Melissa do you offer presentations at any dog show Nationals? am looking for person that teaches front assembly, movement etc in plain english. For show dog owners/breeders to learn how to see/feel good anatomy and understand how that coinsides with correct movement.
That's not a fair comment, considering how much you can tell this women cares for dogs, based on her actual seminar. And Doberman's ears and tails have been cropped for centuries. It started as a tactic to keep wild animals from grabbing onto the dogs while hunting. And it continued to today. I think these people genuinely care about animals or wouldn't be there, you know? Yes it's cruel and sad but bash the owner not the speaker Lol!
I know that this is a 4 year old comment but I would also like to add that it is quite common to adopt a Doberman with already cropped tail and ears too.
Just for your information, whatever the reason most dog owners use to chop off the tail, this will leave the dog unbalanced. They use their tails for balance. Please don’t chop off tails of puppies 😭
a beautiful specimen? shouldnt that include a whole tail and natural ears? only people who see animals as property only and not live creatures would consider this to be a good example what with all its invasive "modifications". Awful!!!!
Nayelli Herrera Really? I will do my research in due time, but I think they do it because they can, and have been done for centuries. Also, opinions are not facts, jsyk!
@@nay777 Exactly. there's just too many 'karens' in today's world. my friend had to dock his dobermans tail that got caught on tall grass growing along side a lake as he ran full speed after some ducks and ripped the skin off half his tail and broke it in two different places. had his tail been docked when he was a puppy none of that would of happened. and as for cropping i heard it helps prevent ear infection and those weird blood clot things dogs ears can get when they shake their head too much
I somewhat doubt the necessity of such thing also but I have a suspicion that if it were for purely anthropocentric motives than it would also be done to other dogs. Keep in mind that a doberman is a breed, and like all breeds of dog they descended from wolves, their physical structure was developed in the context of domestication, not for the context of the wild, so it at times has traits that are not beneficial for the animal because human breeding is itself anthropogenic and not based on adaptive traits. Think about how a pug or a dachshund would never exist in the wild naturally, they wouldn't evolve because the selection pressures wouldn't allow it, same with doberman and many other domestic breeds. Keep in mind that breeds are essentially human UN-natural selection stacked upon a foundation of natures natural selection that made basal genus Canis. Humans screw up.
I'm so thankful for this being uploaded. As someone who's working on a dog's leg prosthetic design, this is the best reference so far.
This channel is all about grooming. I’m looking for dog anatomy channels, but having a hard time finding them. I still subscribed 👍
There is no video better than this one to explain canine structure.
Best anatomy video I’ve ever seen
This is moreso rudimentary physiology than anatomy.

That's not where the cervical vertebrae are located, though...

Uhm... so do they move? Lol
What?
I wonder what the dog was thinking when they did that to him...
Dogs can’t reason. As you can see, the dog’s owner was keeping him occupied.

Ear cropping and tail docking has been done for centuries, comes with tons of benefits. Please do your research !
