    One other thing that’s good about an open spacer on a dual plane is it helps even out distribution making idle tuning and mixture much easier. It’ll help mid range as well. Just a 1/2 open spacer will usually do the trick if hood clearance is an issue.

    What would happen if you add carb spacers on top of a Weiand dual quad tunnel ram on a large displacement engine, like 500ci, on a jet boat? Which style would likely be better? The open 2”, or the 4 hole?
    I need to get more height above the sides of the boat to raise the carbs, and insulate for heat, but don’t want to kill the performance! Just raise the carbs up, AND insulate for heat. Thank you!!!!!
    I think I’m about half way through your videos- because …. I LOVE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION VIDEOS!!!!!

      I would go with a 4 hole spacer if you only need height , open spacers add plenum volume. Hope this helps.

    4-hole spacers increase the signal to your carburetor in a big way. Try a 2'' tall 4-hole spacer once.

    The 8-hole spacer fits with the holes it has only 4? Or they're not compatible

    • @holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90
      @holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90  6 месяцев назад +1

      I'm not sure what your asking but a 4 barrel holley takes a 4 hole spacer. You have a total of 8 holes in the spacer but you only count the 4 large holes. Hope this helps

      @@holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90 Sorry I was referring to the bolt holes, to assemble it, which I don't know because some have more holes and the other doesn't, I didn't mean the 4 barrel, But to the spacer that has 2 holes per tip, and the other one that only has 1 hole per tip, what's the difference? Does it match?

    • @holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90
      @holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90  6 месяцев назад

      No that won't help but if you can describe when you feel the flat spot, like do you feel it when your driving under light or hard acceleration and what size carburetor and what brand. Let me know and I'll try to help.

    Great video, I have a question about the transition between the carburetor the intake and the spacer. If there are not a smooth transition can there be air loss velocity? Could that impact performance? I know that my spacers have different diameters just a little bit between the intake and the spacer. What do you suggest about that grinding them out so they match smoothness?

    • @holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90
      @holleycarbshowtosadvice40y90  2 года назад +1

      Max for best performance absolutey! I use to spend a lot of time matching and blending my intake and spacer also when you use a spacer it moves the carburetor up above the manifold further and creates plenum area and this creates a smother transition from the carb to the manifold especially at high rpms., so that is time well spent.

      A one inch open spacer can give you some top end on a performer, I'm not sure on a air gap. I've never tried it.

    If you was to have a carb adapter like that one in the right hand side couldnt you buy another one just like it and shave those lips off so in turn you would get a bigger spacer you would have to change the studs but im thinking about doing this to a 2.4l Napz carburetored motor its a 1985 Nissan 720 timing is advanced to 11° needs bigger jets im running a 38/38 weber outlaw carburetor i have a 260s mild grind cam that isnt installed yet Thanks have a good day!

      Those are wood spacers ,they are holley dominator spacers they have a different bolt pattern from a 4150 and 4160 carb unless they have the dual bolt pattern throttle plates , if you stack spacers put gaskets in between and on top and bottom. These spacers can be DIY if your good at wood working and wood is an excellent insulator.
