Rob moves second spring around and everyone watching sees the entire car shift on the lift, 7 foot off the ground.
Camera operator: "The car is moving."
Rob: Be careful you don't hurt the fuel pump doing this.
Most people remove the grinder guards but not Rob. Safety first! Except when it involves a 2500 lb car shimming around on a lift above his head.

Is there much difference between the Roadster and the Gt springs? ------ same length? ------ just a different spring rating? The GT must have a heavier rating ------ Thanks for the video ----- Hope you have a Good Easter ----- Rodney

The GT springs are different than the roadster springs to support the extra weight of the roof structure ( one extra leaf)

The assembly process looked very messy and dangerous. The car was not even resting on the arm of the lift. Nevertheless you stood below it and made it move left and right. Had that extra jack slipped (as it did previously in the video) and you would have had a major workplace accident on your hands.

I’m usually quite impressed with your approach but have to say this one looked sketchy. Far too much hammering on those u-bolt threads, just release the check strap to allow the axle to drop more and it lines up much easier. Were you aware you had jacked the spring up so much the car was off the lift arm on that corner- quite dodgy in my view.

Most of the hammering was really just getting the hard spring pad to go over the center spring bolt spacer ( it was NOT cooperating at all) not to get the u bolts through. Normally goes better that that, and to get set up to see for filming the jack wasn’t in the most optimal place, and yeah it got a bit sketchy 🙃 I was tempted to not put this one up, but with all the work on the shop lately I’m not exactly loaded up right now with good content

sort of surprised care was taken to put grease on end bolts where they run through the bushings but none for those nasty, rusted threads. also the pounding of the plate onto the ubolts! if it was my car and i was standing there, i would have said something, especially as it was clear that the holes in the plate weren't even lined up with the bolts, such that there was no way it was going on there on the first couple of tries. had to stop watching at @13:27.
