If there are any citizens who weren’t able to graduate from elementary school they will be stuck forever as uneducated and won’t ever receive a higher educational status, so in order to have less uneducated citizens and prevent this from turning into a circle, the city will need to heavily invest in elementary schools.
Would love to see luxury homes on the mountains. I always imagined Riverview to be somewhere near the rocky mountains, like Denver, and a lot of these places have luxury ski resorts as well as luxury large homes along the mountain ranges overlooking the city and ski resorts.
I literally just was about to place a comment like this!!! It's look, you read my mind! I want to see something similar to Penticton, BC.(I am Canadian.) I can't add an image, though. Thinking something like Skaha Hills, has views of Skaha Lake, situated in layers up the mountain with private vineyard, add views of the city.
Yess! I commented this a ton of episodes ago but I don’t think he read the comment. This was in the early days of river view I think. That right there is an episode I would watch and rewatch ;)
I think you should try and do an actual stadium in the city, maybe just far off in the suburbs realistic to real life US where stadiums aren’t in the hearts of downtown. A massive super stadium would be a great addition to the skyline. Love this series ❤
Oh man you are so right - in fact I did not dare show you guys how the elementary school situation is looking right now. It seems there has been an influx of young people recently so there has been a shift in the demographics to a slightly younger average.
Yeah poorly educated cims are significantly more likely to find a job. There were over a thousand unfilled job positions because such a large portion of the population is completely uneducated. Its really annoying trying to find space for schools in this game though. Most of them feel like the scale is way too large for the number of students.
Make Riverview great again with more manufacturing jobs and heavy industrial units, maybe even some subsidiary or very lenient tax reliefs too. Let the smokestacks rise!!
So I seen another comment pointing it out, but uneducated people can get educated with more school stuff. Also I think we need ANOTHER public transport episode... but that is just my EU side coming out. Anyway love this city and your style of video / narration
Minor suggestion! Please add a little path through the woods for the workers of the three office buildings behind the supermarket - they'll all be going to the bakery for lunch every day and you just know there's a desire path through the woods to save time!
I think it would be interesting to just tap into district policies, particularly adding speed bumps, large truck bans in neighborhoods, and maybe a roadside parking fee in dtwn as well as other policies. Might generate a chunk of change and will improve citizen's life quality.
Yet another amazing video, I feel like the post-update fixes have forced both cities to take a lot of really rapid growth and it’s great to see them become what they have. Some ideas/projects I’d love to see in future videos: 1) You talked previously about Riverview’s downtown probably needing some densification and I think an episode dedicated towards densifying everything, starting from downtown and out, would be really great and interesting to watch (although more residential demand is probably gonna be needed first). 2) A riverwalk would be incredibly cool, if its a tenable thing to do at all in CS2. If we could build wider paths, it’d definitely be interesting. Maybe a custom, skinny pedestrian only road would do the trick, though I don’t know if it’d get any use without businesses along it. Even better opportunity to put maybe cute shops along the riverwalk too? 3) One of my favorite things about Chicago or any city is when neighborhoods feel completely different from each other and have a general vibe or aesthetic to them. Getting off the train in Chicago’s art district, Pilsen, is a rush as you’re immediately flooded with murals across the entire train station and the steps down. Maybe some specializing and heavy detailing in specific parts of town would be cool. 4) A stadium area could definitely benefit the citys top down look, and it’s been pretty popular with other CS2 RUclipsrs recently, and I’d love to see how you’d do it. 5) A full campsite with trails and state or national park, albeit not the most noticeable thing, would be a fun and very fitting addition
If the city is broadly densified it would be a good time afterward to take another look at public transit and maybe add a new tram line connecting to the others that doesn’t go through the central transfer point in downtown, to lighten the ridiculous numbers transferring or getting off there.
Awesome video, Suggestion: I would love to see more extraction in the mountains of the outskirts of Riverview It would be very cool to see some Mines carving into the mountains and it would be a challenging build, making for a very interesting episode.
What catches my eye every time I look into the harbor is the bright peer. I would make the whole thing look a bit dingier, I think that would be more realistic. But all in all, the city has turned out really well so far. I'm looking forward to the next episodes. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Did the rural farms that got eaten by expansion projects ever get rebuilt? Make some new farms on the far outskirts of the city now that core of Riverview has sprawled out over the old ones!
I really enjoy every episodes of yours. It really gives me a time for real entertainment and I appreciate your job. As Riverview has been grown to a pretty big city since its establishment, what do you think of transferring the city theme into a more green and sustainable city, a challenge like real major cities nowadays are facing. Since you have a lot of mountains maybe you can think of adding wind turbines and geothermal to generate electricity and get rid of fossil fuel or nuclear related plants to start with. Not so much people broadcasting cities skylines2 has been up for this kind of challenge but I think you will be the one that can take this challenge.
Nice city fix Infra! Kudos to Brucey and the InfoLoom: for his first coding and UI work it's super impressive (shames me every time I see it used). That odd un-zonable bit... does it have an errant singularity-style node of something there? I remember CPP had one similar with a weird single tram node. The other possibility is an _Area_ left hanging about... What to build next? Either mountain-based shale oil fields (to serve the refinery) or some sort of ski/mountain leisure resort would be my thinking.
One of the big improvements coming back to Riverview is the AMAZING jump in performance coming from the PC upgrade. It was much needed and oh boy does the game feel way smoother now.
Hey bud, so good to see Riverview back! I guess when education is fixed by American standards, unemployment is low, now it’s time to add more jobs in transportation which will also help with unemployment rate😊 A station in that densified area is definitely worth thinking of as well as some sort of rapid transit to Sterling and Burlow😅 anyways, great project, love it!
Would love to see a luxury homes development up in the mountains. Similar to homes in the Okanagan Valley (Canadian side) with tiers going up the mountain with great views of some body of water. Also needs to have a golf course going around the back of the development.

Love the series so much! Can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix the end of River Drive? That massive intersection is begging for conversion to an interchange
I bet adding more primary extraction industry to the outskirts of your city would take a big bite out of the uneducated unemployment figure, and reduce reliance on imports for extracted raw materials in turn helping your manufacturing base (and tax revenues) to grow. With mountainsides across the city covered in pine you could have a nice little forestry district or two set up, and build it out towards unlocking the paper factory etc. The less-visited southern end of your map would be a great spot for this.
I just started watching this series yesterday and I thought there would me no more Riverview updates, what a nice surprise, I'm halfway done but just wanted to come here to comment
Look how you tackle to the unemployment in this episode I feel like coming back I'm a tackle the educational for all Needs would be nice keep up the good content😊😊😊
ive never understood what a High density commercial building even is?? perhaps with the exception of a mall or something like that. maybe im jaded bc im American, but "high density" commercial typically expands outwards, not upwards. I've always thought the High density commercial ought to be medium density office
I live in Chicago. We have a lot of buildings downtown that look like the high density commercial stuff. Oftentimes when they’re on the taller side it’s because the top 3-5 floors are offices, but the rest is genuinely just a very tall vertical mall. One of them, I think it’s 6 floors, has an underground level with a couple shops that’s also a transfer between the two busiest metro lines.
Would be cool to see a mining operation far up in the mountains...trucked down to a dock/rail and processing...a mining town is a shady place to be... Could be a cool place to implement gondolas or a rickety light rail down the slops
Man. Thats a devastating bug only having 5 employees in those massive buildings. Hopefully that is fixed soon. Game looks so good, but so many little issues!
I for one really appreciate that you're playing the game and trying to work with the mechanics. While I appreciate the creators who can "paint" a perfect looking city, it's kind of underwhelming that they don't play with any constraints that would apply to a normal city. Not that the C:S2 simulation is perfect, but at least you're trying to play within the bounds of the game. It makes it more interesting. I would go so far as to say you should minimize the amount of pausing you do. I understand pausing if you're about the re-work a highway interchange or utility lines, and you don't want a major disruption. But trying to solve the unemployment/housing crisis in real time would be better than pausing and plopping down a magic new neighborhood or industrial park.
It's crazy that you have unemployment rate at 33.3 rate and i love Riverview and hopefully all these industrial, office and commercial jobs should help.
Looking good you most definitely helped out your unemployment a ton there have you thought about zoning some industrial parks either across the river from your airport which would require you to buy some more tiles or possibly the area up by the lake and the dam always enjoy your content and detailing, keep pushing out the epic videos I'll be here also you would be surprised at how many high streets there are in the US. and a question are farms employing the uneducated or no and if the city hires them would this be like buses and parks maintenance or what?

If you think about it, it kind of makes sense that the city is hired uneducated workers. Nobody really knew how to handle the dire economy. I'd say it's some nice role-playing! 😅
note-you’re highest rate of unhoused cims is in the Highly Educated category. Also, 30k of them are under-employed, so they are also cannibalizing jobs from well-educated workers. You could afford to raise residential property taxes on highly educated workers to 20% and it will help bring down both your unemployment and your rate of unhoused cims (without affecting happiness too much). 20%-30% is the red zone, which gives them more incentive to leave when they can’t find work or a home (instead of hanging out in a park somewhere).
Definitely needed more jobs, but I think a better solution to increase job opportunities for the uneducated is to just reduce the uneducated population.
To be fair you can whine about number of workers not matching the scaraper size but maybe look at your population and see how the scale is not 1 to 1 realistic. City like that would have at hundred thousand more people in it.

we need an Infrastructurist ski resort in the mountains! Been hoping for it for months!
