- Hello, I'm Peter Goeman, host of the Bible Sojourner. This is a one minute introduction to who I am. I have a doctorate in Old Testament Studies, and by God’s grace, I have taught the Bible at the graduate level for over seven years at Shepherds Theological Seminary in Cary, NC. I also serve in pastoral ministry at the local church level.
God has given me a desire to help people understand the Bible and how to live the Christian life within an anti-Christian culture. When I’m not studying or teaching, you might find me playing ultimate frisbee or chess, or hiking and exploring with my family.

Hi. I’m Bill from Danville Pa and love listening to your podcasts/teaching. Keep up the wonderful work. I started listening while I was preaching through Revelation and found a kindred spirit coming through your teaching. My parents were born & raised Amish. They left the Amish and I grew up conservative Mennonite. We’ve left that group as well and I tell people I’m a regular Christian now.🤓 I’ve been a pastor for the last 25 years hoping to retire soon.

Been watching your videos for a while and enjoying them immensely. By the way. what is your chess rating and favorite openings? I only played in a few tournaments years ago and still had a provisional rating close to 1500.
Thanks for watching and for the question! I was 1400 over the board for Us Chess, but I think I’ve improved since then. I like a lot of openings but currently play Caro Kann and Italian when I play online.
