  • In the archaeological surveys conducted in the Golan region during the past decades, over two hundred settlement sites from the Mishna and Talmudic periods, that is from the 2nd to the 5th centuries were located, and in dozens of them the remains of Jewish public buildings such as synagogues and Torah learning schools were discovered, which indicates the existence of many Jewish communities in that period in this area.
    So far, over 30 synagogues have been found in the Golan in a dense settlement layout, indicating an established Jewish settlement that survived in the Golan throughout the different periods. One of them is Ein Nashut.
