guilty or like it’s her mistake that’s why she has been visiting for 20years
it's more, she saved her life so she feels guilty. She has here whole life, while her friend lost hers. I'm not sure if she would of done the same for her? Don't know?
yes, true 🧚♀️🖇
@@redfrined how is it her fault?
Sarah put her body in the way of the car.
Amazing! This is TRULY a friend!!! Also I'm so happy her parents were still alive to see her wake up!!!
What a beautiful and loyal friend. Many people would have stopped visiting or caring much after a while. You can tell she loves her deeply and it's a true and beautiful friendship.
I mean, she was still a teenager. She didn't exist as a person until she woke up, so she didn't actually grow up. She just aged.
Verdigris Rex you never know what she was dreaming of
Taurus Capricorn But she’s in a coma so she can’t wake up, also what if it was Lucid?
Taurus Capricorn That’s not always true. Lucid dreams feel like real life. I get them frequently.
@Taurus Capricorn my god I wish any of that was true
You could say the same thing for people that weren't in a coma.
I just read that her dad passed in January of 2016, and she passed away in May of 2016. May they both rest in peace x
Dont tell me that :(
😢😢😢
@LordSunMan AKKTK RQZZZFF The fuck are you even talking about lmao

the fact that her personality remained in her brain for as long as it did, as if it was some sort of memory card. So insane
Her singing happy birthday was so awesome I’m so glad he got to hear it!

It's kinda implied . You know common sense?

I felt that
Speaking from someone who has been in a coma (only for one month), time literaly stops from the point of the beginning of the coma until you wake. I heard everything that went on in my room, I went to “sleep” at night and experienced normal circadian rhythms, I even dreamed while in the coma. Had it not been for my mother tellling me everyday to get out of the bed so I could come home, I don’t know if I would have made it. I had no idea I was in a coma when I was in a coma, but the “normalcy” my mother tried to create sustained me. Learning to walk and talk again after was easier because of her. Shout out to mamas
❤️ God Bless ur mother. 🙏
It was scary AFTER the fact. During, I had no idea. After I came out of it and saw all the tubes (chest tubes from 2 collapsed lungs and life support tubes) coming out of my body I was scared.
Thank you so much. That’s so kind of you to say. I appreciate that.
You both are brave. I pray God continues to bless you both.
Thank you so much. Same to you. I really appreciate that.

Why is no one talking about the unconditional love the parents shared over the last two decades. They never lost hope ♥️
My parents would have let me die!!
Monse Flores yes they did and no you don’t
It's a shame that they had to sell their home and live Ina trailer park just to pay the medical expenses.
Tbh I would want my family to pull the plug on me after a year dont want to make them broke
Genji Main2001 same
i cried when she sang “happy birthday” to her dad. poignant. she’s got awesome parents to sell everything to keep hope alive. must have been agonizing to wait and wait and wait-
Absolutely. And a lot of people are quick to judge saying, "What's the point in keeping her going if there's little to no quality of life. "I think their opinions would change if _God forbid_ this happened to one of their family members.
She did soooo good 😭🥺❤️
Sorry what? i would prefer to be dead than in such conditions...
Melodía García that’s great for you but that’s not the case in this situation... I hope your family knows to pull the plug quick..

Amazing that Sarah's friend had kept up with Lori for so many years. She is amazing. They must have been amazing friends.
i teared up. Sounds like she pulled her best friend out the way and saved her. HER SISTER FOR LIFE.
It’s like jumping 20 years into the future, imagine her seeing things like iPhones and even the way cars look...
nope . She doesn't even know thats she shits her own pants let alone what an Iphone is !
Unless if you are saying like from 2000 to 2020, then that will be a huge leap.
@MrZapparin 2005-2020 is 15 years
i'd be dissapointed tbh, not much has changed
Jumping 20 years into the future then dieing after the film
That’s literally the best friend anyone could ever have. She stuck with Sara for 20 years and never left her. Respect 👍
Amen
She did leave (but she came back)
Sarah saved her life.
this is just heartbreaking, knowing that most of her left was spent in a coma and never actually living out her adult life. this just makes me feel grateful that i'm able to feed myself, be able to walk and talk, i can't imagine how she must've felt during those 20 years, hearing people around her and never being able to reply back or talk :(
What a friend,God Bless them.
I was in an induced coma for weeks and while in the coma I had a job and bought a car and basically carried out normal day to day activities. I'm not sure when I realized it but at one moment in the coma I figured out that this couldn't be real because everything thing was hazy and dreamlike. I even considered that I was dead and this was the afterlife. When I finally awoke I was in the hospital and my left leg had amputated due to me being electrocuted. The fact that I had one leg did not bother me one bit. I was just so happy to be alive. What's interesting is that I would watch certain movies and TV shows and be like so that's where that came from while I was in my coma. I realized that the tv being on while I was in the coma actually affected what I was going through in the "coma world". I could go more into detail but I just wanted to share that experience with anyone that was interested enough to read my comment.
Yendy Vilma It like when you go to bed with the TV on and the sounds of the TV is part of your dreams. Interesting 🤔 thanks for sharing and thank God you are alive and out of coma.
Thank goodness 😅 your out of coma
Interested enough to read your comment? Girl, I’d read a book 😅
So like a shallow nap?
That’s haunting
The fact that her medical care was so expensive, her parents basically had to sell everything they've ever loved and cherished is breaks my heart. I wish that America had more affordable healthcare.
Ikr
Yeah, everything can be replaced but her
@@husky3g same with the situation with guns, and the food situation. The FDA doesn't do enough checks because companies pay them the big bucks to let them slide thats why there are so many e coli out breaks and thats why animals get tortured. The NRA also pays the government which is why they dont wanna restrict guns or put some kind of watch on the ppl with guns. thats why its so easy to get a rifle or pistol here
as long as the fda is in charge medical care will be a circus
@. Turnock That isn't necessarily true. Tell me, which countries with a reasonably priced and efficient public healthcare system allows those in comas to die? Also, American health insurance is organized crime that can only exist by denying legitimate claims. Do you understand what that means for those who are denied?
