I recently did a 3000 mile road trip with my cx9 and yes, its super smooth, quiet, hauls ass and is relatively efficient as well. Light on its feet and agile like a giant swan merged with a hummingbird. It’s actually perfect for a small family of four.
Mazda a highly underrated car!
More people should own one!
Zoom Zoom!
You’re the only reviewer on RUclips I could find taking the CX-9 through the corners like that. No doubt you doing that influenced me to buy it. Thank you!!! Definitely the SUV for the enthusiast.
Garage Science Sarah glasses back! Yay 🤓
Mazda is killing it with their design language 🤙
As a new fan, first, thank you for your service. Second, your reviews are the best. Your wit and charm are infectious. Keep up all the good work over there. Thanks for being you. It's truly refreshing to see you rock like a boss.
Yes I agree there should be a standard for fuel octane. Nice review. I really like Mazdas. I had a 2006 Mazda 3. No major problems. Had it for 12 years. It was getting rusty, but still ran great. Now I have a 2016 CX5.
Pump up the jam, pump it up. While you feet are stompin'. And the jam is pumpin'. Look at here the crowd is jumpin'
BELGIUM!!!!
I've got a CX-5 with the same 2.5T engine.... it's fun!!
Sarah, you’re such a goofball! That’s why I ❤️ your reviews.
I simply LOVE your videos. Informative, funny, and no fluff. Keep up the great work. Subscribed!
Hello Abandoned Warehouse Sarah. 👋🏻
You get extra points for mentioning original Mario Brothers King Koopa and the original NES sound effects. 👍🏻
I worked on one of these recently as the owner hit a kangaroo. I give it full points that the Reo Bar, the radiator & sensor module behind the grill badge didn't get any damage. The downside is that the front bar has a ton & I mean a ton of screws, clips & trim pieces that takes time to pull apart. The driver side headlight was AUD$4000 & we had to wait 4 weeks for it to come from Japan. There are so many pieces to the front bar that defies why they couldn't have simplified it for repairs. All up over AUD$8500 to repair.
So what did you think? Overall.
Enjoyed the review. If I ever bought a mid size SUV for myself (wife already has an XC60), it would likely be this one. Regarding the US fuel octane, keep giving us the option, both with available fuel and engines like this that can take advantage of the better fuel, but also drink the cheap stuff if you prefer.
So glad I subscribed to this channel a couple weeks ago. Truly original content from an informed and skillful reviewer. If you're reading this comment Sarah, thank you for all your hard work. (one small note: I think the hashtags for this specific video are wrong lol)
"It's like a fish" - - - yer Awesome, great channel, wonderful edit, lookin forward to next video.
Mazda always delivers solid vehicles and this is pretty typical. Ford, Chevy and Dodge equivalents feel cheap compared to their Mazda counterparts. That said, I think a vehicle the size of a CX9, and the Signature in particular, deserves a turbo six to make it stand out from their other cross-overs. As usual, a great review, Sarah.
Your humor is spot on - keep doing what you like!
The thing I really like about the CX-9 is that it's big but not huge. It's not a ridiculously huge beast that's a bitch to park, it's big enough to be roomy but still economical. The tech features on all Mazdas are fantastic.
As Always, great humor, great review and Fire sense of humor. Thank you for being you.
NIce ride! Love our CX-5! Thanks for reviewing this one Sarah! Yes we need better grades of fuels!
Another great review, Sarah. I'm glad that you took your penguins out for the ride with you and that you belted them in, for safety. Thanks for the garage science regarding the torque converter in this Mazda. One of the best cars I ever owned was a Mazda, so I like the brand. I agree with you, that the oil companies should make 93 octane fuel available everywhere. I have two cars that require 93 and adding octane booster to get to 93 is a pain. Make sure you get your name on the list to review a C-8 Corvette. I'd like to see that video. As always, keep up the great work.
I love your sense of humor! The more and more I watch your videos, the more I fall in infatuation with you! You brighten my day with your videos and witty humor! Thank you very much!!!!
YES! we need to increase the octane of our fuel. modern engines run so leanly to achieve better fuel economy that pre-ignition will be a growing problem as current cars age and develop carbon build-up, increasing destination!
Nice review! I'm definitely a lighting nerd as well. I do enjoy seeing you point out all of the lighting elements. If I'm looking at a new car, that's the first thing I scrutinize.
I like my 1600$ minivan. 2001 Chrysler Town and Country 250000miles still running strong.
Your new vehicle reviews are actually and honestly the only ones I truly care about on RUclips AND take seriously. The Beans and Cookies scores are the best.
"turbo charged mommy missile"
Best quote of the week right there LOL
Same thing I call my meat whistle.
Yes, we DEFINITELY need better fuel, especially here in AZ! We don't even get 93... we get 90.5 rounded UP to 91! (As Sarah already knows)
Best quote: “...That’s top shelf journalism right there.” 😂😂
Thank God. Got my SnT Sunday night video, so I can face another week! I’m not in the market for one of these 7-passenger SUV/crossovers, but if I was... I would strongly consider this one. Sort of a cross between elegant beauty and sporty with that drivetrain. Thank you, Sarah.
Out of all the abandoned warehouse Sarah's, yes you are my favorite .
Thanks again
Watching these is so much fun for me -- you are great.
"Mommy Missle"...you should trademark that, Sarah! :) Loved that your mention about the difference in performance if you put less than 93 octane gas in it, too (love seeing you as Garage Science Sarah with those glasses, by the way).
I had a 2015 Ford Fusion with the 2.0 Ecoboost. It also had increased performance on premium fuel. I could tell a difference between regular and premium fuels. I decided to put premium at every fill-up. My tailpipes would accumulate a lot of black soot on the tailpipes when using regular fuel, however, when I used premium fuel the tailpipes stayed much cleaner. Very interesting!
You looked like you had a lot of fun! Be safe, stay safe!
I think this is the first time I've seen you in a family SUV! Great job!
My wife and I have owned 2 Grand Caravans in our lives, great for when the kids are growing up, once they're a certain age, GONE.
We traded the last one for a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we immediately felt cool again, not that we were cool to begin with, but whatever.😁
Happy Sunday Sarah, stay excellent.
Vroom vroom, Mazda CX30 in the garage, WE love it!
i've done a lot of research into family mid size SUVs. the bottom line is, if you want cargo space, go with the pilot. if you can deal with a compromised cargo space and enjoy the concept of driving cars, go with the cx9.
Your car reviews are by far the most creative (and humorous 😃)on RUclips! 😊❤️
My bro in law has a 2017 cx5. Pretty impressive. Mazda has come along way!
This video is really incredible👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You said it yourself: Top shelf journalism.
I say: Top shelf automobile journalism.
Your reviews rank with the very best. Why did I get a 3 year subscription to Motor Trend?
I thought that way about minivans but we ended up with a 2019 Honda Odyssey that has a 280hp VTEC V6 and 9-speed auto. It's actually kind of fun to drive. Needs better tires but it's surprisingly fast and when it revs up into VTEC land, it snarls.
Someone let Sarah review their Ferrari or McLaren
It would spoil her but she would have a blast.
She's actually not interested in exotics that much.
You sure they aren't more like the bullseye lights off an Impala? :)
It's not that i'm not interested in them, I'm just humble due to my upbringings.
@@SarahnTuned I am proud to say that I am humble, too..........................😉
Love your videos & energy so much ! & yes 93 should be our standard if we can have it at 87 cost
Good to see you had more than one "friend" with you when you're out in the desert. They probably wouldn't be much help fixing a flat, but their meer presence is reassuring.
I agree about Mazda making some nice looking cars. I personally have a CX-5, and I love it. Just wish they had the option to body color match the wheel arch trim. I think that would look even nicer.
I know it takes more work, Sarah, but that visual aid about how the clutch works really helped a lot!!! Thanks!! :)
Yrs ago i had a mazda spd3 that was modded and a cx 7. When mazda departed from ford in the early 2000's it made a big difference. Very good quality car for price.
WTF did I just watch?! 😆 (I mean that in a nice way though.) First time watching one of your videos and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I died @ 3:34 "Sorry..." 😂
Yes, on the octane level for fuel. I'm not sure about the USA, but in Australia our low octane fuel also has higher levels of sulphur and other nasties. The higher octane fuels are refined to higher tolerances.
I love you Sister!! Keep on truckin!
Hoping you and the penguins will be able to get your paws on the '21 Durango R/T when that thing shows itself 🚗
@@Mr-pn2eh nor according to JD Power
Yeah and hopefully it comes with the Tow n' Go Package
Dodge Durango SRT is Mother
Hey beautiful, any way the cookies crumbles ,it’s still a mazda . 🥺
they suck.. review done.
Now I lay me down to sleep. I pray the Lord that Sarah would post a new vid and she did!!! 🔥🔥🔥🍀
HA HA Good god I think I would catch fire or you um. LOL. Another great vlog!!
Awesome car and awesome video, Like for u from Italy!
Another good one Sarah
That does look like a good vehicle, a quick night time shot of the nose to show off the beak lights would've been great. Good ratings too!
As someone who just found your channel a couple weeks ago, then bought a new Mazda 3 HB (even though I know the turbo is coming soon... old car died...) I'm definitely looking forward to your review of the 3 Turbo.
Just signed up on your Patreon!!! So you're getting money FROM Las Vegas while everyone is here losing it! Lol
You reviewed a mazda 3 11 months ago and said it needs a turbo model. Mazda listened and for 2021 there will be a turbo model. Sarah makes the magic happen!
2:28 I'm actually glad you answered the question that nobody ever asked! I've always wondered if you can confuse a tailgate as well. Turns out I'm not the only one!
made me go to my garage and tried it to my montero and yeah you cant cancel unless you grab it
awesome more night shift entertainment. Thank you Sarah.
The bubble with the fish made me think of the vlog you posted a few months ago about sushi:
"I just wanna sit here...and eat my sushi...and listen to coyotes...that also wanna eat my sushi!!"
Bubble #1-fish
Bubble #2-lemon-?
🤣🤣🤣
I loved my 2014 CX-9 so much, I got a 2015 with AWD (same color) when an old fart in a Hyundai totaled my 2014.
The 14 (without AWD) was a tad peppier.
Both a blast to drive!
Zoomzoom
Love you Sarah!!!!
Allo Sarah! François from Canada. Looking at your smile while you were pushing it in the curve, it's look like you actually enjoy it.
I a funny coincidence that you review a CX 9 since I just bough one two weeks ago (2018 GT with only 35k). For the gas octane question, apparently this engine will run really fine with 87 octane and will probably give more then the announced 227 HP when exterior temperature is cold. With temperature near or below 32f (0c in Canada ;) ) the engine will deliver near 250 HP, even with 87 octane gas.
Driving it hard and over the speed limit most of the time, I'm really also impress with the high mileage per liter. I do agree that we can fell the little Zoom Zoom while driving it but nothing close to a car... My Civic SI will be more then welcome for those day when I really want to feel G while cornering and not been ejected to the passenger seat while doing it.
Now my favorite reviewer
You are awesome! Thank you!
Tailgate dancing 💃 💃💃🤣😂
Mazda really do make excellent vehicles! My brother has the Mazda 3 Astina. It’s a sweet car! 😉👍
You snapped very this time!
Yes! The Sarah lack of seat bolstering move!
Mommy missle sounds wrong😆😆 (for a car)
I hope you didn't the napping penguins lol
Nice touch with the air temp aswell 👌
I miss 93 octane fuel, here in MN I've only found 91, which is fine, what my car says it should have, but more power is always fun
Alright the best car reviewer on RUclips 😎
Garage science Sarah is super awesome
The best car reviewer among the Arizona's abandon warehouse RUclipsrs
The best part is Sarah's face on the brake test
I’m sure someone has already mentioned it, but I’ll toss it out there anyways. The rear tail lights reflect the ones used on the 488, not the 458 Italia. Close, but I thought you might want to know. 😉🙂
Mazda (I have no idea why America is the only country that pronounces it as Muzda) always tries to give you a sporty feel. Despite it being a big family hauler, it still wants you to have fun. Kudos to Mazda for being that little bit different. Can’t wait to see what they’re going to do with their successor architecture. It will change your feeling from quick, to fast. 😉👍🏻
Always a great review from you! 👏🏻😎
2:28
Sarah: Can I confuse it?
CX-9: AHT! Fool me once... ☝️
So many penguins inside! Am i creepy if i say i skipped this video in my feed several times until I noticed how cute she looks in that outfit? Glad I finally watched it. Lovely and funny/eccentric as ever....times 2-point-5 on my personal cookie scale
I have this car. I may never put hi-Octane fuel in it. Why? It cruises great on 87. If you want to drag other cars then don't get an SUV - you will always lose. Had an STI before this - really fast, bumpy, noisy and FUN so I can recommend that for SPEED. The CX-9 has COMFORT! Quiet, smooth ride, great handling and real nice looking in and out. The storage is not the most in it's class but we don't need more. There is plenty of room. The GT model has optional NO console in between the second row captain's chairs. Don't need it and the 3rd row access is much improved without it. Step through between the seats.
Love your review Sarah - covered all the bases.
Good video thanks.
This SUV and the girl, and I’m set for life. I promise I won’t want to upgrade for at least 20 years.
Standardize higher octane fuel to eliminate the "premium" cost through streamlining supply of one.
the steering wheel looks good
Ever since the Mazda cx30 review you did, I cant ignore how Mazda’s taillights looks like Ferrari’s kinda lol
That CX-9 is one of the nicest SUV's on the road. More than worth the money.
It was super nice, I really want to drive a base model though. I feel that's where Mazda shines the most, because "base" is still super nice!
@@SarahnTuned True. I should have waited on my new turbo CRV and gotten this.
the cx-9 does have an optional wireless charger though..
also the turbo charged mommy missile comment was great, even the wife laughed :D
Nice review
yes on the fuel!!!! I have a 3.0 duratec in my Mazda, on 87 it is slug thing, on 93 it is a different car, and it gets way better mpg. The total difference in cost per mile is actually a wash.
Best midsize SUV
Very distracting in this video, I was watching you and not the car, so I just watched it again. I approve of both. Nice family haller, and nice halter top!😊
So cute car and you review
Nope, not gonna say anything about all that dancing around to get the hatch to open, enjoyed the commentary on that "Bad Chicken" lol!
Higher octane gas is most likely a moot point. I kinda think electric will be the future.
Mazda's are great vehicles. Not much for the status seeking owner, just people who like to drive and want good value for their auto dollars. Another entertaining review, Sara. Well done!
Love Mazda, love Japan cars. Best regards from Valencia Spain 😄🤗🤗🤗
