My cat Prince is a British Longhair with a tuxedo pattern, he looks like royalty, I address him as "Your Highness" or "my Prince".
Right now, the Prince is out on a walk in the neighbourhood. He's wearing a GPS tracker so he doesn't get lost, he's visiting the college campus about a kilometre to the East right now.
A friend of mine rescued the Prince from a cat hoarder eleven years ago. I got a call from her, and she said, "Do you think you could use a cat?" Ever since then, I have been His Highness' loyal butler.
It's a good thing I'm a night owl, because it's 2am here in Germany right now, and when the Prince returns, probably in about an hour, he'll be very hungry and demand I serve him a full portion of cat food immediately, and he won't have to wake me up because I'll still be awake. I hope he meets a furry friend or two doesn't run into any enemies along the way.
Back in the big city, he was restricted to my flat, but now that I live in a house with a huge garden on the outskirts of a small city in a rural area (actually more like a former village that was swallowed up by the growing city), with not much traffic in this particular residential area, with a farm halfway up the hill, a forest on the hilltop, and just entire streets filled with small houses and huge gardens, he can come and go as he wants, I keep the cat flap open almost all the time. When he finds it closed, however, he tends to get angry and hiss at me from under the bed. I need to be careful not to say "Tierarzt" (vet in German, literally "animal physician") before closing the cat flap, or it will be another case catching Prince in the bushes on campus and trying to make it in time for the appointment.
