      I am a transportation planner and I believe that, relatively speaking, the transportation system in Switzerland is the best in the world, yet the trains and buses are occasionally not on time.

    "The busses and trains are mostly on time"... some north Americans really romanticise Swiss life, like it's their Wakanda.

    One of the first foreigner talking about swiss people who's actually right.
    But sadly, our punctuality and kindness disapears. And I got two reasons for it: 1. The next generation... lots of young people don't care about time or kindness anymore nowadays 2. We got about 23% foreigners in our country, which is good on one hand, but bad on the other... They changed a lot of our mentality. I wouldn't even say, they are changing us but rather we are letting us being changed by them.
    PS: I'm a christian but I don't believe in the book of Mormons because the bible is Gods word and nothing else. The bible says, no one shall take away nor add a part to his word (the bible) and I trust in His word!
    But good video!

    Hey, I'm from switzerland, and I would like to give you my feedback about this video. I like it, and I think in some points you are right. Swiss people truley believe in their country, we know it as a save place and try to keep it like that. So I guess it's difficult for us to accept changes. According to religion, I think there we are very free, but when we believe in something, than we believe it deeply.
    And about that working stuff, you have to be very ambitious in switzerland to reach something, so we have this so called business-people, which just live for their job.
    And according to time, even I think this is annoying, because I'm always late and so I don't really fit in their concept ;)
    I would say (and I'm proud to call this my home but I want to be honest and not attacking anyone) it's really difficult to get to know someone out of Switzerland. I mean, to really know them They are usually polite (not everyone), but they keep the distance, you have to work hard to like really get them,
    Hope this is helpful and I'm sorry for mistakes

    This is absolutely not true that a Swiss is family oriented! They are not Italian or Polish. Swiss stress their work - which gives them their identity. They like to have free time, but FAMILY: No.

    • @Antony9806
      @Antony9806 9 лет назад +4

      +HesseJamez It's a dialect that comes from the old south-german "Alemannic", which has its roots in and many words more similar to medieval German.

      Yes and actually, Germans from Southern Germany (like Stuttgart or Munich) often understand Swiss German.

    • @miep.5084
      @miep.5084 9 лет назад +3

      +HesseJamez It's a dialect, also called swissgerman. As you know there are different types of canton in switzerland, as example zurich. And in turn, there are also different dialects in switzerland like, Bern-German or Zurich-German. Berngerman is really hard to understand if you speak german, but Zurichgerman is really easy, because many german people work there and like it's really like german, but with different spelling as example: Kea(ä)se. In Zurichgerman it would be called Cheaea(ää)s.

    • @Maurazio

      that's hard in any country, especially if you don't speak the language

    • @degratrex6210
      @degratrex6210 10 лет назад +8

      well, it always depends on who you want to befriend... older generations may seem reserved or distant to foreigners, but that was just the general attitude on what was considered friendly at that time (swiss tend to appreciate a more "professional" approache). it's true that in comparison to countries like america, us young people may seem a bit more reserved aswell, but if you are a friendly person and have regular contacts, like work or school, finding friends shouldn't be too hard. language barrier may be a problem, but most of us are well versed in english, and many also know french or italian. and if the reason is infact your heritage... well then you're dealing with racists anyway and they wouldn't be good friends in the first place :D

    • @valeriacgm
      @valeriacgm 10 лет назад +4

      DeGRaTreX Hello, With my comment about my origin it was not my intention to say that they may be racist. I tought that maybe in my "Heimat" people is very extroverted, not shy and that is why it may be harder for me as for someone that comes from a country with a similar culture as here in Switzerland.
      Another reason could be that so far i am only attending german schools and ouviuosly i met only foreigers. In february i will start attending swiss german classes and then lets see the results :P

      I am Swiss myself but I lived 4 years in the US, 2 years in Portugal and 3 years in Brazil. Because I experienced that multicultural diversity, I have, as a Swiss, 0 Swiss friends. Sad to say, but I can't really do anything with my own people. They have different standards here. No unity, nothing, everybody on his own. Use up the great fact that CH is made up of 25% foreigners, that is where all my friends are. Brits, Spaniards, Italians and Americans. I am in the process of emigrating to Canada, although CH has its many pros, the country is not compatible with my mindset and since the country won't obviously change just for me, I will leave the country.
