Anyone else feeling that Ali's finally getting into the groove, after putting in all the hardwork over the past 3-4 years? I mean I've followed Ali since his 10K subs days and I've legit seen this man grow. Things are starting to make sense and I can imagine where Ali is headed in the next 3-5 years.. He's starting to feel like a solid entrepreneur a lot, these days, and I've almost forgotten about his medical identity haha.. So yeah, positive vibes all around and obviously much appreciation for this lad! Keep inspiring us :')

Cool video. I liked the laser correction assessment. Here are some notes if anyone is interested:
- Moorfields Eye Hospital is a very prestigious eye hospital in UK, known across the world.
- This part is done by an Optician/Optometrist usually:
1:16 - Ali is short-sighted and to quite a considerable degree. This is why things very close are clear and everything further is blurry (he said 'bokeh').
1:19 - Checking vision with current glasses (aided Visual Acuity)
1:25 - This is refraction (i.e. checking the prescription). In this case, we see a trail frame being used (you might be familiar with that big machine - called a phoropter). This trail frame is a Heine Oculus, which is a very high-quality trial frame.
1:31 - assessing near vision with prescription. We can also see that Ali has astigmatism (eye has a rugby ball type shape as opposed to a round football) on top of short sight.
1:40 - not entirely sure about this, but I think this is an anterior OCT; this is essentially scanning the front window of the eye or cornea to work out the thickness. Laser correction involves reshaping the cornea and it is important to ensure it is the adequate thickness.
1:42 - Topography - this machine assess the curvature of the cornea, useful to know there is no corneal ectasia (or cornea disease) which can be made A LOT worse with laser correction.
- Now, Ali is with the consultant, Dr Ramesh
1:44 - This machine is a slit lamp that acts as a microscope to look at the health of the eye. We can even see the lens of Ali's eye illuminated.
1:47 - The blue probe that is getting close to Ali's left eye (further eye in shot) is known as a Goldman tonometer. This is done to measure eye pressure. We can also see that Ali is wearing his mask inside out, if you compare this to how Dr Ramesh is wearing his mark. Remember colour/blue is on the outside.
2:06 - One comment I would make is that Ali does have a high degree of short sight, and there is a limit to high a prescription can be done for Laser correction. Also, it is important to ensure Ali's prescription is stable too.
2:11 - Ali was dilated during the appointment. This enlarges the pupil in order to provide a thorough assessment of the back of the eye (retina). One side effect is that accommodation (ability to focus up close) is paralysed for a few hours (this may have been done also during the prescription checking in order to get a more accurate result), hence complaining about blurry vision on phone and computer. This simulates what happens to our eyesight as we get older 40s-50s.
I hope this was interesting and look forward to seeing if Ali goes ahead.

1:40 something known as pentacam which measures corneal curvature hence the topograph at 1:42 also pretty sure that’s a Volk and not a Goldman if im not mistaken

Just found this channel, and i've been liking the content and day in the life kind of vlogs! More chill and less heavy content compared to the main channel. I can listen/watch while doing other stuff! Can your eyes not go back to being bad like they were before let's say you watch too mutch TV or spend alot of time on your phone or are they a permanent fix?
@@ismailakbar6449 you should ask your ophthalmologist, but as far as I know, it's unlikely that your eyes get bad again. The effects of the surgery usually are permanent.

I really prefer more self made vlogs, it turns the whole experience more personal, genuine. But that’s probably just not his style. I see it as a more documentary type of video, but idk if it “fits” here.
Just my personal opinion, doesn’t mean in any way it is bad (actually it’s pretty good). Maybe try one vlog entirely recorded by you and see how it goes.

RUclips videos of Doctors reacting to movie & TV scenes of fictional doctors from like Greys Anatomy or any movie with pivotal doctor/hospital scenes do very well and kinda go viral because the Doctors reacting to the scenes can give commentary on how accurate that portrayal is and how close to real life it is. You should try doing those I'm sure you'll have funny things to say

My eye laser surgery in 2000 lasted a good 10 years. Everything was super clear and beautiful. Too bad I didn’t really bother to take care, work requiring looking at the pc, gaming, etc. and I’m back to where I started. Lol.

honestly, I enjoy this kind of vlog vibe videos more than those educating ones... surely] they are more solidly made and high quality but I think vlogs make much more emotional engagement with the audience
of course, i am not saying we should reduce those kinds of videos I just mean vlogs also have their own value too, just like non-fiction books and fiction books, we need both of them right, and also we can learn things from both too.

*not* to be negative but if you get eye surgery does that mean you won’t wear glasses anymore? this is a *dumb* thing to say but i’ve always thought ppl who wear glasses are *so* cool!😂 when i was a little kid i always wanted them, so when i got a bit older and started having a hard time seeing far away, i was excited cuz i thought i’d *finally* get to wear glasses like the *cool kids* .

Hi Ali I know that you are a doctor but when I was at school one of my teachers said Laser Eye Surgery is one the worst decision which everyone can make . You must know that this surgery is not possible if the cornea of the eye is thin . The problem is after this surgery your cornea get thinner and if you need to do an Emergency surgery on your eye it will be impossible to do that . It was what I know and I was worry about you and we love your work so we don't want to something bad happen to you , I am not knowledgeable in this field because I am electrical engineer So you need to do more research about it .
