@@josebautista4311 thanks for getting back to me. My tracking number started with”BL” and its not recognized by any delivery carrier not usps or ups etc. So Im concerned I got burned.
Hey man, I hope you are well. You asked me if I could provide some feedback once I received my Swift belt drive. So first of all delivery to the U.K. took 28 days. Tracking info only activated two days before delivery once it had gone through U.K. customs. The remote I received was unbranded (not an issue just something I noticed) the screen scratched up and already showed 32miles of travel when I received it (Lycaon said the 32mile of travel was from a battery test they do at the factory). My motors where scratched and they sound horrible, they also stall, they need to be rebuilt so Lycaon said they would send me new motors. Also the motor mounts are so badly damaged and deformed from installation with electric power tools that it’s not possible to adjust belt tension/position of the motors (I still have the pictures and videos I sent to Lycaon if you want to see them). Lycaon have said they will send me new motor mounts. The ESC case also has a crack in it from over tightening with power tools, and so does the deck were the ESC case meets the deck,…Lycaon have offered no solution for these issues. All but one wheel is using Abec 11 bearings with built in spacers, but one front wheel is installed with abec9 bearings and a separate spacer so does not spin very well compared to the other wheels causing wobbles even at very low speeds. There was no spare bearings included with the board. Lycaon have said they’ll send me new bearings but they can’t do abec11 with built in spacers (out of stock) so I will have to change all other wheels to abec 9 and separate spacer,…even though the one wheel that has that setup hardly spins. On their site it says abec11 built in spacers pre installed. Two wheels are slightly misshaped,…Lycaon have said they’ll send me two new wheels to sort the issue. Unfortunately though, Lycaon have been saying they are going to send me all of those items,… but six weeks later they haven’t even dispatched them yet. I’ve had over 40 emails with them and every week they promise it will be sent this week, but like I said over six weeks later,… they still haven’t even sent the items out yet! The problems with the board are so bad I’ve only ridden 2miles to test it out, and it was awful. I’m seriously thinking about just sending the board back and asking for my £600 back through PayPal if they don’t dispatch the parts in the next couple of weeks. On Tuesday next week it will be seven weeks since they first said they would send me replacement parts. Im a bit unhappy as I still can’t ride the board. I’ll update you if the parts actually show up. All the very best to you,… keep up the great content!
Oh wow I am sorry about this. Hopefully Lycaon will take care of you. Sounds like a new board may be the best option. Hopefully they just replace it. Ride safe.
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent tbh if they don’t send the parts in the next week or two I’m probably going to have to insist on a refund or replacement board. It’s getting silly now they just keep insisting they will send the parts each week. I’ll let you know when I’m sorted and then I can hopefully finally ride It properly and give some better feedback. All the best, thanks for all the great content, stay safe!
Update: after receiving over £220 in parts I’m much happier and finally have a fully functional board. They even offered to reimburse me for bearings and resin I brought out of my own pocket. Just a shame it took so long (3months) to get it sorted but all the parts were shipped from China to U.K. and said they had stocking issues so I guess that’s why,…even though they advertise that they have an E.U distribution Center. Unfortunately the weather has been bad for the last week or so and I haven’t been able to ride it yet, but I’ll give an update after I’ve been able to ride it for a couple of weeks. All the very best!
Excellent review as always! 😁 Since you review many backfire boards do you know if the backfire 96mm wheels and sleeves they sell on their website for G3 will work with these motors?
Nice review! Those teeth! I'm trying to decide between the Swift Belt version and the Backfire Zealot S for my first board. As you've reviewed them both I'd appreciate your thoughts. I'm a sucker for comfort so I'm thinking about putting the Lycaon or Meepo airless rubber wheels.
I like them both. Lycoan has a little more range but deck is stiff. Zealot has more comfort. I also like the lights on the Zealot. Backfire also has great rep with customer service. If you decide on the Zealot consider using my backfire link to support.
I can't decide between these two boards; "Lycaon Swift (8 month warranty)" & "Backfire Zealot S (24 month warranty)" I live in AZ and ride on pavement that reaches over 200° F in the summer. It's absolutely brutal on boards... In fact I rode my NEW Lycaon GR this summer for two weeks (200 miles) and the battery failed completely. I'm guessing that I will have issues with both boards because of the horrific conditions I ride in. If I'm spending that kind of money on a board 1000$+ after upgrades I need it for at least two seasons worry free. What would you recommend in my situation?
Both are solid. I personally like the flex on the Zealot. Really helps with ride comfort. If you decide on the Zealot consider using my Backfire link to support my content.
@@MrPhillipsTheChangeAgent I was thinking between the Zealot and the Swift. I think I like a more stiff board for more stability at higher speed. The range is 25% more on the swift. Looking to commute 12 to 16 miles and I am a heavy rider at 225lbs and add gear of around 5 to 10 lbs at times. Would you suggest the zealot still?
Good question. Both are fast. I only have the hub motor system on the Swift. So can’t do a direct comparison. I think the major deciding factor is if a person prefers deck with flex or no flex. Heavier riders 240 and up may want the Swift because deck is stiff. Tried to keep answer short.
Depends on what you looking for Swift has more range higher to speed more torque. Exway looks a little more refined. Personally I am a spec guy. As a heavier rider I need more performance.
Jeeze this seems like a paid advertisement lol. I just bought two of these boards but I think it’s pretty apparent they paid you or gave you a board to give them a good review
Thanks for your perspective. I only have one Lycaon board which is this one and the build quality seems good. So I really can’t comment too much more than that. 🤟🤟
To my knowledge, they did have a batch of the oldest model-the GR board having battery problem in the mid 2020. The later model TRX and Swift seem to be fine.
Looks like my Swift battery or bms failed at 200 miles. When I messaged lycaon they mailed me two more batteries, I don't know why other than perhaps they have a issue. The board would suddenly and dangerously disconnect and show no battery miles from home causing me to find a ride or walk. Hopefully noone else has this problem.
